What a waste of engineering talent and time on an overpriced, fragile, obsolete medium. Vinyl is just a trendy fashion statement, not a suitably robust way to store recorded music -- but it makes folks $$$$, so it will be around until folks get wise to what a dead end it is circa 2020.

@@utub1473 -- Many, many times. Thanks for asking. I was professionally involved in audio when vinyl was king and once digital recording and mastering got past it's considerable initial growing pains I was happy to see "plastic ware" go where it still belongs: in the proverbial dustbin of history. I do miss the larger cover art and space for literate notes -- aside from that, I say good riddance.
These days I have neither the room nor the patience for such a space-consuming, high-maintenance, and intrinsically fragile and flawed medium. Lossless files allow me to simply enjoy the sound of well recorded music without de facto ritualistic playback procedures or hefty, costly LP-spinning hardware with their delicate, similarly expensive input transducers.

How can you limit the bandwidth and not effect the slew-rate? You say they are not necessarily tied together (for this I'll assume gains are fixed). The only case I can think of is by not passing the low frequency stuff, you could narrow the bandwidth but why would you do that other than for rumble? What about the flavor of the RIAA compensation in your designs?

What will have been the point of all this current fuss and indulgence in the vinyl record resurgence, when we are clearly moving toward a world that will be dominated by various forms of direct stream digital platforms and records will again be abandoned in favour of DSD, as they were in the 1980's in favour of CD's, for good reasons?

Don't know what pricey is to you, but how much you spend is entirely up to you. Like amplifiers, DACs, speakers, Streamers, camera equipment, bicycles, etc...you can get quality equipment for a fair price..or you can spend many times as much for higher quality. Amassing a vinyl collection can get expensive, except there's lot's of great mint and near mint, used LP's on eBay, in record stores, etc.
