Sorry for going AWOL again, uni has me really busy. If you commented a suggestion on the last video, I have put it on my list. Just know that it's pretty long with all your suggestions, so I won't run out of anything to upload :) I'm going to see about making an upload schedule so I don't have these 2 month gaps. Thanks for your patience everyone.
that cello solo in the beginning was played by this guy a year ahead of me. i was in love with him for like four years after that lmao. the power of music ig
@wildman4709 yessir violas r so underrated. We have 18 cellos and only 4 violas and I'm one of the violas and I'm not even that good at this song. I'm in 11th grade.😭😭😭
My school played this for our festivals last year, we practically had it perfected exactly if not better than this video, we went to all-state earning a superior with distinction.
She'd probably hate my orchestra LMAO. My school played this song at 1.3x marking tempo for all-state and earned a superior with distinction with it. But she obviously didn't want it that fast. It just sounds better to our orchestra (I was the soloist for cello).
For anyone who doesn't know. This is the story of how the zodiac Scorpio became a constellation. Artemis was in love with Orion, but Orion was arrogant and denied Artemis affection. It left Artemis sad. Zeus had an issue with Orions behavior, so he created the Scorpion to hunt Orion to kill him. Once the the Scorpion finished the job, Zesus sent Orion and the Scorpio into the skies together. That's why their constellation was together in the Sky. So if you're a Scorpio like me, you're essentially an assassin 🥰
There are many iterations of this myth. The one I that I learned had Orion as a son of Gaia and Poseidon, who could walk on the sea as though it were land, allowing him to hunt across oceans and never lose his prey. This caused Artemis to develop an infatuation with him, and Apollo being the wary brother he is, became worried that Artemis would break her vows. So he sent a scorpion to kill Orion, and Orion slew the scorpion after it fatally poisoned him in the heel. Artemis hung his body in the stars to become the Orion constellation, whereupon Apollo, always carrying a grudge, put the scorpion in an opposing section of the night sky so that as the seasons changed and different constellations became visible, the scorpion would chase Orion out of the sky as it did in life.
My orchestra is going to play this for our upcoming concert, along with Rutter's suite for strings. We haven't gotten the sheet music for this piece yet, but it sounds like a challenge.
