The security in the courtroom has NO excuse for what happened to the judge. Even though this dude moved fast, the baliff or baliffs had time to react just like the clerk and attorneys did. In some courts, sentencing means two baliffs, one positioned at the front and another towards the middle to prevent the convicted from attacking or being attacked. This court needs to review their procedures.

I’m not sure if you missed it but the 1st deputy wearing the dark blue was kicked in the head and went down to the ground as the suspect jumped over the bench. At the end you can see him bleeding from the head. I don’t think anyone expected the suspect to flat out leap over the podium. The second deputy got there within 2 seconds of the suspect jumping onto the judge and is the one in tan dragging the suspect off and fighting him. The deputy bleeding from the head actually got up, despite being hurt and bleeding from the head, and engaged the suspect as well. I know the expectation is that they prevent things like that entirely but it’s almost impossible. In this case no one was seriously injured and that’s what matters.
