The mini sucks 😂 The Avata is better because it wont become obsolete after the first week of flying, you will still be able to use it a FPV when you get the mavic 3 pro or soon “next year” 4 pro. If you get the mavic you won’t be using the small beginner drone for pro work, and the avata is way better for just fun.
It’s unbelievable the progress consumer drones have made in the last 12 years or so. The early ones were all manual, height, avoidance, landing, no GPS, no RTH. But even with todays tech, no drone is “uncrashable”, given that there’s a human on the other end of the sticks.
This is like in an interview when they ask “what is your biggest weakness”.. and you have to somehow spin something positive into something negative 😂😂
Saying you can fly it pretty much anywhere is very irresponsible. In the US you still have to follow flight restrictions, you just don’t have to register it. This means anywhere you can’t fly a registered drone, you can’t fly this either.

The 4 has obstacle avoidance in all directions but I’m staring to thing the best deals are the mavic 2 pro or air 2s on the second hand market. They don’t sell well because most ppl don’t want to get the drone license which is like a few dollars and little bit of studying.
Love the sarcasm, one thing to correct, you don’t need a license to fly bigger drones. As a matter of fact, anything under 55lbs can be flown without a license. The only benefit that the minis have (sub 250g drones) is that you don’t have to register them to fly. This allows for the United States only, other countries have different laws.
Crashed mine into a tree on the third flight. I recommend against using sport mode until you're comfortable with the controls. Also I advise against flying with the battery under 20% as it will aggressively try to descend wherever it's at.

BUT, i'm a videographer and i'm learning and working as video operator most of the time, it means, behind the camera, not flying a drone, not directing the scene, not pulling focus, not lighting the set, i shoot behind the camera, so a drone like this can make me save money on my small production, by not paying a drone operator, not spending time learning how to fly, not spending in repairs for crashes, and the list goes on. definitely not worth if you wanna start as drone operator
It's just TOO EASY! As a pro wedding filmmaker, I'm upgrading to this from the Mini 2 because the D-Log M allows better Dynamic Range and makes it such a great image.

You're right, it is still one of the worst for autonomous drones!!! Can't keep up and still crashes in 50% of RUclips real world testing. WTF DJI!! 😢

@@Carson99876 Actually, they can easily crash especially when people put too much trust in the obstacle avoidance feature when using follow me. I had a Detect X380 that had GPS that you had to spin to calibrate and back then you had to add your own camera system. I had a couple of hex copters and about four helicopters, so yeah, these DJI's can fly themselves comparatively, but if you're not paying close attention like I said, or sometimes it's just signal interference or some malfunction, or even a bird attack, lol....but you know the old saying "shit happens"... so I guess when I refer to being a beginner it's mostly in learning to do aerial videography and the flying techniques in relation to that... I think that I'm glad I got the M4P but I like the Mini 2, and that would've been more practical monetarily speaking, but the M4P will be more fun growing into.. what with waypoints, and a much improved video capability... Happy New Year brother!

The obstacle avoidance is questionable. It crashes for no reason where the mini 3 pro wouldn't. Hopefully a firmware update will improve it.
