Alabaster Dawn is an Action RPG that builds on the best aspects of Radical Fish Games’ previous title, CrossCode. It features a deep combat system, challenging puzzles, and a mysterious world teeming with secrets, all bundled up in an engaging story. The shadow of Nyx has fallen-warping the world into a wasteland and vanishing the gods and their people. Now, Juno the Outcast Chosen, awakes to an impossible task: bring it all back.

I recommend CrossCode every time I breathe. Super excited for Alabaster Dawn this game looks great!
YEEEEEEEEES
Same here. Such an under rated masterpiece.
100%, any time my friends or someone I talk to on disc asks for game recc's I ALWAYS say CrossCode first. Not even close it is my favorite ARPG and really game in general of the past 10 years. Plenty of other great games but the charm, polish and style of CrossCode is just unparalleled. Alabaster Dawn looks fucking jaw dropping amazing. Cannot wait for this game!
Great game, though the dungeon puzzles were getting on my nerves in the second half of the game. Eventually, I just dropped it, didn't want to look for guides but spending hours on something that feels nonsensical was not my cup of tea.
@@SciFiMangaGamesAnime A friend of mine who introduced me to Cross Code really... REALLY sucks at puzzles. But man, he's persistent. Managed to brute force his way through the game, even getting by some puzzles through methods that were DEFINITELY NOT the intended solution. XD
Game seems incredible, everything looks super smooth and polished
Right? Those impact frames at the end are goddamn immaculate. Perfect hitstop timing.
Can you beat Alabaster Dawn without breaking!!
That's excatly what you can expect from the devs of CrossCode! Looks incredible
ravioliman would disagree
I knew you would come and comment on this trailer, considering that Crosscode is your top 3 favorite games.
Also you love cluster bomb with middle path crosspathing.
This looks incredible. As someone who's spent far too much time searching for "games like crosscode/games similar to crosscode", my body is READY.
Have u tried lachsens (the dev) first game? Little RPG MAKER titled velsarbor. It is amazing compared to most other RPG maker games, and you can definitely see the same style. I think there is an english patch
which ones have you found?
@@kidrobot. Secrets of Grindea is what's felt the closest as far as haveing some puzzles, dungeons, fun world with a lot to explore. Hyper Light Drifter, Tunic, Deaths Door, Chained Echoes are others that have some similarities.
@@TitanSmashMTG thank you. luckily most of those are available on consoles as well
I also heard good things about unsighted
The level of animation quality here is INSANE I love that things are so fluid. That enemy at the end pulling its weapon out was smooth. I'm excited to see what looks like a main hub evolve over the game too!
It's not insane.
Kids, stop using words you don't understand.
the craziest thing is, the engine and the dev tools are all custom made for it
The animations are actually 3D armatures and it shows different 2D sprite variations of every part of the body (head, hair, hands, arms, feet etc) based on the limb's rotation to the camera.
So you get the best of both worlds: the smoothness of 3D with the consistency and style of 2D pixel art
I went into CrossCode without expecting anything, and it became my favourite game ever. I can't wait for this one!
This is 2.5D in its prime. Knowing that this is the devs of Crosscode was already enough to get me to buy the next title, but god damn this trailer.. God DAMN
...this is not 2.5D at all lol this is literally just 2D
That in-game speed and pacing is chefs kiss
@@cashnelson2306 nope the pixel art is rigged on a 3d skeleton
@@demosthenes995 that’s awesome, super clever, still not what 2.5D is. it’s an art style, an aesthetic choice, polygonal characters that still operate on a 2D plane. aesthetically the game is 2D, gameplay wise 3D with how often the z-axis is involved in puzzles, but nothing about it is 2.5D
It’s 2D.
It is such a joy to see Radical Fish Games pouring this amount of love and effort into one project. Truly inspiring!
crosscode is one of my favorite games ever made so seeing this is so incredible im in tears
Why?
It looks worse than CC and it seems like it has a more tilted cam which makes positioning and dodging of spells and abilities worse.
i love seeing the little traces of crosscode in this
I dont think they are little lol
@@ZerkUWU They're enormous.
And that's actually a good thing, this time. 😂
They aren't lil but they are amazing
It's like crosscode style had a mega evolution
I very deliberately DIDN'T follow this game's development as closely as I did back with CrossCode, and right now I'm glad I did. You guys outdid yourself! Please never stop making games!
Same as you buddy. This look so god damn heavenly, and so fun to play.
I'm gonna have to play CrossCode again just for that.
They didn't show too much of it anyway.
@@Dark__ThoughtsThats good, bigger surprise for us.
And let us hope NOBODY rushes them. I’m glad they took their sweet time in this because it looks gorgeous.
Wasn't expecting this game to look as good as it does and so soon. The experience really shows, hopefully this one gets the publicity it deserves.
this looks incredible!!!! perfect evolution of your previous game!
I'm so excited for this game dude. Crosscode genuinely blew me away and I've been itching to be able to experience that specific blend of challenging puzzles, combat, exploration and story again, but hopefully even better
IMMEDIATE wishlist!!!
It's amazing how you guys have also evolved your already beautiful art style from Crosscode 💙
I pumped my fist and had to hold back a “Whooo!” when I saw the trailer notification! The music and artwork look gorgeous! Crosscode is one of my favorite games of all time, and to see it both represented AND expanded upon in a spiritual successor has me beyond hyped! I cannot WAIT to dove into yet another amazing world built by RadicalFish!
If I had a nickel for every game made by RadicalFish that had a girl waking up in a strange place, I would have two nickels.
And I'm definitely not complaining.
this one can talk atleast
You sound sus like you’re trying to convince us you’re not used to girls waking up in strange places
@@ChronoMune
@@shalvei_ was that a diss to lea?
While I only got into Crosscode later that most (earlier this year), it definitely is in my top 10 games of all time. I am so inexplicably hyped to see what this new masterpiece you guys cooked up has in store. Definetly a day one purchase!
Already loving so much of what's being presented. Can't wait for early access!
Man I remember seeing the project terra prototypes on twitter a long time ago. This is gonna be awesome!
this is my new most anticipated title and it will remain that way until it comes out.
never been more confident that a game will be great just based off a trailer in my life and that's because you guys are a studio that loves making games and it shows.
The animation looks so smooth and it looks so good. I love that "From the Creators of Crosscode" is a huge plus to me. Let's go!
ITS HERE ITS HERE
Everything looks so much cooler than CrossCode and the animations just look incredible and I have no idea how you managed to get pixel art looking that smooth and the combat looks even more satisfying but more importantly - given how incredible CrossCode's story was, I can't wait to see what this new story turns out to be
the crosscode dna definitely shines in this new game! honestly i feel like the 3d environments will make platforming a lot easier, so um definitely excited!
yeah it was like one of the only things people didnt like about the game other than puzzles being a lil hard for some poeple
Great they made it work so beautifully
I remember seeing animation tests for this game on Twitter and the incredible multi-directional sprites and awe inspiring environments (even in their earlier stages!) and I’m so glad that this game is closer and closer to completion every day
I'm glad to see you guys are making another game in the same ARPG style as CrossCode. I was a little skeptical of the new graphical style at first, but the 2.5D actually helps a lot with depth perception just going off the footage shown here. It makes it a lot more clear what parts of the environment are on the same plane as you, and that would help tremendously with navigation. I'm looking forward to it whenever you guys are done.
HOLY SHIT THIS GAME IS GORGEOUS!!!!
EASILY my favorite indie developer Radical Fish Games. CrossCode has been my favorite ARPG of the past decade and I am SO excited to see this game develop more and eventually get a release date. Though I don't want to rush a good game (I know you don't either) so announce that only when you feel ready. Oh my god I'm so damn excited for this game!
Alabaster Dawn looks incredible. Can't wait to play it.
These animations are insane. Especially like the big bugs attack, the rhythm, how it charges up and finally strikes.
I literally checked this channel a few days ago, latest stream was 9 months ago. I open the app and BOOM, here it is!!! I am so exited for this project 😭💯
I still remember when I tried the CrossCode demo back then on Newgrounds and how much I loved the full game so I am really hyped for this one since it also gives me that sense that it is going to be a wonderful experience!
Crosscode was a masterpiece, and i believe this won't disappoint
Needless to say, I'm excited.
Crosscode knocked it out of the park, I'm hoping Alabaster Dawn can top it!
It's 39°c outside and yet it feels like christmas.
I'm so hyped !!
Let's go! Project Terra was honestly a cool name in itself, but Alabaster Dawn also sounds great. I'm sure there's a lot of pressure on all of you to make a worthy successor to CrossCode, but from what I've been able to see so far I have no doubt that it's going to be amazing. Keep up the great work, excited to see more!
Truly a moment for the history books
Looks like that I will have another "crosscode" experience.
an "Ultimate Experience" if you will
@@SlyHikari03 Touche 👌
The makers of my 2020 GOTY (that was the year I first played CrossCode) are back!? LET'S GO!!!
Allow me to give money to you RIGHT NOW!
Your first game was an instant classic in my eyes, with a story that was perfectly deep, if a bit heavy weighted in its pacing(It hits hard at the beginning, but then drags until about a bit past the fire temple after the opening area), but that comes through as a result of wanting you to FEEL Lea's own emotions, as she's not sure what's going on anymore than the player.
Plus, you were VERY creative with that story and setting, giving me hope that anything that comes from this studio will keep that kind of depth up. A story that starts with a lost in a game plot, grows to be something so much more that it was honestly quite effecting, especially once you understood what was happening during the chapter in the red place.(Leaving vague to avoid spoilers)
The gameplay was awesome too, using every tool in its belt to really push the player, be it in combat, or with the puzzles, with some of them working together to make a very awesome bit of gameplay, as it never kept one going too long to prevent boredom...okay MAYBE that last one, but I still think the joke about it was funny enough to make it work.
All that packaged in a game that remembered how to make Pixel Art shine, with dozens of fantastic vistas over the course of it, and also just some lovely sprites, both enemy and ally alike.
Oh, and the fact that no one knows everything is good too, allows the mystery to not feel cheap, when someone knows all the answers is on the team the whole time. That can get REALLY frustrating on future playthrus(looking at you Tales of the Abyss), but you were smart in saying who knew what and when, even taking a moment near game end to lay it all out.
Only thing I'm hoping might change a bit is maybe some of the skill tree differences to be a bit more pronounced, as CrossCode had a problem of everything feeling samey within the same tree, even when it was obviously not supposed to be that way, with the big differences coming from the four elemental shots.
Anyway, thank you for the awesome game, and looking forward to this one.
CrossCode is one of my favorite games of all time and I recommend it constantly - this will be a day 1 purchase from me! Physical copy please! I've got the steelbook edition of CrossCode and would love to add this to my shelf :D
Can’t wait. I got Crosscode on a whim and it turned out to be one of my favorite games I’ve played. Whatever you guys cook up next I’ll be here for it.
I didn’t even notice the channel name initially, just got recommended the trailer and as I’m watching it had this progression of “oh this looks good” to “hold on…” to verbally shouting out “Oh my god it’s the Crosscode team”. So happy to see a new game from you all.
Trailer literally started saying from creators of cross code…
@@ChronoMune yeah I missed that bit. What I get for trying to do other things while watching trailers.
It looks considerably more polished than cross code. You can really tell the team has learned a ton from past titles. Very excited for your fandom to dive into this new adventure.
Even if it's just CrossCode with different graphics, it's going to be great.
Lets be honest Fromsoftware does basically the same thing and they get praised more that they should imo.
I mean this is what any smart and talented developer can and SHOULD do. It's how every big Franchise is born. CoD, Halo (xd), Assassin's Creed, God of War, etc.
If you have a winning formula you should alter it a bit in future games but not stray too too far from the core identity of it. The sequel to the beginning of most new franchises is almost always the original game but expanded and improved in almost every way. Think Halo CE to Halo 2, God of War 1 to God of War 2, Dark Souls 1 to 2, etc. If you got a winning formula why drastically change up what people love about your games and risk alienating your players. Catching lightning in a bottle like this is very rare in the gaming industry.
@@YuYuYuna_ yeah, I keep saying nintendo should be doing this more in the modern age. Mario odyssey 2 was a huge missed opportunity. It worked so well when they did Ocarina of Time and then Majora's Mask right after. I just wish more devs were willing build off of what came before instead of scrapping it all and starting from scratch everytime.
@@FlamingZelda3 Well, the Zelda series is for the most part a good example of just that. The vast majority of the games have the same base gameplay loop with different trimmings and some adjustments to fit the console they're on. BotW and TotK are the biggest outliers but happened to be experiments that worked out.
You have to remember that Mario Odyssey was itself an outlier, too.
I think there are a lot of significant improvements that it would be considered more than just "Crosscode 2.0". There's jumping and fully 3D voxel graphics, for example.
Looks amazing, really feels like you levelled up Cross Code. Wishlisting now.
Someone LET THEM COOK and I am HERE FOR IT. Looks incredible!!
The excitement I feel for this game has me feeling like a kid again. So psyched for y'all, congrats on the announcement
Holy shit, I thought CrossCode was gorgeous already, but this? How did y'all make it so PRETTY and SMOOTH and FLUID :0
I have been looking forward to this new game ever since I was fascinated by Cross Code and learned of its existence!
I support you from Japan! (Deepl translation was used)
Looking from its trailer, it's safe to say that combat is much more refined and methodical than Crosscode, and has better emphasis on world exploration.
Can't wait for the puzzle trials, which is the best part of dungeons clearing imo.
I really hope you guys get publicity and a publisher this time - it's criminal the lack of major reviews and coverage Crosscode received as it was the best RPG of the year in 2018 and wasn't even nominated for rpg or indie game.
LET'S FREAKING GOOOOOOOOO!!!!
1:19 okay Saber-class servant
skipped once into the vid, saw a single freeze frame, went "wait a minute" went back to the beginning, "From the creators of Crosscode" Hell yeah!!!
Never played Cross Code but I am so excited for this game. I love the artstyle!
Well, you still have at least a year to fix that.
Looks amazing and a natural evolution from CrossCode in style and gameplay. Cannot wait till dive in!
So excited about your next work, can't wait for the release!
Every clip I see of this game is genuinely breathtaking, I'm so excited!
I was a bit concerned when the dev streams started drying up last year, but clearly my fears were misplaced. Absolutely amazing work guys, really looking forward to this masterpiece!
Went straight to steam to wishlist! I have been looking for your follow up to Cross Code for years! I can’t wait!
On the floor screaming crying this is what I've been waiting for
Man, I'm gonna be right there on day one of the early access. Crosscode is one of the best games that I've played recently and even one of my top favourites, so I'm 100% sure of the talent of this team. Takeall the time you need.
0:31 Like something right out of Emilie's nightmares.
This is absolutely incredible! CrossCode is a masterpiece and one of my favorite games of all time. I am BEYOND excited for Alabaster Dawn.
Picked up every box in CrossCode to be here
crosscode was my fav game of the past 10 or so years, super excited for this game i know you guys will have done another awesome job :)
I am a big fan of you since Velsarbor. Nice Trailer. 👍🏻
CrossCode was an unimaginably magical experience for me. And Alabaster Dawn will be too!
WOOOOOOO PEAK IS BACK ON THE MENU
Thank you!
Really do love the sprite/3d blend going on here. Such great speed to her movements. Excited to see more!
GOTY IN THE MAKING BABY WOOOOOOO
Just bought Crosscode a couple of days ago. You people are extremely talented, keep making amazing games 🙏
An actually unique isometric take for once. Beautifully done, looking forward to it
From the development videos, they use multiple sprites bound to a 3d skeleton :) depending on hhe character movements and angle, the corresponding sprites change. Best of both worlds !
God that combat looks crunchy so far, I love it. Also animated intro?? I'm already hyped!
Praise be to the holy capybara.
RUclips dropped this on my homepage and just WOW! This looks absolutely amazing! I wish listed so fast! Looking forward to the release :)
Please consider a GOG release!
Can't wait for this. Cross Code was amazing. I love these retro style rpgs. When I was young I tried making games on my own in rpg maker. I played the demo for Velsabor from Lachsen and I'm happy that he is still making amazing games in this style. Keep up the good work. This looks awesome so far.
if this game was half as good as crosscode it will be an amazing game, and this looks so much better than crosscode wtf
upcoming game of the decade.
crosscode is the best game i played in my life (and i'm 32)
so i'm super exited for this
please don't go easy on the complexity! We looove complex dungeon puzzles!
I think you're the first comment to say as such lol I agree with you btw
CrossCode was excellent, I bought it while it was in Early Access for peanuts on a sale, and eventually played it when it was officially released because I wanted to wait for the full game. Was blown away by the quality on display. I liked it so much that I bought a physical copy for my Nintendo Switch just to add it to my collection.
Last time when I was that hyped, I was playing CrossCode. I love what you are doing guys
The best thing about CrossCode for me was the sense of comradery and support between Lea and others. Hope this one has something similar :)
the fluidity of animations is out of this freaking world, holy hell
I already know this is gonna be a good game, with Crosscode you guys have solidified yourselves as a fantastic team
I knew y'alls Project Terra updates started getting quiet for a good reason. Looking _extremely_ forward to this.
Man an upgraded version of CrossCode sounds sick, CrossCode was already so smooth with it. Excited for this~!
I loved crosscode and I am ready to love this! Easiest wishlist of my life.
I haven't been hyped by a game for 8 years.... and you changed it. Can't wait to get my hands on this game *.*
this looks AMAZING! the level of polish is so noticeable and appreciated. :)
I was not expecting to see this today!
Very pleasantly surprised, Alabaster Dawn is already looking excellent!
wow, crosscode being one of my favorites games and this at least from sight is a step forward on mechanics and visual, so excited to see what alabaster dawn has to show us
I spew the word CrossCode anytime anyone asks me my favorite game. THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! THANK YOU RADICAL FISH!
Oh man the visuals are so stunningly beautiful! Can't wait for the release! Absolutely loved CrossCode!
even if it didn't look absolutely beautiful and transformative, the trust earned through cross code in y'all was enough to make this an instant buy
HO BOI! This game is looking SPECTACULAR! A major step up from CrossCode! And I am really liking what is shown so far in this trailer. I cannot wait to play this once either a demo or the full game comes out! Keep it up, RadicalFishGames!
I LOVE the design of Juno! She looks fantastic in both the cutscenes and the gameplay. I'm super excited to play as her.
This really does seem like a better version of crosscode, I'm super excited as crosscode by itself was one of my favorite story games. I especially loved the small cute story between Lea and our lovable Evotar Lukas. Defiantly going in my wishlist.
The graphics are gorgeous. The combat looks smooth and polished, it just has a solid weight to it. Not to mention the story and characters look intriguing and compelling already.
I'm so insanely excited.
This trailer finally gave me the nudge I needed to open up CrossCode and start playing despite buying it 2 years ago. And it's become one of my favorite games ever. So excited to see how the team can improve on something near perfect.
