This was new to all of us. Dimash doesn’t stop with surprises. You can’t put him in a box. He plays about seven instruments. At one,of his concerts, he played several instruments one after the other. He was in China for a few festivals and award shows. Those performances are always beautiful. The Chinese love Dimash so he is invited to many of their shows. If you don’t know, Dimash sang in a Chinese singing competition called Singer. This was in 2017. The show was for professional, Chinese singers. Dimash was invited to sing. He was 22. The youngest ever to participate. Other ages went from 30 to 60. He blew everyone away with his first song, SOS. He was a star over night, literally. Dimash came in second in the competition. His life hasn’t been the same since. His concerts are attended by fans from more than 60 countries. I hope to hear more of your reactions.
It's my new favorite now! It's his arrangement of/fresh spin on a beloved traditional Kazakh folk song. He looks and sounds for all the world like a Kazakh prince... then he hits you out of nowhere with a funky jazz arrangement! I've heard him use jazz and I know he's formally trained and educated in jazz. But this is the first time I've seen him do it with such growl and swing! 😮😎 I think he may have absorbed it since he's been in the states. I love it! 🔥❤
He wouldn't have been able to compose The Story of One Sky if he didn't play at least the piano.

He plays 7 instruments. He was winning piano competitions at the age of 5. Dimash has a video where he’s playing his composition, The Story of One Sky on the keyboard! He’s a brilliant pianist!

Dimash plays more than 7 instruments at this time, he composes, writes lyrics, sings in about 16 or more languages, speaks at least 5 o6 now. Cobyz is the instrument in video. Dimash holds a Master Degree in composition, several degrees in a variety of genres. Sooo much more to learn of him as a singer but also as a human being. Several good interview vids around. Take a look at them. Makes a difference to the ways u think about a person when u go below the surface of what see of him.

The instrument a Dombra, 2 stringed, traditionally the strings made of horsehair and gut, played by the nomads of the Kazakh steppes. His paternal Grandfather, a Master Player, honored by his government and considered a "national treasure" . Beloved by Dimash, he taught him to play the dombra and chess as a little boy, they played both together all his life, his grandfather recently deceased.

I don't think he speaks five languages. Fluent Kazakh and Russian, pretty good English and a little Mandarin is all I know about.

Its a Kazakh folk song about a young Russian girl who fell in love with a Kazakh boy, who she called Dudar (which means curly, pertaining to his hair) Though its a cute song lyrically the truth behind the song is much more tragic, as folk songs tend to be. He has sung this song before, but this is a new arrangement and I love it. So catchy.
Dimash plays 7 different instruments. It probably should come as no surprise given a talented he is and the fact that he is a composer. He has played the piano and the dombra since he was very young. He plays drums very well and more recently I think even though it's been a while He's been playing guitar along with a few others that escape me at the moment.

I'd have the check your playlist, but he played piano in Adagio on the Singer 2017, as well as drums in another song there. He's also played the Dombra many times in several of his Kazakh songs.

That was a dombra. I’ve seen him play piano, keyboard, drums, electric guitar, xylophone, and his friends in his performances play the Kobyz, rain stick, flute, ethnic percussion instruments, and normal band backup instruments. Plus, in his home studio, he has other ethnic instruments mounted on the wall. I imagine he plays all of them.

Sabes por qué? Porque por lógica ellos buscan visualizaciones y like. Como paso con Ceci Dober que se hizo más conocida reaccionando a Dimash, pero ya se olvidó de él y ahora reacciona más a otros artistas. Hasta se da el lujo de decir que no le gustan algunas interpretaciones de Dimash cuando antes habla maravillas de él. Se vale, le tiene que buscar pero se nota su ingratitud. Deje de seguirla por l mismo.

I know that he studied Jazz in music college, but it's great to hear him turn a folk song into a jazz/funk style, and he did it so well! Then, of course he did, it's Dimash!! I'm surprised you didn't know he plays instruments 🤔 as he plays dombra regularly in concerts. He actually plays around 7 instruments as well as immitating some with his voice!
He has been in China performing in several events. The Join Hands song with Wei Wei (pronounced Way Way) was a new song written for them to perform in the Golden Panda Awards show and he has also sung two other duets with Chinese female singers, one that he was on Singer with back in 2017 and the third one inside a cave, which wad beautiful. The story behind "Dudarai", a traditional Kazakh song. It is a love story between a 17-year-old Russian girl Mariam and a Kazakh boy named Dudar. The story is set in the early 20th century. Duisen was his real name, but because of his curly hair he called him Dudar. He was already married to another woman when Mariam laid eyes on him, but his young wife died soon after the birth of their son. A little later, Dudar and Mariam ran away together, took the child with them and hid in the wild lands. Over time, their love was accepted by the villagers, and their elders gave them permission to marry. Maryam then converted to Islam to marry Dudar. After some time, Dudar fell ill and died childless. According to Kazakh-era custom, Mariam then married one of Dudar's brothers, with whom she had four children. One of these sons was named Dudar, after his first love. The original poem has more verses, but this is the version sung by DI on CCTV1's Beauty and Harmony program.
