    The AKG K series are Professional Studio Reference Monitors. They are designed to have a baseline flat response for studio work. In the studio you want to hear the "truth"; not something that has been enhanced by headphones that have the bass and treble pumped and the mids scooped. Get some Beats or similar knock offs if you want to just listen to recorded sounds like music. These incredible headphones can be found in Professional Recording Studios all over the world. Again... These are specialized units. I use mine mostly plugged directly into my guitar amps for private practice/creation. I can't recommend them enough. They are better than some Studio sets costing 3-4 times as much!

      What a relief, people saying it was really that flat and bad and I remember that I am not using this as consumer headphones but for piano practice, I think it would be more than enough

      Exactly why I ordered a pair earlier tonight. I'll be using them as monitoring headphones with my USB audio interface (Tascam US-1200). I wanted headphones that do not color the source audio in any way. And from what I've read, they also perform better while being pushed by a preamp, like those in USB audio interfaces. I guess I'll find out how well they work for that specific purpose, when I record myself playing guitar and bass. I only paid $30 for them from MF.

      hy maybe I'm late but these headphone are great for my mixing work. I these pair today. I've hade some other more expensive that wasn't as good as these AKG k52. Ok there are even more professional, but they sound very very nice to me. I feel just the midtowns a little week may because the have a very clean bass, and highs. But when you learn that your mixing will sound dope. And they are also good for watching movies or listen to other great music artist to compare with your mixing. The are comfortable and the long cable is long enough, for me not too long. Peace out 🙂

    Do you worry about sweating and the earpads getting ruined? I have mine on almost all day and I sweat profusely.
    I use mine to listen to music from a Behringer Q802USB/Audio Interface, I run my PC's audio, Galaxy Tab E and guitar amp into it and listen to all the audio through these headphones. They handle bass really well, I can also adjust the EQ's on the mixer so the audio doesn't clip. I've played subwoofer tests on RUclips and these headphones handle the extreme bass well. Audio levels 1-10, I have the treble at 8.5, Mid Range at 6 and Bass at 8/8.5. I'm very pleased with the sound that's coming through them. I'm very particular with sound, EQ settings and overall sound, I mess with EQ's and these headphones are great. I'm just worried about how much I sweat and the "moisture" corroding & ruining the earpads, besides that, I really like them. I had to get my glasses adjusted, get the arms "straightened" out, once they were adjusted, I felt NO pressure from the headphones on the side of my head from the headphones.

    • @richardgorcsi2443
      @richardgorcsi2443 3 года назад +1

      Hi, i don't really have experience, with the akg-s but the hd206 is a ripoff at that price, it's dry as a desert, if you can, buy 1-2 dollar iem-s and that might outperform the 206's. You're much better off buying the k52-s and if your budget allows it, get some brainwawz leather or PU leather pads, those will stand the time, and it might improve the sound quality of the headphones, and massively improve the comfort of them

    I have owned a pair of K52 headphone, a Behringer on air, one plus bullet z earphone, Oppo m31 earphone, sony 200i earphone and some more mid range headphones and earphones. I have been with studio recording business for last 30 years. Out of all of my headphones i can say K 52 has given much more good sound stage for listening a song. Bass, mid and highs are very good in k52. But it is not made for mixing songs in studio only for tracking instruments. Oppo m31 has the best sound signature in earphone segment followed by One plus bullet z.

    I’ve been using K52s for audio rendering for a couple years now with my animations. So far so good, but my only complaint is that the headband’s “tightness” wears down over time (as expected) and basically renders itself as useless. My head’s on the bigger end, so it works fine. But after prolonged use, the metal band thingies kinda dig into your head. I used them for my first year in college, and I wish the cable was changeable as I would have the cable wrapped around my phone and in my pocket which made it bulge like crazy. Uncomfortable.
    Overall rating: 7/10 for the price.
    Sound quality: 6 washing machines out of 10 tilapia.

    I am testing a new pair of AKG K52 headphones and I disagree with most of the things you say assuming mine are representative. On low volumes and with acoustic music, the ambience, stereo imaging and sound quality are quite good and pleasant but, at volumes above 50%, the treble is simply awful splashy distorted rubbish. You spend so long initially talking about cosmetic nonsense. AKG and Koss make much better headphones for similar or slightly higher prices.
