Billboard recently called him one of the 10 “Producers Who Defined the Sound of 2000” and “a critical player in the neo-soul movement of the late ‘90s and 2000s.” Now James steps out from behind the piano and tells the stories of creating the music that shaped a generation. From Eryka Badu and Lauryn Hill to D’Angelo, Jill Scott, and Common, James had a hand in writing and playing on their everlasting hits.
