As someone who VERY CASUALLY enjoys Mortal Kombat 1 and the FGC enough to know who Sonicfox is, I was so psyched to see him playing Rain, Cyrax, the combo i’ve been playing with!

When Sonicfox Wins The Viewership Wins
Now THAT is a fighting game!
These two are the opponents I like to have in all my matches.
Damn! The final in a tournament held in my country had one idiot using the most OP combination until now, which is Johnny + Cyrax and the other guy was a Havik that kept playing super defensive with the objective of winning by time out. Looked more like a circus than a fighting game. What a shitty finals it was and sadly 70% of my online opponents are idiots that think this game is Cirque Du Soleil.

Anybody know why he puts down a portal and doesn't use it? Rain mains? Is that just for mind games?
You can use the portal to get back into play faster so you can use f21 portal and do it again to keep up pressure
If they go by your portal you can make do splash damage. So its good for spacing and chip.
Rains 114 string is -6 on block, but if you cancel into portal it becomes -2 on block. That’s probably one of the reasons why Sonic does it, also it doesn’t hurt to have a portal on screen since you can do some cool setups with it.
F213 is unsafe on block, portal has faster recovery frames. He is basically hit confirming the launcher.
Using portal or cyrax is a mindgane mixup after f21

Sonicfox is so great an acclimated....people mistakenly route for the underdog after one good combo
I know the game just came out, but the amout of dropped combos or hits that completely miss is wild. It seems like the timing and distance of what the characters can do is off. If that makes sense. A top teir player shouldn't miss a jump in overhead like i saw Shao do a few times and you know he's practiced that like crazy. I blame the game.
