‘Tis the season for watching other people’s preorders while crying over my lack of funds since I’m an unemployed student😔
For someone who recently graduated from college and is now working I understand. Things are hard now but there are better things on the horizon. Don't give up yet.
@@_Cyborne_ I for sure won’t! I’ve been collecting figures and dolls for 3 years now, and just have a pretty good collection! I’m very happy with it, especially considering I have other collections as well (kpop albums and books). Sometimes I just get envious because I can’t afford scale figures lol
There will always be new figures sometimes even better in the market so the way I see it, there is never a shortage of product figures.

Chloe, good to hear your thoughts with preorders. I also preordered the nendos for Frieren, Fern and Miyo. For scales, I’m preordering less these days since a lot of the 2023 released figures that I preordered tanked hard in price in the aftermarket … 😂
omg same, most of these preorders were made before i realized how terrible the market is now🥲 of all the figures I got last year I think only one or two didn’t tank immediately LOL

I was also really on the fence for Silverwing! I felt the same way about her effects. I almost got it because the preorder bonus acrylic looked gorgeous. Hopefully they release one for her HoR or HoTr version😭

Well said about the Bronya figure, I think I might have to ask a friend to 3d print a better base or add like rocks or something to make it not just a giant blue blob.
i have over 20 preorders for 2024 and the only overlap here are the frieren/fern nendoroids haha but that takemi scale looks really tempting 👀
I am SO excited for Street Witch Lily. There's a video of a prototype on her MFC page and the quality seems ~immaculate~, and I'm in love with the vibe and aesthetic.
Also have Dusk and S on PO and really looking forward to those too!

I believe Herta has a posable figure by Revoltech releasing sometime this year
And, not a nendo, but she also has a mini figure where she just kind of spins around it’s so cute lol☺️

i was going to preorder ayaka, but i was a bit disappointed in xiao's lack of shading so i'm on the fence about buying another apex figure. he's still beautiful though! i'm sure ayaka will be too. and fischl is so expensive but i love the extra pose
I'm also torn with the Bronya figure. On the one hand Broyna herself looks amazing, but the effects around her make it look so weird and cheap. I so wanted to preorder her, but will sadly just take wait and see approach.

I preordered Dusk too! In short, she's a "limited" character introduced during Chinese New Years along with her siblings, Nian, Ling and Chongyue. They're all "dragons". While she wields a giant blade, she is actually an AoE caster that summons dragonlings, lol.

Sad we got a APHO bronya before herrscher of reason. Makes my 1/8 HOT and 1/8 HOV look awkward in the collection without that last piece of the puzzle... at least there's a herrscher elysia coming ig lol (definitely pre-ordered)
HoR would’ve been SO good!! If Bronya were to get another figure in the future I hope it’s HoR so we can complete the OG Herscherr figure set🙏
I saw the Ayaka figure and her base is so good, her pose and everything looks really good from Apex. Unfortunately my only gripe with Apex is their plastic is very cheap, I hope her base isnt to plasticky or bendable. I got the Xiao figure from Apex and compared to my Gojo Shibuya scramble, its much much lighter weightless with its rods being bendable and thin. Meanwhile Gojo is solid and heavy. The quality just isnt there, strictly talking the material not the design. As far as design goes they are doing a really good job. I might get Ayaka... might. She is a wifey so she might not tank as the much as the male figures go.

I think I was tempted to get at least one of the Dusks, but then someone came out with a prototype of her qipao skin, so I'm opting for that one. She's basically an immortal dragon whose paintings become alternate worlds.
I've had my eyes on that Miku for a while, but never went for it since it was more expensive. It does seem Mikus go down in price drastically, as I learned from Eternal Miku last year.
That Kimono S you're skipping does fit my aesthetic, but not at that premium price. I'll see if it goes down.
Kamisato Ayaka was preordered the second I saw it. The chances I will take for an Ayaka figure are 0. Still waiting for that Yae Miko figure, there's a really good garage kit that taunts me.
Azur Lane has some very "anime extra" designs to their women, but they're also very pretty. I'm planning to pick up some but they seem to go down in price after release. Currently waiting and seeing on that Jean Bart releasing around spring, the kimono one. Also have the more snowy Ying Swei preordered, not the recent one with her legs in the air. And waiting on one of the Musashis to be the centerpiece of a fox girl shelf. I have a lot of kimono figures but they're not really a common release anyway.

I'm planning to get the Alter one since it looks like it'll be more unique looking, Wings just looks like she going to stand there. Regardless, I'm not one for the rigging aspect of AL figures, so I may abandon them if the rigging has to come with them, or chose the one where it's less prominent.
I think I can only accept HI3 figures from APEX. It's strange, but it's the only brand that gets the HI3 vibes correct.
And lol same with AL figures - I never played the game before, but damn they have some of the most appealing girls in the industry. Picked up Atago and Takao and been stuck on the AL buying streak ever since!
The Atago and Takao figures with the two of them together is so good I think about picking them up sometimes 🫢
@@pathtostarlight cultured and you must collect them. I have them separately cuz they get an umbrella each that way! On a side note - since you like AL's design, there's another char from a studio AL's publisher manages - Lingguang. If they ever make one (hopium because they are making one for another char already), I will swipe my card so hard it just breaks.
Hey Chloe, just came across your channel, very nice! Just wondering where you buy most of your figures that they allow you to cancel so many? I'm actually based in Japan and use Amiami, I've cancelled a few already with them, but I know from what others have said, my account will be banned if I do too many times. Do you use Otakumode mostly? Or you ship from Japan too? Thanks!!!

I mainly use AmiAmi (the global store), and they are the most lenient when it comes to cancelling preorders in my opinion.
Based on my experience with them, they allow preorder cancellations as long as the order hasn’t been invoiced yet.
I think the risk of getting banned is only serious if you try to cancel something that’s already been invoiced.
When I request a cancellation, I try to do it at least a month before they release. I’ve yet to have any requests denied, but ymmv 🫡
That said, I think the rules are different for preowned items.
They should have a FAQ where they clarify the rules on cancellations. If anything, their support team is very helpful 🙂↕️
