- By far my best run ever out of any category/any game, really sucks I choked 1:19 right at the end but the pressure was impossible to manage. This run had insanely good luck in some sections, namely 1:50 cabin, all good novis, no clocktower boulder hit/stagger nor archer memes, 5-2 scene skip, no hits in 5-4, etc. The category however is far from dead as there were (as always) many timelosses in this run, some REALLY dumb in fact.
Main timesaves:
5s crows 1-3
7s del lago
2s church
5s mendez
3s 3-4, really unlucky death animations
2s 4-1 hallway
2.5 lava room, safe flash pickup
3s novis 3, safe strat + 2 striker shots
2s mines
2s 4-4 end
1s trash room
1s stairs
2s maiden
1s wrecking ball
1s 5-2 end
2s u3
3s krauser
Of course there's a lot more timesave than just this, mainly silly 0.3s to 0.9s mistakes and timesaves that rely on good rng (like 3-3 flash skip), but I decided not to include those here to keep this somewhat realistic. The potential for 1:19 is crazy, but so is the level of consistency, speed, and luck required to go this far.

The most ridiculous thing is this was literally a first try PB AGAIN, just like my 1:20:22, after a week break. Makes it look incredibly sus, but I swear something inside the game changes when we don't play for a certain amount of time. That being said I've improved quite a lot in this last year (huge shoutout to Derek for this as he has taught me a big portion of what I know btw) and I've come a long way from my 1:21:12 in which I thought I had peaked. If you have any questions about this run I don't mind answering them.
try to take 2 weeks break next time and maybe you'll get 01:19 😁
Just wondering if it's a strat, but why do you go into the options menu so often? I figured it was to line up shots more effectively in some places, as it stops the in game timer and gives you a second to see where you're aiming, right? But other places it looked like you were trying to manipulate ai with the pausing? Or was that just to give you a split second to react to attacks and stuff?
The aiming on the game is quite unreliable due to both Leon's shaky hands and mouse vertical acceleration being pretty random so pausing to make sure the laser is where it's supposed to be helps a ton. Pausing does not manipulate any rng, it just gives me more time to analyze my surroundings and adapt according to what I read from the enemies or from the environment.

Absolutely amazing man , i basically grew up on RE4 on the PS2 back then i did 100% complete it through out years on multiple consoles , ive played most versions of re4 ( GC , Wii , PS2 , PS3 , PS4 ) after around 2016 i in general got bored with gaming but just recently i had got RE4-8 on steam and i just completed this myself for the first time again in forever , took me a total of in game 15 hours but it would say alot less if i didnt AFK paused / on save screen some times. Im gonna go through it again on professional and i wanted to look here for strats especially against the bosses and since im not speedrunning i can get all the jewelry for the extra ptas haha. Im very glad people play this golden game still till this day even on all different ports. Your a golden gamer for achieving this 🪄 if you plan on going for a better time , i wish you the best of luck ⚡️
Edit: i just realized you decided to use a green laser , i aswell did the same thing as i went to try and FPS unlock and seen the RGB code for it in that process 💀 it helps quite a bit honestly so much more visible.

Wow. Great job. I don’t think people quite understand how hard this is. Re4 is one of the most competitive speedruns in the world.

This was a joy to watch. I usually prefer watching these things on livestreams for the tension but even knowing you made it I still sat on the edge of my seat with a wide smile the whole time. Good job, perfect even!
Not perfect :) this will be beaten soon enough and by quite a bit, a couple new optimizations have been developed

Dude it takes me like 6 hours to beat this game and I'm tired as heck by the end of it. Amazing you have the ability to focus and get through the entire game this quickly.
