When I was a kid, I had a guinea pig that would follow me around. Then I got him a mate. He would follow me and she would follow him. Then they had babies. He would follow me, she would follow him and they would follow her.

In Sweden this year 2019, they made it illegal to have only one guinea pig. They have to at least have one partner. Guinea pigs need animal companionship! Love this video! Glad this guinea pig has a fabulous life
How do they effectively enforce this? And what if one piggy dies leaving the other alone for its last years? I like the idea but just curious.

You can't get only one anymore if you try to buy/adopt one.
The dog can’t speak guinea pig language and it’s very unsafe to have a guinea pig around a large dog they play with their teeth
Plus the dog can’t speak the same language

That gunea pig is unusually smart and social he seems to know when to chill and relax, play, follow, and has full range of the home. This is the best example of a guinea pig dog relationship I've seen yet. I was worried it would leave droppings everywhere but he didn't appear to.

Guinea pigs are super social, he sees Pippin as part of his herd 🥺 this is the sweetest thing ever! And the way Pippin makes him feel safe and Pippin is just so in love back with him- ugh love these two critters already!! ❤️

Of course, because animals are different than people, and it is meant to be that way. Animals compliment the world in God's creation and nature. This does not mean countries should not have borders, laws and protections from terrorists, and enemies of the state. People should not misrepresent animals in the big picture, or use them for political identity politics. Just FYI.
Our current USA President cld learn a thing or two or three from these non - discriminate creatures from God.

Guinea pigs are extremely social animals. It's very cruel to adopt one, they need a friend. In certain parts of the world it's illegal to own just one.

@La Blue Girl True. But kitties sleep a lot. And for depression or anxiety alertness, playfulness, responding to feelings is required. And kitties leave (I had 2, went off with male ones). Dogs are very very loyal. Unconditional Love ♥️.
Puppies are not medicine. You should get a puppy because you want to have a puppy and spend several hours every day exercising it when it grows up, not to cure your depression.
Not saying they can't help with depression because they are adorable. But say it doesn't, then what? Now you are even more depressed and you have a puppy that demands constant attention and you don't really know what to do with it.
@La Blue Girl True, I didn't get her spayed. Didn't do it for my dog too....I know it's practical.... but just couldn't do it....I've left them be wild. In fact my dogs have taken over our house 😅.
@@Balalaika74 I am a counselor. I do agree that dogs require attention and this best suits depression cases Bec they have to be active. Depending upon severity of depression, treatment is given. If it's in initial level then home remedies are enough. It doesn't have to be only dogs, it can be any animal which responds and require attention. Example, if you get a fish, you don't have to take them for a walk, so you won't get up to do it.
Animals are angels, they help us get through life, they are just walking us home.🙏🏼🙇🏻♀️

My dogs freak out and try to attack my my guinea pig when she makes noises, which they can’t because she is in an elevated cage, if all dogs were calm like this then it would be amazing but it could backfire lol

I love them both. Guinea puffs are very social. They make wonderful pets but need a companion. Whenever I hear one make that gweeking sound I remember the lovely Guinea pigs I had as a child. There is a moment of pure happiness when I hear that.

Everyone is complaining that she only has one guinea pig but he seems very content with his pupper friend. I'm sure they hang out a lot so I don't see them problem. In most circumstances tho they do need a friend but these guys are ok with just each other and their owner.

Lol. I feel that. When we had a cat, he wanted to kill our dog, and we had to give him to another family because he was definitely a 'single-animal household' cat. Our dog gets jealous over anything that's not her. I was googling beta fish, and she tried to shove her way between me and what I was leaning against. Same thing happened when I tried to show my mom a video of a snake
Right? I was taking care of my friend's ferret and no lie my dachshund tried to EAT her.
Most fun was when I had 3 rats- separated 2 and 1 because 1 would attack the babies, one parrot that flew into a public pool who one rat also hated, 2 dogs that went after the cat, and one cat that hated the dogs and was a danger to the bird and rodents. 🤪

Guinea pigs are group animals and have a strong need for companionship - with their own kind! They should *never* be kept without conspecifics. Two is the absolute minimum, better is a group.
The guinea pig in the video joins the dog out of sheer desperation because he's denied contact with other guinea pigs. Poor boy. :(

Not unusual. When I was little my rabbit Beano was my retriever/Alsatian cross' best pal. Only the rabbit was allowed anywhere near the dog's dinner, and they shared it. They lay by the fire together, they played outside together. They completely loved the bones of one another.
