Patsy Cline - Stupid Cupid [Americana] HD Color Remixed

On crutches Patsy Cline performed "Stupid Cupid" written by Neil Sedaka & Howard Greenfield, at the Tulsa Municipal Auditorium Cimarron Ballroom Concert on July 29, 1961. She had recently broken her leg in a car accident, but insisted on performing despite her injuries. She sang the song with such passion and emotion that the audience was moved to tears. Her performance of "Stupid Cupid" is considered one of her greatest, and it is a testament to her strength and determination.
Cline was a rising star in country music at the time of the accident. She had already released several hit singles, and she was on the verge of becoming a major star. The car accident could have easily derailed her career, but she refused to let it. She underwent surgery to repair her leg, face, and arm and she was back on stage just a few weeks later.
Cline's performance of "Stupid Cupid" in Tulsa was a triumph. It was performed with Billy Dozier on electric guitar, Leon McAuliffe pedal steel, Curly Lewis & Bob White on fiddles, Pee Wee Calhoun piano, Joe Allen bass, Richard Dozier drums, and Jack Lloyd on alto saxophone. She sang the song with such feeling and intensity that the audience was captivated. Her performance was a reminder of her talent and her determination. She was a true star, and she would go on to have a successful career that was cut short by her untimely airplane death in 1963.
The recording of Cline's performance of "Stupid Cupid" was released on the album "Patsy Cline Live at the Grand Ole Opry." It is considered one of her best live performances, and it is a testament to her talent and her legacy.
She had recorded the song for Bradley Studios in Nashville the prior fall, September 1960, with Hank Garland (shown here) on electric guitar, and Marvin Hughes on piano.

She was awesome. She was from Winchester VA. I remember when she was on the Opry. I was a kid when she got killed. I was a kid but I never will forget it

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that she had all of that happen to her. I am glad she was a big Connie Francis fan like i am and covered this. I would have loved to have heard her sound as she continued to grow throughout the years because what she put out was great. Who knows what other genres she would have done over time.

This icon wow what did she not know her songs went right through the moon,, nothing nothing like her every song meant something her life was not much of good luck she had a lot of illness and looks like she did not have much of good luck., she had nice home and alot of fortune singing and then the day came when she died in the accident with the plane. What a horrifying way 0f her life, l use to love watching her sing she had style swag pizazz, she was a strong singer. But all. Lefted aside there will. Never be but only one Patsy Cline
