- Silent Hill 2 Remake (PS5) 4K 60FPS HDR (Gameplay Trailer). Silent Hill 2 is an upcoming survival horror video game developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami. It is a remake of the 2001 game of the same name, originally developed by Team Silent, a group in Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo (KCET). It will be the first major installment in the Silent Hill series since Silent Hill: Downpour (2012). Like the original game, it follows James Sunderland (Luke Roberts), a widower who returns to the eponymous town of Silent Hill upon receiving a letter from his deceased wife Mary, who claims to be waiting there for him. The remake of the game was officially announced in October 2022[1] following months of speculation and leaks, and is the first game in an ongoing initiative by Konami to rejuvenate mainstream interest in the franchise, which had not seen a new major entry since the release of Silent Hill: Book of Memories (2012) and the subsequent cancellation[2] of Silent Hills from former internal studio Kojima Productions. The remake is being led by Bloober Team creative director Mateusz Lenart, while it is being produced by Motoi Okamoto from Konami.[3] Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka, who respectively served as creature designer and composer for the original game, will return to reprise their duties for the remake.[4]The game is set to be released in 2024 for the PlayStation 5 and Windows.

maybe they will, but i think SH2 has a high cult following as being the G.O.A.T of all Silent Hill Games hence the remake, personally i would like to see Silent Hill Origins as a Remake as well although it did feel more epic playing it on PSP than emulated on PC.

SH 1 has its essence how it is... it'll be complicated to replicate it... and if they try to, they will have to do an incredible amazing flaming unbeliveable super double triple superb work... SH 1 started everything, ofc fans won't accept any single mistake on this game, won't be negotiable and the result CAN'T be less than what the game is
I think Konami has followed Capcom 's way of doing remakes they remake 2 just like Resident evil 2, maybe 3 is next and then four and finally is 1

I love how you intertwined both trailers into one, it gives people a much clearer look at what this is, great cinematics, great looking gameplay, mid AA graphucs, and thats alright we havnt see SH since PS3

@@clarabressy2937 that's fair. But it's Bloober, an indie developer turned AA, & the enemies look kinda bad. Otherwise it looks great & I'm super hyped.

Silent Hill was so appealing because of its distinctive camera work. But it seems it ended up being a boring shooter-style camera work like Resident Evil remake series.
The camera angles weren’t intentional they had to make it like that just like every other tank control game

This is a remake I have always wanted but long stretches of hearing nothing along with it being blooper team at the helm, aaaand freaking modern Konami makes me understandably skeptical

I am certainly biased, because Silent Hill 2 is my all-time-favorite videogame, but I still have to ask: Do we really need a remake? I'm not at all a hater. This is a serious question: How could this be an improvement to such a monumental game?

The tendency to remaster, remake, re(wathever term you have in mind) during this 9th and partially during the 8th generation of consoles can be explained quite easily. The financial cost of embarking in a new Intellectual Property is very risky, leave alone the creation of an AAA production with original ideas or new groundbreaking mechanics or gameplay formulae. Therefore, software houses and Publishers alike try not to risk and invest in a potentially profitable games with well known and well established features that most of the gamers like. The other alternative is to fulfill the desires of old fans of specific milestones, masterpieces or simply widely loved, appreciated and overall critical acclaimed games of the past decades. Is that good or bad ? It depends by what you like. Therefore it's important to give to younger generations of gamers the 'taste' of what felt like to live an experience that only games so unique like SH2 could deliver. At the same time the general stagnation in creativity and the not so more financial sustainability of the most of the gaming industry are serious problems.

这游戏和小岛秀夫没有关系，小岛秀夫只是参与PT并且想再启动SH系列，但是小岛的理解和原版SH有些偏差，你开始玩PT还以为很符合SH，因为那是未完整的试玩作品，但如果真的让小岛完成了完整版的PT那么你将会失望，你会发现完整版的PT会越来越偏离SH，为何我会知道，因为我去研究了他找了谁合作并且尝试规划PT完整版的后续工作，结果是让人失望的，因为那是和SH不同的东西。气氛越来越变质了。小岛秀夫当然是天才，但是小岛的工作和SH的核心价值还没有直接关联，目前为止小岛还没有真正参与到SH系列的工作，除了试玩版的PT。

Im going to say this quickly.
I understand that people are worried about this game and i have worries myself. Lets first understand that this game has had a large impact on people because of how great it was, however it was released for a generation of consoles that hardly anyone uses now and not everyone owns a good enough PC to play the game on. This remake, I doubt it will re-capture the same magic of the original, but it gives my generation a chance to experience what others felt when originally playing this game. I never played the games, unfortunately, but I know the story of the second game and would like to experience it for myself.
When i first found out about this game being remade, i was nervous because I didnt know if it could be done, this game has a legacy and that will be very hard to recreate especially if you've already played the original. However, with Bloober teams response to the criticism i believe there is hope for the game.
The only criticism i have so far is the QTEs and gun sound effects but besides that, im hopeful that at least a decent game will come out of this after all they already have the story and just need to adjust a few things without unreasonable interference.
Its hard to deny that the visuals in this are amazing, although im not to picky about graphics, these visuals are something that i can appreciate.
I do hope that nothing major is removed because i understand that there will be backlash because of Angela's story because people who've never experienced that trauma get way too upset about those things and try to defend those affected by that unfortunate situation even though they have no understanding of it themselves.
I understand that with the amount of games being remade, they can eventually get boring. However, i would like to experience a fresh take on the game that removes tank controls and fixed camera angles.
With that said, i hope the remake will give my generation a chance to experience this game for themselves.
