      Thank you so much! Garden dimensions (fence to fence) is 25' x 30', the outer garden bed is 2' deep, inside the fence the L shaped bed measures 20' in total length (one side is 9' the other 11') and is 2.5' deep, the 4 inner beds are 6' x 3' and the longer outer beds(not L shaped are 8' x 2.5'. The main pathways are 4' wide and pathways between the beds is 2.5'. Hope this makes sense. Thank you for your kind message, you made my day!😊

    Just discovered your channel. Beautiful garden. I moved back to Indiana after living in Suwanee, GA, zone 8 for 35 years. …..regret leaving my gardens. Starting all over in a new house w/ very little yard & a huge slope back area. Trying to figure out how to fence off my side garden area since visible from street that is visually appealing. Really like your set up, but I cannot put up an exterior fence bc of HOA rules…(hate Indiana so far) to help ward off Thumper and friends. I saw these fence panels on Lowe’s site. May go this route & put chicken wire on interior….a lot of hard work. But, I imagine you are like me, clears my head. I just wish I had some help. Blessings and Happy Gardening.

      Correct, this tree is highly invasive and damages the ecosystem. They’re using that space in a way that is waaayyyy more beneficial to the planet.

    Ohhhh eMMMMM Geeeee!! I thought it was so clever to center the arch with the tree and with the raised beds flanking that tree…I was thinking, “How clever…I love that focal point.” Then wahhhh wahhhhh wahhhhh, bye bye tree…😢…but watched through the end and it’s absolutely beautiful!! What are the dimensions of entire space? What was the cost?

      Hi Cindy, yes, removing the tree was a tough decision. My neighbor who is a horticulturist told me a few years back that the Bradford Pear is a trash tree with a short life span, and has a tendency to drop limbs in wind and ice storms and that they don't sell them in our area anymore. It was a sad day! 😭 I did plant 2 October Glory maples in its honor.
      The garden dimensions are 30' x 28'. The project cost was around $1800 excluding the cost to remove the tree. That alone was $1k with stump grinding. Thanks for watching and happy gardening🌸

    • @ThymeToGarden1975
      @ThymeToGarden1975  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! In our area they are considered trash trees because they tend to drop limbs in ice storms and are short lived trees but I did cry when the crew arrived. I'm busy planning a new garden bed where the old beds were. Thanks for your kind comment and for watching.

      @@ThymeToGarden1975 I noticed that you just put weed barrier cloth right on top of the grass without doing anything. Do you have any concern that grass/weed will grow through it in the long run? Also what kind of material do you put down in the walkway/path in the garden bed area? I really like your backyard. It just looks so "clean".

    • @ThymeToGarden1975

      @@butette Before laying down the weed barrier, we cut the grass as low as possible almost shaving it, then covered it with the weed barrier. On top of the pathways we put down 2 inches of hardwood bark mulch. Thankfully we've had no grass issues.

      Agreed! If the tree was good for our area, I would never have removed it. I was advised to take it out since Bradford Pears tend to drop limbs in ice storms and have a life span of only 25 years. Our garden centers don't sell them anymore. It was a very sad day! I did plant 2 October Glory Maples in its honor and I sure missed seeing its blossoms this spring.❤️

    I’ve been considering getting the concrete corners from Home Depot for my raised beds. Do you like them and would recommend them? It sure seems easier and a bit more design friendly to use them.

    • @ThymeToGarden1975
      @ThymeToGarden1975  6 месяцев назад +2

      I do recommend them. My previous beds were screwed together and the project took a lot longer. Concrete corners makes quick work especially if your ground is level and you can easily replace boards if needed. The bricks do shift some but you could pound rebar into the holes to keep them in place. I didn’t bother I just kick them back if need be😂
