Hello Hi, it's TRIVIA TIME As usual, DB Wiki is where to find these 1) The connections between Aang and Edward are that they both are young heroes with the ability to manipulate the environment around them, being able to do so to a greater capability/capacity than other such manipulators due to special traits; Aang is the Avatar, giving him the ability to manipulate all four elements, whilst Edward's Combat Alchemy lets him use Alchemy without the need for Transmutation Circles. I agree with the outcome. Aang is most comfortable with Airbending, it was the element he learned first at a very young age alongside many other Airbending masters and students. Even early in the series he used Airbending to enhance his speed, ride on a ball of air, and all kinds of childish tricks, while he was playing around. It is very easy for him to control and use in everyday situations to assist him with things. In a battle like this, he would naturally be way faster than Ed, have quicker reaction time, be able to create or close distance between them in an instant, dodge his attacks, and launch surprise attacks too fast for Ed to react in time to dodge or block. As they highlighted, alchemy requires "clapping" your hands together and occasionally drawing symbols, unlike bending which Aang can use while his body is restrained to expel air from his mouth in order to attack or move around. As soon as Aang injures either of Ed's arms, Ed would be a sitting duck. And yeah, the Avatar State is very OP and I doubt Ed could handle that. Aang has so many options available to him that would mess Ed up, like creating a huge tornado or earthquake that would annihilate everything in the area, and Ed would have no way to escape fast enough.
The 2003 version of FMA is definitely worth a watch. The first half of the series roughly corresponds to the first ten episodes of Brotherhood, with a couple filler episodes but it's not rushed and allows for greater character development during that arc. It was being produced while Arakawa was still writing the manga so eventually they caught up to her and she gave them her blessing to create their own novel ending to the manga. You can think of it as an alternate timeline/universe of events. It's actually very, very good, and personally between the two versions I prefer it (heresy I know), so definitely check it out, just make sure to watch the FMA film "Conqueror of Shamballa" after the last episode, it's the grand finale of the series. Also if you'd like more FMA in general, there's the film 'The Sacred Star of Milos' which is a standalone epic that you could head-canon as fitting in somewhere in the twenties of the Brotherhood series.
the stuff you didnt see were from the Avatar comics. before they did Legend of Korra. they gave us comics to show us what happened after the show ended
Ed had an alchemy fight with Mustang in the manga and in the first anime. There are some fun things brotherhood missed out on from the manga that the first anime had even though brotherhood is more true to the manga (eg: Mustang and tiny miniskirts, Ed and Mustang fighting in an exhibition match as Ed's reassessment test.
Quick little tip for Ghost Rider vs Lobo, when you get to the Lobo part throw all logic and reason out the window. They will have the zero use in this fight.
Captain planet was an old convoluted eco show... A superhero whose powers literally rely on the sun and being pollution free. Think superman with his kryptonite being pollution and looking very flamboyant...
Ed's feats were pulled from the older series Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood followed the manga while the original FMA was its own story it even got a movie
I think some of the scenes you didn't recognize from Brotherhood is actually from Full Metal Alchemist They're basically the same exact story but happen In-Between one another. Brotherhood fills in the gaps that FMA has. It really confused me as a kid because i found out the hard way there were two versions of the story.
I think the original FMA is viewed as a still good classic for the time by fans but it has the problem of the Hellsing TV anime series in which it deviated from the source material into straight up fanfiction territory not too long in. So when Brotherhood, an actual full length adaptation of the completed manga came out, it was like getting the actual story that was meant to be.
You: Lobo? Who’s that? Everyone else: you’re in for a ride. For your in formation the ghost rider and Lobo are both bounty hunters with some super human feats
14:15 reminded me of this: "But would I be a good Messiah with my low self-esteem? If I don't believe in myself would that be blasphemy?" -Jimmy Pop Also i feel like Aang's voice is a reference to the episode when the saw that play
Outside of shows like One Punch Man and DBZ and those types of intense power scaling shows, the Avatar is one of the most powerful tbh. The avatar has an insane amount of power, only limited by mental blocks, morals, and access to bendables.
This was a really fun battle. I wish it was a bit closer, but Ed really couldn’t win in many ways. I think my only wish for this fight was that it wasn’t a sprite fight. But that’s it. You should really watch FMA 2003. It’s on par with BH in my mind and adds a great deal of context to BH. And BH kinda needs that context to work to its best ability in the rules of the world. Also it’s a fight between 2 pacifists. Ed eventually kills Father, and Aang PERSONALLY kills the vulture wasp while the avatar state has a HUGE body count. And that’s a different consciousness. Also was hoping for your input last comment! Let’s me put into account extra info when I’m analyzing!
@@theduckgoesmoo Kyoshi does have quite the body count. She did live to be 200 natural. But I think the biggest body count was Avatar Yang-Chen. She was the air bender before Aang. She I think also drove one of the largest wedges between spirits and people. Which created Avatar Koruk’s era of peace where he did next to nothing before his wife got attacked by Koh the face stealer. Was still wondering why you didn’t add input to the last MHA comment.
I'm not sure, but I think I might have been the person who commented that about Ed being an atheist even though he met God? It's definitely something I've commented on reactions before.
Yeah, it's pretty clear why Aang won. Ed is strong, but Aang is RIDICULOUS. The Avatar State really ends this fight, Ed really can't compete with that. Edward COULD pull out a win, but he'd need to use Scar's alchemy attacks on Aang quickly and just keep pressing him. Aang however specializes in avoid and evade as an Airbender, plus with Seismic Sense he's nearly impossible to sneak up on. He would certainly keep his distance from Ed as much as possible, and with his mobility he can certainly do it. Ed's victory is much less reliable than Aangs, so Aang wins. Alright! Ghost Rider vs Lobo! You're gonna enjoy this one I think. Oh boy!
I fully agree with this, also I think they were using both Brotherhood and the regular anime for Ed's stats. Brotherhood is basicly the same story, just without the filler
"Is this brotherhood or is this the original" 😦 Wha-? brotherhood hood is the original because it closely follows the manga as it came out- the other just went on a random tangent of episodes cause it went ahead of the manga.
in a calculated battle, like death battle, aang wins. if it were a story, edward probably would. as for lobo, to give a faulty comparison, he's wolverine meets thanos meets deadpool. yes, that insane
5:54 The final of the series was 4 episodes as one, like the four elements? 8:16 Actually, they mostly use the manga which was first, then the original anime which had feats supported by the manga, then Brotherhood which is a far more faithful adaptation of the manga. 12:15 That's from the original anime, and something similar did happen in the manga as Ed and Roy Mustang did have a friendly fight. 14:05 Ed isn't technically an atheist. An atheist, by definition, is someone who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods. Ed has met the Truth, the closest thing to a god in his world, he just doesn't believe the Truth deserves any worship. Not hard to understand why. 18:23 That happened in the comics set after the series. It's kinda obvious it didn't happen in the show because it's A STILL IMAGE!
If he didn't have the Avatar State, Ed could maybe beat Aang, but Ed doesn't stand a chance against the combined power of thousands of past lives all at once
Ed is five foot five? That doesn't seem too ungodly short. Not short enough to be so sensitive about it. But I guess everyone has to have some sort of personality quirk. Also, Lobo is basically DC's Deadpool. Well, kinda. They seem determined to make Harley Quinn fill that role but Lobo has been doing it for years (The Creeper would be another good character for that role but nobody remembers who he is)
I laughed harder than I have in a long time when boomstick said he ate a bunch of glowsticks rofl (no idea why I found that so funny compared to things I have seen or heard this year lol). Very glad I wasn't eating or drinking anything.
Didn't Rooster Teeth themselves fire Vic a few years ago? And it was even BEFORE any trial, making it on suspicion alone which strikes me is very unprofessional.
Ed never had a chance for victory, but this isn't what makes me see this as a spite match. The thing that would have made me see this as a spite match is the fact that he is boiled down to "haha short angry dude with size complex"... if it wasn't for the fact that Aang's character was just as butchered as Ed's . Sure, he is not that violent by Death Battle standard but by standards of how he was portrayed in Avatar TLAB, he is downright bloodthirsty.
They used the fact that Edward wouldn’t use a philosopher stone in the battle cause it’s Canonical but Aang wouldn’t kill anyone 😭 but it is DEATH battle someone’s got to win hee hee
Yeah... Ed is an atheist in both continuities but to be fair, after the life he lived and the sins he committed (despite his good intentions) it’s as good a coping mechanism as anything else. Also, “better” is subjective. The first series had to do their own storyline since the manga was still ongoing and Brotherhood follows the manga completely. Both series are really good, and I’d argue the first series did some things better, it’s just Brotherhood is the canon continuity.
I would say the first half of the first series is better than the first half of brotherhood, but brotherhood's second half is a lot better than most of the original series. They still have their own strenghts and i definetley agree that there are things the first series did that were certainly better, but i would still say that brotherhood overall is the more complete package at least. I think the first series does get a really bad rep for how it kinda botched the ending pretty hard, while Brotherhood on the other side had a nearly perfect ending, and since the ending is the last thing in peoles mind's, i think most just leave both series with that idea that brotherhood is objectviley better in every way, which i do not think is right either.
@@calebgoodman2076 My personal opinion on it is a bit split. Without the movie, the ending is kind of unsalvagable in my opinion, but with the movie it kinda throws a weird twist into the entire show that i dont really agree with. The entire twist thats connected to the movie is just something i really dont think the series ever needed, making a lot of the ending itself as well as the movie feel very unnecessary to me. It is not technically bad, but i just dont really see a point to it, you know ? Brotherhood meanwhile managed to keep everything nicley wrapped up and neatly self-contained, all in all, there isnt really any point at the ending of Brotherhood that seems pointless, pretty much every lose end is tied up nicley and the ending is overall satisfying. Which i think definetley makes Brotherhood's ending very good. The first series on the other hand, with the inclusion of the movie, just throws so many questions into the world building of the entire show that the ending feels very messy and unresolved as a whole, if you ask me. Dont get me wrong, there is definetley stuff that is good about it, and there are definetley things about it i enjoyed as well, but i think it just overall leaves you much less satisfied than what Brotherhood did.
so aang 100% wins this but the measure of how strong fathers beam atk was was done completely wrong... just cause we only saw it carve away the building doesnt mean thats where it would stop... we even see that it was still blasting off behind it
This felt like another one sided fight. Not sure why it was these two also. Wouldn't Ed vs Toph make more sense? 3:10 Sozin did plan it out, preparing his armies and timing it with the comet. Hence why it took him over 10 years to start
maybe, since earth is the element Ed knows most, but then again, it wouldn't change much since once you get rid of one of Ed's arms, that's pretty much game since his casting speed is lowered dramatically.
*spoilers Don't read if you haven't watched the Avatar cartoon* He got his orange glider destroyed in season 3 episode 1, the blue one's his replacement; did you seriously forget that?
Despite all the numbers on Aang’s side, I feel Ed still had respectable odds of winning. He was smarter and had plenty of versatility Aang had never seen before. Not to mention Destruction Alchemy was a solid instant win move on paper. If Ed was able to stall the fight out long enough to strategize (and avoid breaking his auto-mail arm) he could reasonably take a win fair and square. But I can’t deny that Aang’s raw power made the odds of something like that happening very low. But enough about this battle. Let’s talk about next time. Lobo is… *sigh* He’s DC’s equivalent to Deadpool, but he trades off extensively breaking the fourth wall in favor of being just a gigantic, overpowered asshole. You hate to love him and love to hate him.
😾I don't like it, this fight was one sided Edward had no chance aren't they supposed to pick similar powered people or at least let them be made by the same company like Bayonetta and Dante
Day 162 of asking for game theorists fnaf I am genuinely running out of things to say.... WELP BACK TO THE BEGINNING Ahem.. By Game theorists fnaf i mean the video game conspiracy channel Game Theorists hosted by charismatic internet host Matpat and his fnaf series is by far his most popul- *gets struck by lightning* ...i get the message world
literally none of the Ben vs Hal debunks on youtube make any sense at all, I'm sad you want to waste your time on them. The post-fight verdict just had like one or two sentences poorly worded, that's the only real flaw, the result is still absolutely correct. In fact they made it look a lot closer than it really is. Even just the black boxes with text within the actual episode tells you more than enough to remove the debunk arguments, who make very little sense even just by themselves.
Some say Aang and Ed's characters were not well represented. But anyway, the name of this song is "Elements of Alchemy" and it's the reason I don't listen to songs before the battle ends, as something like using the "Avatar State" music at the very end spoils the fight.
I don't think I like you knowing stuff. 😆

MY THOUGHTS!! (Spoilers for the outcome)
Ohhhh boy, this fight...
This fight is pretty hated amongst the Death Battle community as well, thought not NEARLY to the same extent as Ben 10 VS Green Lantern or the two Goku VS Supermans.
The main gripe people have with this episode is how it poorly portrayed both characters.
Aang, a character who tried his hardest to spare the life of a genocidal tyrant and the man who was responsible for the most deaths in his universe because he wanted to find another way to resolve things without resorting to bloodshed, says he is "left no choice" when a random stranger gets into a fight with him over a misunderstanding and traps him under some rocks.
Now obviously this is a death battle, so you have to end with one character killing the other, but most Avatar fans and Death Battle community members have expressed that they could've done so much better than what they did in the episode. Either they should have:
a) Aang kill Edward on accident (you could say that it would be disrespectful to both characters for Aang to win on accident, but it wasn't like Edward could really...do anything in the state he was in)
b) Aang show genuine remorse over killing Edward
or
c) Aang should've just not said anything at all, because at least no response would've been better than a bad response
Edward meanwhile gets reduced to short jokes, and they ride that out RIGHT to the very end. the stuff you didnt see were from the Avatar comics. before they did Legend of Korra. they gave us comics to show us what happened after the show ended
I cannot wait until your reaction to Ghost Rider vs. Lobo! It’s definitely up there as one of my favorite battles in the series. So darn entertaining.
It’s gonna be bonkers
Quick little tip for Ghost Rider vs Lobo, when you get to the Lobo part throw all logic and reason out the window. They will have the zero use in this fight.
Seriously how did they come up with him
@@theduckgoesmoo it weirdly kind of makes sense when you learn more about the character.
Just so you know, Ghost Rider vs. Lobo is going to be yet another Marvel vs. DC episode.
Next Video= Marvel’s Spirit of vengeance (ghost rider) vs DC’Main Man (LOBO)aka Stan Lee’s favorite DC character.
Captain planet was an old convoluted eco show...
A superhero whose powers literally rely on the sun and being pollution free.
Think superman with his kryptonite being pollution and looking very flamboyant...
Ed's VA here is Alejandro Saab (AKA KaggyFilms).
Ed's feats were pulled from the older series Fullmetal Alchemist
Brotherhood followed the manga while the original FMA was its own story it even got a movie
From what I remember the original came before the manga right?
Idk
A few of these are from the 2003 full metal
I think some of the scenes you didn't recognize from Brotherhood is actually from Full Metal Alchemist
They're basically the same exact story but happen In-Between one another.
Brotherhood fills in the gaps that FMA has. It really confused me as a kid because i found out the hard way there were two versions of the story.
The more you know the more exciting the battles are. You bet on someone but you still can't predict everything so there is stress.
Ghost rider vs lobo is another marvel vs dc match up
I think the original FMA is viewed as a still good classic for the time by fans but it has the problem of the Hellsing TV anime series in which it deviated from the source material into straight up fanfiction territory not too long in. So when Brotherhood, an actual full length adaptation of the completed manga came out, it was like getting the actual story that was meant to be.
that duel with mustang was not brotherhood.
It gets weird in the second half but still an interesting story.
I'm very concerned about boom stick
You: Lobo? Who’s that?
Everyone else: you’re in for a ride.
For your in formation the ghost rider and Lobo are both bounty hunters with some super human feats
Don't worry Duck, Captain Planet is old as hell, I'm not surprised you've never heard of it, as it aired in the early 90s.

Yes Kaggyfilms (Alejandro Saab) voices Ed in this Death Battle
If you're still planning on catching up with The Legend Of Korra, now's a good time considering Korra was in one of the most recent death battles
Ed is voiced by Alejandro Saab aka Kaggyfilms in this battle
some of it is from the 2003 version of fullmetal alchemist the original but slightly different
yah they used some full metal and brotherhood

Also i feel like Aang's voice is a reference to the episode when the saw that play
Outside of shows like One Punch Man and DBZ and those types of intense power scaling shows, the Avatar is one of the most powerful tbh. The avatar has an insane amount of power, only limited by mental blocks, morals, and access to bendables.
Never mess with Bonzu Pippinpaddleopsicopolis III!
The Aang feat came from the comics. Which also revealed Zuko's mother's fate.
Like the content and the reactions . I will be subscribing 🥰♥️
I love both characters, so I'm fine with the outcome.
Me too
The next fight: Ghost Rider vs Lobo.
Me: Ah yes, the angel/demon that destroys universes vs the guy banned from heaven and hell.
i would argue that Ghost Rider vs Lobo is my favorite death battle. they actually do both characters VERY well
This was a really fun battle.
All of the kills are from Kyoshi or whatever her name is
@@theduckgoesmoo Kyoshi does have quite the body count.
I'm actually going to go check my fmab videos and see cause I think I pinned it
I think your mind will be blown when you learn about Lobo. Something to look forward to!
Oh boy!
Hi, would you react to shounic's videos? (all of them are about Team Fortress 2 so I don't know which ones to put here exactly)
I fully agree with this, also I think they were using both Brotherhood and the regular anime for Ed's stats. Brotherhood is basicly the same story, just without the filler
Brotherhood and the 2003 series are actually totally different stories shortly after the Nina Tucker part.
Lobo is kinda like a mix of Superman and deadpool powers
Lobo is like DC Deadpool on five different overdoses of illegal substance. Just a heads up.
Alatrism: The acknowledgement that gods exist without worshiping them.
Is this the first video where he knows about both fighters?
I think it's the first time I know a lot about both fighters for sure
"Is this brotherhood or is this the original" 😦
Wha-? brotherhood hood is the original because it closely follows the manga as it came out- the other just went on a random tangent of episodes cause it went ahead of the manga.
Edward Elric in this is voiced by my favorite RUclipsr, Kaggyfilms.
Ayyyy
That comment someone left about Edward is too good 🤣
*"Edward's the only one to meet God face to face and still be an atheist"* lmao
"The absolute power move for him to meet God face to face and still be an atheist" I don't remember who said it but I will always remember that
in a calculated battle, like death battle, aang wins. if it were a story, edward probably would. as for lobo, to give a faulty comparison, he's wolverine meets thanos meets deadpool. yes, that insane
The VA for ed sounds like Reno from FFMA to me
*See's what's the next video you're gonna react to*
Ah feck.
If he didn't have the Avatar State, Ed could maybe beat Aang, but Ed doesn't stand a chance against the combined power of thousands of past lives all at once
Duck doesn't know about Lobo? Well he's about to get an education from the Main Man.
Never heard of him until now
There's a dbx that has mustang
Lobo, consider him the DC Deadpool with how unkillable he is
Ed is five foot five? That doesn't seem too ungodly short. Not short enough to be so sensitive about it. But I guess everyone has to have some sort of personality quirk.
Also, Lobo is basically DC's Deadpool. Well, kinda. They seem determined to make Harley Quinn fill that role but Lobo has been doing it for years (The Creeper would be another good character for that role but nobody remembers who he is)
Ehhh 5'5 isn't incredibly short but that world and everything has a bunch of toxic masculinity. I'm 6'1 and call myself short so
@@theduckgoesmoo Is that why Mustang makes fun of his height despite being only about five nine himself?
Is ed technically part stone
Metal bending
Ratchet and clank vs jak and daxter.
well, Tanya met a higher being she dubbed 'being X,' was reincarnated in a different world and gained a 'cursed' item and she is still an atheist.
Lobo is a crazy, stupid character, its great.
I laughed harder than I have in a long time when boomstick said he ate a bunch of glowsticks rofl (no idea why I found that so funny compared to things I have seen or heard this year lol). Very glad I wasn't eating or drinking anything.
Dude me too
The Avatar series continued in comics. Same with Korra.
"Heart" or in Vin diesel's case Love
Ed never had a chance
The voice is kaggy its a shame vic didn't voice him
Didn't Rooster Teeth themselves fire Vic a few years ago? And it was even BEFORE any trial, making it on suspicion alone which strikes me is very unprofessional.
@@BJGvideos agreed
Even if Vic wasn’t fired, he wouldn’t have voiced Ed anyway because of contracts
@@Brobuscus101 Isn't that only about not voicing the same character for the next two years? That's the time frame I've always heard.
Yeah the voice of Edward is Kaggy.
Think of literally any DC character you can think of...
There's a good chance that Lobo has pounded them at least once.
@@TheJeSTeR7530 Did they? I thought Emperor of Shamballa was pretty good. Though if you were excluding that then yeah I can see where it was botched.
Well actually, the manga wasn't even made until after the anime started. So it was actually the manga that diverged from the anime.
@@TheJeSTeR7530 I guess. At least with Brotherhoods movie you don’t really need to see it to understand it.
You should watch "Legend of Korra", because there's battle with her.
I dunno what to say, both series(ses?) are amaizing, both characters are very good at what they are doing, but a genius can't beat Jesus.
god vs baby
so aang 100% wins this but the measure of how strong fathers beam atk was was done completely wrong... just cause we only saw it carve away the building doesnt mean thats where it would stop... we even see that it was still blasting off behind it
I actually like Full Metal Alchemist better than Brotherhood. That's my personal opinion. I liked the movie it led to Conqueror of Shambala.
*spoilers Don't read if you haven't watched the Avatar cartoon*
He got his orange glider destroyed in season 3 episode 1, the blue one's his replacement; did you seriously forget that?
Just so you know, the next fight has been highly debunked. Figures too, because Lobo is one of SUPERMAN'S higher level villains.
Hmmmm
Ed might be smarter but the wisdom of past avatars combined might be smarter

literally none of the Ben vs Hal debunks on youtube make any sense at all, I'm sad you want to waste your time on them.
