Does my heart good to see someone who works as hard and cares as much as I do about their garden.......thank you!

I love the garden but when they decided to cut down the tree I was like no…no noo nooooo Nooooo! If only trees can be donated I would gladly have taken it.
Wow, absolutely love your new garden. We just started digging for a raised garden - had an in-ground for years. Got some great ideas from your video!
Love the layout , you've given me some great ideas. Who said veg can't look beautiful 😊
Lots of hard work. Looks amazing even if it looks a bit like a cemetery.
Thank you. Ha! Especially during winter.

What a superb video for an amazing project! Absolutely loved it! Thank you for sharing every step of the way. You and hubs worked very smartly - using the plastic sheeting for layouts etc. Was glorious to see your hard work pay off. Would you mind sharing the dimensions of your garden, the garden beds and the bed outside the garden fence? Very inspirational! ❤
Thank you so much! Garden dimensions (fence to fence) is 25' x 30', the outer garden bed is 2' deep, inside the fence the L shaped bed measures 20' in total length (one side is 9' the other 11') and is 2.5' deep, the 4 inner beds are 6' x 3' and the longer outer beds(not L shaped are 8' x 2.5'. The main pathways are 4' wide and pathways between the beds is 2.5'. Hope this makes sense. Thank you for your kind message, you made my day!😊
You have such a beautiful eye for gardening. I was in awe with the finished results! I have never heard of easy fence but I will certainly look into it!
Thank you Dom, appreciate your kind comment!

I’m sad about the tree (you need more), but love your new garden space!
Thanks Stephanie, I totally agree with you, after we removed that Bradford Pear, we planted 2 Maples on the other side of the garden 🥰

Nice!
Woe,, beauty work... but, in the other side, if they live where i live the would never cut that tree....
Beautiful!!!
Thank you Tiffany.
What an absolute delight to watch this! 🙂 It just popped up this morning and I loved it! I don't even know you and I'm so proud of you and so happy for your new garden. That was a lot of work! I'm trying to do something similar with my garden and you've given me some great ideas. Did you use mulch or wood chips on top of your landscape fabric as pathways? Also, do I guess correctly that you are a fellow Garden Answer fan? 😉You just got yourself a new subscriber. Happy gardening!
Thank you 🙏 I so appreciate your kindness❤️ I used “hardwood fines bark mulch” it was the cheapest I could find at Lowe’s 🤣. You guessed right. I’m a huge GA fan. Wishing you great success with your garden. 🌸❤️
The new garden is beautiful but truth be told, I was sad to see the tree removed.
Me too. It was a tough decision. I was advised to remove it since the Bradford pears tend to drop limbs in ice storms and are short lived in our area. It was a sad day and I missed its blossoms this spring.😕
Just discovered your channel. Beautiful garden. I moved back to Indiana after living in Suwanee, GA, zone 8 for 35 years. …..regret leaving my gardens. Starting all over in a new house w/ very little yard & a huge slope back area. Trying to figure out how to fence off my side garden area since visible from street that is visually appealing. Really like your set up, but I cannot put up an exterior fence bc of HOA rules…(hate Indiana so far) to help ward off Thumper and friends. I saw these fence panels on Lowe’s site. May go this route & put chicken wire on interior….a lot of hard work. But, I imagine you are like me, clears my head. I just wish I had some help. Blessings and Happy Gardening.
Oh no Dawn! So sorry you had to leave your garden in GA. 😥 We’re also part of an HOA and have to get permission for everything🙄 You’re right, clears my head and fills my heart. Wishing you all the best with your new garden and home ❤️
Beautiful....my thumbnail is mine coming into my driveway...I have 4 acres to create into flowers, vegetables & beautiful flowering trees...I can't do what you did for food because of all the wild animals loving food too...I can copy this idea for deer & bunny resistant flowers...thanks for the video it is an inspiration for all.
Connie, you are blessed to have so many acres... I wish, maybe one day!! Thank you for your kind comment and happy gardening!🥰🌸
Also... your driveway entrance looks beautiful!!
That is a stunning garden. Can you please share the flowers you have around the garden? Tyia
Thank you! I planted Lemon coral sedum around the outside of the bed. Super low maintenance.
Great job. What a great hubby. Can you please link the arches, your gardening boots and the the garden bed corners?
Thank you! I really did luck out in the husband department🥰 The boots are my sons, we bought them at Meijer years ago, here are the links for the corners and arches🌺springhillnursery.com/products/monet-arch

Had two Bradford trees when we built our house. Lost one at three years old to a hurricane and the second to disease a few years later. Our house looked better without them.

omg you cut down that tree.
Braford pear trees are considered trash trees in our area, they tend to drop limbs in ice storms and are no longer sold in our garden centers. But it was a sad day for me. I'll miss its beautiful blossoms this spring:(
My 96 yro moms favorite saying “don’t take a vote .”
Love it, so sweet your husband did this for you. Why raised beds? Is it for aesthetics? Is it better for a herb garden? Trying to learn because I want to do my backyard. 😊
Hubs is the best❤️ I chose raised beds mostly for asthetics but our property slopes down quite a bit so the raised bed keeps the soil in place. Wishing you all the best with your backyard project!🌸
Omg, I can't believe it. I'm going for the same look! I have the same fence. I just need to buy some more panels, the price went from $25 to $40. I need to close two more sides. This makes me sad, but I'll do it one day, one step at a time. I already have two arbors too! Maybe I'll get some more. Anyways, you are my garden fence soul mate ❤ I'm so happy for your garden. It looks so so beautiful!!!
Thank you so much! Yes, it is crazy how prices have almost doubled!! Hope you get your space sorted soon. Take care my garden fence soul mate :) ❤️
Wow beautiful garden space! I like the arbors can you share where you bought them?
Hi Gloria. I bought the arbors online from Spring Hill nurseries. The Monet arch. Happy gardening 🌸
Wow, that turned out so beautiful. May I know where you got the fence and is it no dig fence? Please reply…. thanks.
Thank you! We bought the fence at Lowes, yes it's no dig, super easy to install. Thanks for watching.
You popped up in my feed as well Can you tell me where u got your black fence & arbors Great job by both you & the hubby I wish I had that big of a back yd.
Hi Dotty. The fences were purchased at Lowe’s. Here’s the link www.lowes.com/pd/No-Dig-Actual-3-37-ft-x-4-12-ft-Grand-Empire-Powder-coated-Steel-Pressed-Point-Decorative-Metal-Fence-Panel/3028522. The arches I purchased online from Spring Hill Nurseries, “Monet Arch”. Thanks for watching. 🥰
Awesome. Root cellar next?
Ha! That would be nice!
Oh wow, very beautiful, it inspired me to make my own. What is the name of that support you used that holds the wood you planted inside? is it plastic? Are the woods normal or did you use some product? and what land did you use to plant? Thank you very much in advance
Thank you, the corner that holds the wood is concrete, I will leave the link below. We used untreated pine, we went cheap since this is not our forever home, I used the soil from my previous raised beds which is mainly a raised bed mix with compost. Good luck with your project! Wishing you much success🥰 www.lowes.com/pd/Oldcastle-Planter-Wall-Tan-Retaining-Wall-Block-Common-6-in-x-8-in-Actual-5050-in-x-7-75-in/1001156396?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-lwn-_-ggl-_-CRP_SHP_LIA_LWN_Online_C-D-_-1001156396-_-local-_-0-_-0&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw88yxBhBWEiwA7cm6pQaF8Vwo7tcerqTEvUKXAxTHqMQEc28BijRNMgQnbT5JYnibG2NoWBoCCf8QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Beautiful! Where did you get your raised beds?
Thank you. We purchased the bricks and lumber at Lowe’s. Was quick to put together.
Beautiful. Looks similar to Laura's raised bed garden from Garden Answer channel ❤.
I, too want to install the fencing you did but my soil is hard clay, not sure I'll be able to push support bars in so easily. 🤔
Did the Bradford Pear put up a bunch of shoots after you cut and grinded them? We had a poplar tree before cut and grinded but 2 years in we are still fighting the shoots from coming up...
Thankfully only 1 shoot that keeps trying to push through. 😅
Really nice garden. Where did you you get the arches..
Thank you. I ordered the arches from Spring Hill Nurseries the Monet Arch.
Cool video! My husband and I made a similar raised bed garden so I know how much work that was Great Job! I love the arches, Ive been looking for some like that. Where did you get the arch?
Hi there, thank you, yes it was hard work :) I ordered the arches online from Spring Hill Nurseries the Monet Arch. thank you for your kind comment, much appreciated.
I just subscribed also:)_@@ThymeToGarden1975
@@capecodcottagegarden Thank you, you made my day x
So so sad about the tree….😢
Not sad!! It’s a highly invasive tree!
Bradford pears are the devil’s tree and they stink when they’re in bloom. It’s now illegal to plant them in my state because they’re so invasive.
Correct, this tree is highly invasive and damages the ecosystem. They’re using that space in a way that is waaayyyy more beneficial to the planet.
Bradford pears are trash trees! They made the right decision!
Good to be rid of the Bradford Pear!
Thanks ❤
Very nice 👍
Thank you:)
Ohhhh eMMMMM Geeeee!! I thought it was so clever to center the arch with the tree and with the raised beds flanking that tree…I was thinking, “How clever…I love that focal point.” Then wahhhh wahhhhh wahhhhh, bye bye tree…😢…but watched through the end and it’s absolutely beautiful!! What are the dimensions of entire space? What was the cost?
Hi Cindy, yes, removing the tree was a tough decision. My neighbor who is a horticulturist told me a few years back that the Bradford Pear is a trash tree with a short life span, and has a tendency to drop limbs in wind and ice storms and that they don't sell them in our area anymore. It was a sad day! 😭 I did plant 2 October Glory maples in its honor.
The garden dimensions are 30' x 28'. The project cost was around $1800 excluding the cost to remove the tree. That alone was $1k with stump grinding. Thanks for watching and happy gardening🌸
Where did you get the fencing panels from?
I bought them from Lowes, here's the link www.lowes.com/pd/No-Dig-Actual-3-37-ft-x-4-12-ft-Grand-Empire-Powder-coated-Steel-Pressed-Point-Decorative-Metal-Fence-Panel/3028522
Where did you get your arched arbors from??
I bought the arbors online from Spring Hill nurseries. The Monet arch. Happy gardening 🌸
hello! im new to the channel (and to gardening!). Can I ask what zone do you live in?
Hi Kathy😊I garden in Indiana zone 5.
is teh wood in your planters untreated pine?
Yes we used untreated pine
can you share details fo the auger you used. i need it bad! which power drill and auger
I bought a starter auger set from power planter a few years ago. I used the 3” x 7” auger and hubs Dewalt hammer drill. A cheap drill from Lowe’s. You get much bigger augers and better drills. They’re just expensive.
@@ThymeToGarden1975 thanks for your prompt response. I have really compacted clay soil and just dont have the muscle power to spade it up
Where did u get these arches, please?
I ordered the arches online from Spring Hill Nurseries the Monet Arch.
Hi , please can you share the link for fence or what exactly it is called, I checked at Lowe’s I couldn’t find the one you installed.
Sure thing, I added the link in the description below the video.
Thank you so much.
such a beautiful backyard, but what a waste of a nice tree. what did you do to the area where the old beds are?
Thank you! In our area they are considered trash trees because they tend to drop limbs in ice storms and are short lived trees but I did cry when the crew arrived. I'm busy planning a new garden bed where the old beds were. Thanks for your kind comment and for watching.
@@ThymeToGarden1975 I noticed that you just put weed barrier cloth right on top of the grass without doing anything. Do you have any concern that grass/weed will grow through it in the long run? Also what kind of material do you put down in the walkway/path in the garden bed area? I really like your backyard. It just looks so "clean".
@@butette Before laying down the weed barrier, we cut the grass as low as possible almost shaving it, then covered it with the weed barrier. On top of the pathways we put down 2 inches of hardwood bark mulch. Thankfully we've had no grass issues.
So sad to see tree go😢
Agreed! If the tree was good for our area, I would never have removed it. I was advised to take it out since Bradford Pears tend to drop limbs in ice storms and have a life span of only 25 years. Our garden centers don't sell them anymore. It was a very sad day! I did plant 2 October Glory Maples in its honor and I sure missed seeing its blossoms this spring.❤️
Is there *ANY* chance you would rent out your hubby for a weekend?
😊🌹🌱🌻🌳🌺😁
Omgosh your comment had me laughing out loud 🤣. You made my day!!❤️
I’ve been considering getting the concrete corners from Home Depot for my raised beds. Do you like them and would recommend them? It sure seems easier and a bit more design friendly to use them.
I do recommend them. My previous beds were screwed together and the project took a lot longer. Concrete corners makes quick work especially if your ground is level and you can easily replace boards if needed. The bricks do shift some but you could pound rebar into the holes to keep them in place. I didn’t bother I just kick them back if need be😂
What wood did you use?
We used untreated pine.
Where do you buy the fences?
Hi Sylvia, I bought them at Lowes, here's the link www.lowes.com/pd/No-Dig-Actual-3-37-ft-x-4-12-ft-Grand-Empire-Powder-coated-Steel-Pressed-Point-Decorative-Metal-Fence-Panel/3028522
Lovely garden. How did (do) you deal with the deer? If there’s deer in your area.
Hi there. Thank you 🥰. We don’t have any deer. Only rabbits.
@@ThymeToGarden1975
You’re very fortunate. I have rabbits too, but it’s the gaggle of deer I have to deal with every year.😅
@@ThymeToGarden1975 how do you keep the rabbits out of your veggies?
@@kutmulc We bought “dig defense” they are metal spikes that you knock into the ground under the fence. This keeps most of them out. Sometimes a baby bunny will slip through but we just guide them back out.
@@ThymeToGarden1975 But I mean, they'll just hop through the arbors and into the garden, right?
I thought the dog was a giant mole or rat for a second
😂
