I've brought a few back to life. That one looks like it had a hard life in dirty conditions. I bought a Tek 2213 recently for parts not working. Once I managed to remove it from the well padded box I was shocked at the condition of it, SPOTLESS, and looked like brand new!!! Cost me $30 plus S/H, powered up and tested perfect on both channels, it was going to be used for parts, now I might use it as a station monitor for my ham rig when I get back on air. Repaired the P/S on a Tek 2465, just one cap failed, needs the pots and switches cleaning, other than that works a treat on all four channels, another 2465 I bought cheap for parts, turns out to work perfect, other than has a boot up error at power on. Resets and using the error codes charts points me to a sticking button. For the price I can't complain. I have another Tek that I need parts for a 2246, hopefully I can bring that back from the dead.

Those oscilloscopes were amazing and rather expensive back in the day. Sad to see them thought of as e-waste now. I have a TDS-380 I brought back to life as well - great scopes!

If you still use this scope, check the C904 cap in the PSU, right under the input socket. If it is still the original Rifa transparent plastic kind of thing, replace it before it blows up!
Mine did, properly exploded and melted into the plastic cover of the power switch. Was quite hard to take the remnants off, and left quite a mess to clean up. Some say that the Schaffner input filter has the same kind of caps inside with the same issue. Mine has a TDK Japan one, I don't know whether is it affected or not.
Funny, but all the other 30+ year old electrolytic caps are just fine.
