  • This video shows how to parge and plaster your basement or foundation walls with a mortar skim coat to prevent leaks and flooding. Parging is a layer of mortar that you trowel or plaster onto your walls in order to provide a clean, flat surface for painting. It also protects your wall and acts as a moisture barrier.

Why type N? I have only seen type S used. Type N is slow drying. I am using a Durock product which says no bonding agent is needed. Would you agree?

All the paints peel after sanding and primer

Paint peeling off wood is almost always because of moisture in the wood.

Why did you use type N not S?

Type N is softer and is less likely to cause cracking in the concrete wall during movement or under water pressure.

Hope you’re paid by the hour bud. Use type s. Soup that mud up a bit . Wait a half hour and sponge . Your as slower then a first year apprentice.
