Kudos to the clerk who stepped up. He certainly deserves a good raise and bonus. I hope the judge is okay. She was correct in her judgement decision that he deserves a very lengthy sentence.

@@michaelcalland801 I think he's facing a lot more than just 15 years for this. He faces several new charges and I'd be amazed if he doesn't draw the maximum penalty on each of the charges. We need this same lack of security when there’s a murderer/child offender in court. I’m always disappointed the victims can’t get to the offenders in time.

It's literally obvious the dude is mentally unwell. That was clear before he attacked the judge. And now that he's definitely done something that heavily indicates that you wanna toss him in prison? He's literally what mental hospitals are designed for.
Just imagine you were that guy's therapist and you diagnosed he's a psychopath, he's sitting in front of u, would u tell him he's bipolar or a psycho. And that's why. Think it through, unlike the lack of security in this vid.
The security in the courtroom has NO excuse for what happened to the judge. Even though this dude moved fast, the baliff or baliffs had time to react just like the clerk and attorneys did. In some courts, sentencing means two baliffs, one positioned at the front and another towards the middle to prevent the convicted from attacking or being attacked. This court needs to review their procedures.
Looked like the Officer to the left of the judge was reading the news paper. He should've been on point. Especially when the judge was delivering the sentence.
Everyone was too relaxed and group people as a whole. This judge is no different. I hope his mental issues are addressed. Jail is not any form of Rehabilitation

Absolutely….. our criminal system needs to keep these type of people locked up without bail. And, those who are caught shoplifting MUST BE prosecuted and sent to jail.. our current system does nothing about it
What we have here is a man that from the age of birth to five, took tantrums and never ever was given any consequences of actions, no punishments to deter him. He was given the red light to go! After the age of five it’s too late to undo the damage. All adults defer to that age when in trouble and it’s what consequences they received at that age that will always reflect their actions now!

The monotone “stop, don’t do this” coming from his lawyer… The reaction time of the bailiffs, The fact that 3 men were punching him and still he was on her, This is shameful. Criminals are going to do what they do, the court needs to be better prepared.
There certainly needed to be more security officers in the courtroom ready. The courtroom was so open, and I only really saw security person on the floor. There should have been MANY. I watch a lot of trials and sentencing, and there are always at least two standing behind the defendant, and more near the judge. What is wrong with this court room. Plus this violent of a person, should have been in cuffs.
I hope the judge is okay. That man definitely has several issues with mental health, specifically narcissism. The minute he didn't get his way, all his sweet talking went out the window and he showed his true colors
Big UPS for the law clerk’s heroic interception. The Judge would’ve been seriously hurt. The security in that courtroom was seriously lacking. They should NEVER allow someone being sentenced for felonies without any restraint. Anyone would be at risk for assault. Just stupid.
There was no interception, he managed a straight on tackle and multiple blows landed before anyone pulled him away, and thenhe managed a few solid kicks after being pulled away
They should place themselfes and that person shouldn't be able to get half way across to the judge at all and to many hits on her before they all came into reach plus he kicked towards her when they try to fight him off. I thought the same. The security took too long getting to the attack. Thankfully, her court clerk stepped up and did so quickly. But the response time of security, at least from my pov, was totally too slow. Image if the clerk hadn't intervened. She could have suffered a terrible beating. Maybe the System should consider a different floor plan regarding seating position, e.g., have the judges' area higher from the ground, have offenders seated in a confined space far from the judge and central to the room, and have security personnel (2 persons) attending solely to the judge. The whole time I kept asking “HOW DID HE EVEN GET THAT FAR” nobody was doing their jobs at all . There is usually more security in court rooms no matter the offender.

I’m not sure if you missed it but the 1st deputy wearing the dark blue was kicked in the head and went down to the ground as the suspect jumped over the bench. At the end you can see him bleeding from the head. I don’t think anyone expected the suspect to flat out leap over the podium. The second deputy got there within 2 seconds of the suspect jumping onto the judge and is the one in tan dragging the suspect off and fighting him. The deputy bleeding from the head actually got up, despite being hurt and bleeding from the head, and engaged the suspect as well. I know the expectation is that they prevent things like that entirely but it’s almost impossible. In this case no one was seriously injured and that’s what matters.

You got that right!
The whole time I kept asking “HOW DID HE EVEN GET THAT FAR” nobody was doing their jobs at all . There is usually more security in court rooms no matter the offender.
They didn't even handcuffed him!
@@firsttimeisawjupiter1031His lawyer said that he completed probation successfully, so I can see why they didn't
exactly... to be fair I believe there were enough security there. but like you said, nobody seem to be doing their jobs correctly. I assume; they were not paying attention fully and/or not in correct position(s) AKA not following protocals... Because if they were... this would of never happened & his ass would of been stopped immediately once he jumped his table.
If this was taking place in a casino in Vegas, he wouldn't gotten two steps towards the judge. I've served as a juorer in LA and they take no chances. They surround the defendent with LA sheriff deputies (who look like weight lifters) and would have definitely handcuffed him given his violent rap sheet.@@codyferrell1031
That was about 5 or 7 feet he ran to get to the bench
My condolences for the mother. You can hear her screaming “stop! What the f*** is wrong with you?!” She’s still desperately trying to help and protect her baby boy while he refuses to help himself 😔
She’s also the foster mom, so she probably took him in when no one else wanted to. I feel terrible for her.
Somewhere down the line she and whoever the father is failed him and failed him big time. Someone like him doesn’t just drop from the sky, he is a product of his environment and his upbringing..!

I can not believe how slow the response time for this incident was. This courthouse security needs an overhaul big time!
Like what? You could have done better?

Perhaps we should unleash such fed up people onto SCOTUS? Hey, if Trump can use "Mafia Boss" talk to unleash his MAGA crazies onto everyone who is anti-Trump, why not have a few pole-vaulters dive across the SCOTUS benches and into those black robes to give them a wake-up call? (Ketanji-Brown, and Kagan would be collateral damage - sorry) No one, and I mean no one gets to thumb their noses at and disrespect the American people without an eventual public shaming, And this SCOTUS deserves it. The Law Clerk's loyalty to his Judge is formidable. From the moment the criminal jumped over, and as soon as he was contained, the Clerk's attention went straight back to his Judge. Loyalty at its finest.
