This resonates so much for me, I am such a self sabotager I know and I meant for greatness and then I hold myself back with my choices and my negative thoughts, but I just don’t know what my leverage is I can say it losing my brother and then losing my mom two years later sure I can say that it’s to be motivated to leave a legacy for my kids sure but I always come back to self sabotage myself with the negative choices I make by not taking action. I don’t know how to make that choice where enough is enough and I move forward 100% greatness.
It’s taking small steps, changing one thing at a time you do each day. You already know the things you want to change. Remove the choice of doing it or not. Just do it. Step into your power by using all of the seconds of the day to move towards the life you want. You can do it! What will you change today? What one thing. Do that same thing again tomorrow and then change one more thing. It will take time but eventually your life will be what you’ve dreamed. Act like the person you want to be. What would they wear, how would they speak, what actions would they take daily? Do those things ✨ you’ve got this! 🤍
Thank you David! I am comfortable, and that creates lethargy. But for the divine life i was meant to live i am not even close. For the change I want to start creating for my family and future generations I am not close tp achieving it. I have no choice. I have to move forward into the person God meant me to be.
Such a powerful idea to grasp and understand. For myself I have never thought of CHOICE as being detrimental. As a Type 7 ( Epicurian ) on the Enneagram, we love choice, and the more choices we have then the better we feel. More choices= more options = more "security." MInd you it very definitely makes focusing on one thing almost impossible. I have been wrestling with this for sometime now and feeling frustated because I have sensed, and seen, how it limits the results you could be getting if you just focused. I've never heard of this before (Epicurian), but that is exactly me. Just the thought of an abundance of choices calms my nerves, even though they are hypothetical. And yes, then I don't even know which one to choose, which puts me into inaction on all of them. It's a terrible cycle. It's like my best life is always in my visions, not my reality.

This is definitely food for thought. I'm changing up what I do in my pet care business. ,moving away from the physical work to reaching. But it takes making the calls, sending the emails. And I have a real hard time with that . Could be,going back to the changed mind book, "I don't know how" I'm not good enough". Could be that my"choice" is to believe that so I don't fail,but then I can't succeed if I don't start

Thank you David once again! This concept of "choice" I see it as when having a dream, something I want to experience I think of "I hope it happens" rather then being certain it can happen for me. I see that when I think of I HOPE rather than I KNOW I give my self the choice. Attached to this I like the idea of having the Desire (saying "It would be beautiful to experience this") and then taking inspired action and being aware of the "resistance thoughts" that might come.

I struggle with the choice of who or what I commit to. I’m not religious and so that northern star has only ever even been to prove I can be successful to the world. The world is broad and therefore choice. This is easily my biggest struggle.

Another GREAT video David - Thank you! Question: If an action doesn't feel right eg. a venture, how can you tell if its your True Self guiding you through intuition or if it is a Limiting Belief that you should replace?
An interesting question. I think if you feel fear--fear of starting, fear of failing, fear of being judged, fear of losing money (or anything else)--then that's likely your own limiting belief. If, however, you feel something's just not right, that something or someone may not be honest, that the venture may not be ethical or does not really align with your own ethics or moral compass, then I think you can believe that's your intuition telling you not to proceed. Another way to look at it would be to ask yourself, "If X, Y, or Z were different, would I leap at the opportunity to do this?" For example, if you were just gifted $10,000, would you spend it on a self-improvement course you're hesitating right now to buy? If the answer is yes, then you're being held back by your limiting beliefs about money and value. If, however, you are thinking about going into business with a friend, and even if you had a grant to fully pay to start the business, you would still hesitate, then that's a good indication that either your friend or the idea is not going to work out.

@@qow2427 Well, I suppose another way to look at it is: if you believe it will succeed, it will succeed; if you believe it might fail, it will. With the right attitude, you can make anything succeed. So if you feel fear at starting something, that's your own limiting beliefs, because if you believed you will be successful, you will be. Trust intuition when it's telling you to slow down before you wreck your car.

Sometimes, like right now, I feel unsupported. I have to make all the big decisions by myself. It's very exhausting to not have another person of competence who can listen and provide more awareness and perspective to the problem. I have a lot of specialists on my team, but no one who can see at my level and give me insight which helps me make decisions. Like I'm Captain Picard, and I don't have Lieutenant Riker for council. Super frustrating!
I have read and watched many self-help contents but have never encountered a view that considered choice as an illusion or as harmful. I think there is some truth in that statement.
I just started listening to this and and you're telling the story regarding Marcus, what exactly did you mean when you said his father had the pedigree to make this happen or do this kind of work? When I heard that I instantly thought, oh well, this isn't for me because I do not come from any type of pedigree. Words have incredible impact sometimes.😢 Thankfully, I am able to work through this and tell myself that that's a lie, but just wanted to share what my instant reaction was to those words.
@DavidBayer33 , I found this episode a bit contradictory compared to the one where you mentioned that, at some point, when we are working very hard and struggling toward success, we should surrender (do nothing). What’s the difference? As entrepreneurs, we automatically put ourselves in ‘uncomfortable’ positions. So, if surrendering to a higher power means closing our endeavor and returning to being an employee, that seems to contradict what I understood from this episode.
I’m no David Bayer man, but here’s my 2 cents that come just from the intention of helping: The concept of surrendering I think mostly applies to what I call your Spiritual Energy. And what I mean by that is the thoughts and feelings you allow to control your mind most of the time… As I understood it, you should not stop doing what you need to do in terms of the responsibilities you have in your business, but you should not overdo nor obsess about those to the point where you wane and drain your mind (spiritual energy). This is: at some point, if you’re doing what you need to do and what’s in your control, just surrender the rest. Don’t use the time that you should be using to spend a good moment with your family, friends or pets obsessing about things that are just not in your hands to solve. Surrendering means doing your job, and then allowing a higher power do its job as well. Now, on this episode, what I understand David is saying is that you should see your life-goal as a purpose from which you have no choice but to follow. This, as I understand it, is the definition of “Passion” (something that you just can’t move away from because it’s so important to you and gives you so much pleasure/satisfaction to do)… You may ask why would anyone then NOT follow their passion? There’s an easy answer, there are 7 blockages: Fear, Guilt, Shame, Pain, Lies. Confusion and Spiritual Disconnection. Any of these could derail you if you allowed them to. These 7 blockages tend to be what is behind the things that David describes here as “options” (procrastination, distractions, addictions, etc.). Hope I was clear, I really just want to help. Tell me what you think 😊

I do want to help people on where i used to be but my roadbloack is money! Cant seem to get out of this problem no matter how hard i work at it. How do I start something when money is not available?
It's free to start a RUclips channel. All you need is a phone camera to start. There's a reseller I watch on RUclips who set himself a challenge to make $1,000 in a month. He said while most people have some stuff they can clean out of their house, he chose to start with nothing, as that's all some people who have hit financial rock bottom have. He went around checking out dumpsters and stuff put out on the curbside for trash pick-up. He got a few things, listed them on Craigslist and quickly sold them. Then he took that money to Goodwill, bought some stuff, and then started a new eBay store and started selling things. (He also sold some things at Play It Again Sports.) Every time he sold something, he went and got some more stuff. By the end of the month, he had earned over $1,000, plus still had some unsold inventory that he could still make some money on. He showed that it's possible to get into reselling without any money at all, and that you can quickly earn enough money to pay some bills. Another story I heard was by a black single mother who really needed some extra income, so she started baking cupcakes and selling them to people she knew. When she started, she only had enough money to buy ingredients for one batch. As she sold them, she was able to buy more ingredients. Then someone asked her for a huge order and she did not have enough money to buy all the ingredients at once. Figuring out what the problem was, the person told her that she could deliver them in batches and she would pay for them as they were delivered. In this way, she was able to do a big order, which helped her grow. She now is basically running a bakery out of her house and it's her full time job and earning 6 figures. I think there are a lot of things where you can get started with nothing and work your way up. It will probably require more time and effort, but it can still be done. If you're meant to do it and you do it fearlessly, the resources you need will come your way as you go. As God said to Abraham, "Go to the place I will show you." Abraham had to leave without knowing where he was going; it was only after he had moved that God could tell him, "Here is where I want you to be."
Thanks David…you seem to be slightly ratcheting up the pressure on your product sales..please don’t these videos are growing seeds that are going to take a bit longer to flourish because you are helping people much further down the ladder and they may not have the means NOW to get as heavily involved as they would like…but this garden is going to be massive and powerful..just be patient.
You would prefer I don’t give people the opportunity to go deeper who have the resources right now? By offering an opportunity in each episode you’re describing that as ratcheting up the pressure? If you’re feeling pressured by promotion in a video then that’s something you need to take a look at my friend.
Possibly so David..what I love about the literally millions of dollars of material you put out here for free is that I’ve never felt any pressure from you..I did but your book and do have adequate financial means and will probably delve further into your paid works..I’m just saying that after watching hundreds of hours of your material and being grateful for all of it this video ticked my radar..it probably is something inside of me but I felt compelled to say something…again thanks for all you do I believe completely in what you are doing you have already made a huge difference for me.

If he had multiple businesses then he's got the luxury to think whatever he thinks. I would expect from someone like you to simply understand that you are speaking to non-already made millionaires or billionaires!. Unless you do. BAD example.
Take this from someone who is currently struggling with debt, David could have fabricated a better example for this episode, but I guess he decided to be honest and use the real-life example he knows of to exemplify this concept. I agree with you that, many people will have a hard time trying to resonate with this example, but in reality this thing David is talking about applies pretty much for EVERYONE out there. Let me tell you why: think of life as something that you chose to experience, if you’re religious you probably believe in a soul or spirit, and you probably believe that there is life after life (eternity). Now, just think about this: if your soul is eternal, then it will not only exist after this life, but it existed before this life. If you believe in free will in this life, how difficult is it to believe that your soul also has free will? When you see it like this, it’s not difficult to believe that you decided to come to experience this life and your God allowed you to. If you’re not religious and your vision is that this is a simulation for example, then it’s even easier to believe that you yourself decided to “play”. Either way, if you think about it, NOT following your passion, your purpose or calling, would wa tremendous waste of time and a tremendous waste of an opportunity to experience what YOU wanted to experience when YOU decided to come here. I believe that the bottom line of what David is trying to convey here is that individually what’s at stake is your happiness (seems clever to have designed the “game” in a way that when you’re not following your passion you feel scared, empty, unsatisfied), and what’s at stake collectively is the future of the world.
How important was it for you to make this comment? Why try to hurt/insult/ridicule a man who has not harmed you and upset those who support him? You also have the choice not to be nasty, not to create drama by commenting or spitting on the dreams of others. Faithlessness, hopelessness and being negative can be contagious. Aren't you worn out by all the ugliness in this world yet? Why contribute towards it? Instead, work at encouraging those you can and see how much better that feels! Blessing to you!
This episode was offensive on so many levels. People don’t age out - just because we are older doesn’t mean we are put out to pasture because we aged out. It means we take the best of us and punch a higher floor. I am not sure your content is something I would continue to listen to since you are appearing to have an ageism bias.
I think you missing the point. People do age out. They have done something for such an age they no longer wish to do it anymore. They wish to do something else. I also struggle on your calliñg this episode offensive on so many levels. Other than you finding aging out offensive what other things did you find offensive? I'd ask yourself why am I so offended by this podcast.
If you listen with your heart, you will realize that David is not the type of person to sit in judgment of those of us who are older. As one of those older people, I feel sad for you (especially if you're an older person who, in my opinion, should be far beyond such pettiness by now) that you listen with the intent to find fault and sow discord. Your criticism affects those who read your comments in a negative way. People listen to him to find hope and solutions to their challenges. Some of us like to read the comments for the same reason and offer encouragement. So let me encourage you to come here to serve your fellow man with uplifting words. I struggle with the choice of who or what I commit to. I’m not religious and so that northern star has only ever even been to prove I can be successful to the world. The world is broad and therefore choice. This is easily my biggest struggle.

Question: If an action doesn't feel right eg. a venture, how can you tell if its your True Self guiding you through intuition or if it is a Limiting Belief that you should replace?
An interesting question. I think if you feel fear--fear of starting, fear of failing, fear of being judged, fear of losing money (or anything else)--then that's likely your own limiting belief. If, however, you feel something's just not right, that something or someone may not be honest, that the venture may not be ethical or does not really align with your own ethics or moral compass, then I think you can believe that's your intuition telling you not to proceed.
Another way to look at it would be to ask yourself, "If X, Y, or Z were different, would I leap at the opportunity to do this?" For example, if you were just gifted $10,000, would you spend it on a self-improvement course you're hesitating right now to buy? If the answer is yes, then you're being held back by your limiting beliefs about money and value. If, however, you are thinking about going into business with a friend, and even if you had a grant to fully pay to start the business, you would still hesitate, then that's a good indication that either your friend or the idea is not going to work out.
@@kerim.peardon5551 Thank you for taking the time to reply and with thought. Your first paragraph made more sense to me but there are occasions when the True Self advice does feel like its coming from fear too.
Anyway, I will keep asking this question and see what other perspectives there are.

@@qow2427 Well, I suppose another way to look at it is: if you believe it will succeed, it will succeed; if you believe it might fail, it will. With the right attitude, you can make anything succeed. So if you feel fear at starting something, that's your own limiting beliefs, because if you believed you will be successful, you will be.
Trust intuition when it's telling you to slow down before you wreck your car.

Sometimes, like right now, I feel unsupported. I have to make all the big decisions by myself. It's very exhausting to not have another person of competence who can listen and provide more awareness and perspective to the problem. I have a lot of specialists on my team, but no one who can see at my level and give me insight which helps me make decisions. Like I'm Captain Picard, and I don't have Lieutenant Riker for council. Super frustrating!
I have read and watched many self-help contents but have never encountered a view that considered choice as an illusion or as harmful. I think there is some truth in that statement.

I just started listening to this and and you're telling the story regarding Marcus, what exactly did you mean when you said his father had the pedigree to make this happen or do this kind of work? When I heard that I instantly thought, oh well, this isn't for me because I do not come from any type of pedigree. @DavidBayer33 , I found this episode a bit contradictory compared to the one where you mentioned that, at some point, when we are working very hard and struggling toward success, we should surrender (do nothing). What’s the difference? As entrepreneurs, we automatically put ourselves in ‘uncomfortable’ positions. So, if surrendering to a higher power means closing our endeavor and returning to being an employee, that seems to contradict what I understood from this episode.
I’m no David Bayer man, but here’s my 2 cents that come just from the intention of helping:
The concept of surrendering I think mostly applies to what I call your Spiritual Energy. And what I mean by that is the thoughts and feelings you allow to control your mind most of the time… As I understood it, you should not stop doing what you need to do in terms of the responsibilities you have in your business, but you should not overdo nor obsess about those to the point where you wane and drain your mind (spiritual energy). This is: at some point, if you’re doing what you need to do and what’s in your control, just surrender the rest. Don’t use the time that you should be using to spend a good moment with your family, friends or pets obsessing about things that are just not in your hands to solve. Surrendering means doing your job, and then allowing a higher power do its job as well.
Now, on this episode, what I understand David is saying is that you should see your life-goal as a purpose from which you have no choice but to follow. This, as I understand it, is the definition of “Passion” (something that you just can’t move away from because it’s so important to you and gives you so much pleasure/satisfaction to do)… You may ask why would anyone then NOT follow their passion? There’s an easy answer, there are 7 blockages: Fear, Guilt, Shame, Pain, Lies. Confusion and Spiritual Disconnection. Any of these could derail you if you allowed them to. These 7 blockages tend to be what is behind the things that David describes here as “options” (procrastination, distractions, addictions, etc.).

I do want to help people on where i used to be but my roadbloack is money! Cant seem to get out of this problem no matter how hard i work at it. How do I start something when money is not available?

There's a reseller I watch on RUclips who set himself a challenge to make $1,000 in a month. He said while most people have some stuff they can clean out of their house, he chose to start with nothing, as that's all some people who have hit financial rock bottom have. He went around checking out dumpsters and stuff put out on the curbside for trash pick-up. He got a few things, listed them on Craigslist and quickly sold them. Then he took that money to Goodwill, bought some stuff, and then started a new eBay store and started selling things. (He also sold some things at Play It Again Sports.) Every time he sold something, he went and got some more stuff. By the end of the month, he had earned over $1,000, plus still had some unsold inventory that he could still make some money on. He showed that it's possible to get into reselling without any money at all, and that you can quickly earn enough money to pay some bills.
Another story I heard was by a black single mother who really needed some extra income, so she started baking cupcakes and selling them to people she knew. When she started, she only had enough money to buy ingredients for one batch. As she sold them, she was able to buy more ingredients. Then someone asked her for a huge order and she did not have enough money to buy all the ingredients at once. Figuring out what the problem was, the person told her that she could deliver them in batches and she would pay for them as they were delivered. In this way, she was able to do a big order, which helped her grow. She now is basically running a bakery out of her house and it's her full time job and earning 6 figures.
I think there are a lot of things where you can get started with nothing and work your way up. It will probably require more time and effort, but it can still be done. If you're meant to do it and you do it fearlessly, the resources you need will come your way as you go. As God said to Abraham, "Go to the place I will show you." Abraham had to leave without knowing where he was going; it was only after he had moved that God could tell him, "Here is where I want you to be."
Find a way to help without money. There must be something.

Thanks David…you seem to be slightly ratcheting up the pressure on your product sales..please don’t these videos are growing seeds that are going to take a bit longer to flourish because you are helping people much further down the ladder and they may not have the means NOW to get as heavily involved as they would like…but this garden is going to be massive and powerful..just be patient.
You would prefer I don’t give people the opportunity to go deeper who have the resources right now? By offering an opportunity in each episode you’re describing that as ratcheting up the pressure? If you’re feeling pressured by promotion in a video then that’s something you need to take a look at my friend.
Possibly so David..what I love about the literally millions of dollars of material you put out here for free is that I’ve never felt any pressure from you..I did but your book and do have adequate financial means and will probably delve further into your paid works..I’m just saying that after watching hundreds of hours of your material and being grateful for all of it this video ticked my radar..it probably is something inside of me but I felt compelled to say something…again thanks for all you do I believe completely in what you are doing you have already made a huge difference for me.

Take this from someone who is currently struggling with debt, David could have fabricated a better example for this episode, but I guess he decided to be honest and use the real-life example he knows of to exemplify this concept.
I agree with you that, many people will have a hard time trying to resonate with this example, but in reality this thing David is talking about applies pretty much for EVERYONE out there. Let me tell you why: think of life as something that you chose to experience, if you’re religious you probably believe in a soul or spirit, and you probably believe that there is life after life (eternity). Now, just think about this: if your soul is eternal, then it will not only exist after this life, but it existed before this life. If you believe in free will in this life, how difficult is it to believe that your soul also has free will? When you see it like this, it’s not difficult to believe that you decided to come to experience this life and your God allowed you to.
If you’re not religious and your vision is that this is a simulation for example, then it’s even easier to believe that you yourself decided to “play”.
Either way, if you think about it, NOT following your passion, your purpose or calling, would wa tremendous waste of time and a tremendous waste of an opportunity to experience what YOU wanted to experience when YOU decided to come here.
I believe that the bottom line of what David is trying to convey here is that individually what’s at stake is your happiness (seems clever to have designed the “game” in a way that when you’re not following your passion you feel scared, empty, unsatisfied), and what’s at stake collectively is the future of the world.
I have a choice not to listen to this nonsense about him believing he can become President of the USA!
Anything is possible. When you stop believing that, there is no longer any reason to get out of bed.....

This episode was offensive on so many levels. People don’t age out - just because we are older doesn’t mean we are put out to pasture because we aged out. It means we take the best of us and punch a higher floor. I am not sure your content is something I would continue to listen to since you are appearing to have an ageism bias.
