  • Firstly, I cannot take credit for this Dalek but it took about 2 months to build from start to finish and was completed in the summer of 2017. Dalek 'Decimus' is based on the black 'Movie Dalek' from the film, Dr Who and the Daleks, starring Peter Cushing. It is made mostly from fiberglass, MDF, aluminium, metal and plywood.

    This is awesome 👍🏻 I have always liked the original Peter Cushing dalek from the first movie especially the black & red ones that appeared. They just look brilliant very real too. This build of the black dalek is spot on 🙂🙂 👍🏻 great job

    I’m impressed with all the hard work employed on getting the model exactly as they were, when I first saw them in the 1965 film all those years ago - well done 👌🇬🇧.

      I guess I am kind of randomly asking but do anybody know of a good site to watch new series online ?

      Google search might bring up Dailymotion, might only be RUclips or the two Dr Who films 🍿.

    Without being nosey it’s something I will achieve one day is to build a dalek but can we know how much you invested in the build?

      Some people have made ones around 400 dollars (USD), but it depends on the materials you use. www.projectdalek.co.uk/ This is where the building dalek plans are as well as many tutorials and helpful tips.

    Hi I've got to ask, I have seen fibreglass kits on ebay for around £375.00 , is this where you got the bodyshell from?

    You Haven't got this Dalek up for Sale on Gumtree have You? The Reason why I ask is that I saw a Movie Dalek of the same Colors on Gumtree and It looks very similar to Yours. Great Build as well, Well Done.

      Nope not mine! There is one on ebay as well (in same colours). Only had mine a year and it will be a family heirloom!

    What did you use for the roundles(bumps) or did you make them yourself?

      Do you mean the hemispheres? I think the person who made mine had a mold.

    Similar, except the top rings were too high right up to the dome, but well done anyway, would love one in my bedroom to chat too.

      I don't know, neck ring spacing seems quite inconsistent in the Movies and the original TV Series. They were built by several different people both in Shawcraft and the BBC with various levels of quality. I would say mine are evenly spaced which I like because the way I see it, Dalek casings would be mass produced, the same way a car is. So the neck rings would be like the even spacing of a car ventilation grill or something similar :)

      I think the dome looks better when it is higher up like that, as long as the support rod endings are under the dome so it looks like they connect.

    Let's hope Dalek Decimus doesn't succumb to WOODWORM or DRY ROT? 👎🤣 ... Joking aside, I'm always envious and impressed by the skills of certain Doctor Who fans! ... Unfortunately, I'm NOT skilled! 👎🤣

    • @DalekDecimus
      @DalekDecimus  Год назад +1

      Fiberglass doesn't rott and I keep him in dining room to avoid this type of thing!

    • @marcse7en
      @marcse7en Год назад +1

      @@DalekDecimus I'm confused by your comment! I didn't say fibreglass rotted, and fibreglass is spelt "fibreglass," and "rot" is spelt with a single "t!" ... Glass doesn't rot, but the Dalek contains wood, which most certainly can rot! Also, my comment was intended to be humorous! Indicated thus: "🤣" ... I won't bother commenting next time!
