    I'm just gonna explain the "frog who rigged the lottery" line because I learned about Voltaire in school and it's the one thing I remember because I find it interesting and kinda funny.
    Pretty much Voltaire and his friends did the math and figured out that the prize for the French lottery was greater than the cost for all the tickets, so they bought all the tickets. Multiple times I believe.

    "This type of arrogance is sure to be expected, from men who speak of wisdom with no clue of what respect is."
    Easily my favorite line. I find this so profound for some reason.

      the thing is, eastern philosophy focuses on logical thought or self improvement, whereas western philosophy varies but voltaire and nietzche were both thought provokers, voltaire was anti conformity, and nietzche was all about overcoming the difficulties of existance, so technically they knew what respect was, they just didnt care about it as to voltaire it meant conforming to society, and to nietzche it meant admitting defeat in overcoming hardships of life

      @Fireball12 okay so quickly:
      "..beef with The Frank" : frank was a nickname for francois, his first name, and also a term used by the English for a frenchman (like americans are called yanks). Implying he is the number 1 french man.
      "Who hangs with B. Frank" : Benjamin Franklin, whom he met and embraced at one point i believe.
      "Giving ladies Beef Franks" : beef franks are a type of sausage/hot dog. Hes implying he fucks. Alot.

    What I love about this rap battle is that philosophy is divisive by its very nature. Even people with similar philosophies will debate about nuance. It could be argued that philosophy is the art of argument, even. So the fact that teammates turn on eachother in a philosophy rap battle is a GREAT detail to incorporate lol

    "Ubermentsch" translates roughly to a superior man. Part of Nietzches philosophy is to work to make yourself an Ubermentsch rather than an Untermentsch, which would be the equivalent of an under-achiever. If you've ever heard of nihilism then that has largely been associated with Nietzche. Though his most famous sound quote is "God is dead".
    Also, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think the name Confusious translates to "wisdom of the old man", they're not sure if confusious was 1 person, or a group of people, or just an amalgamation of wisdom that they had long since lost the source.

    In Nietzschean philosophy, the "ubermensch," or "overman," refers to the purposed higher stage of human development. Nietzche believed that through life affirmation, intense individualism, and self-improvement, any individual could rise and become a being that could change the course of human history. Ludwig von Beethoven, Alexander the Great, and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe are his most significant inspirations for such a concept.

    Ok a few things about the western philosophers .
    Socrates its the father of wester philosophy , he influenced a lot of famous greece philosophers and was one of the first to speak out against people using clever retoric techniques to distort the truth and how it was a danger for democracy, his famous method was the Socratic method were when you asked him something he needled you with questions until you deduced the answer, he was condemned to die by drinking poison because he `` corromped the minds of the youth´´, his disciples tried to free him but in his mind the law was above all else so he voluntarily drank the poison.
    Voltaire its one of the most influents philosophers of the modern age, he put the bases of the french revolution and the American Constitution, the values of free speech , tolerance of others ideas and everyone being equal in the eyes of the law are his.
    He also was one of the first to push for taxes proportional to the wealth of the individual.
    Nitzche its the one I have less knowledge about, for what I remember his whole deal was to better yourself and build yourself to the best version of yourself that you can be an ``ubermentch´´ aka a superman.
    Sadly Hitler took some of his phrases and twisted them to justify his atrocities even if Nitzche would have hated him that's how its remembered.
