Excellent video as always Kelly. I cut lots of different card stock on my Cricut and I don’t think I pay enough attention to all the variables like stickiness of the mat, sharpness of the blade, pressure settings etc. I was particularly interested in your explanation of colours and fibre length in a card stock making a difference, and it makes perfect sense when you think about it. I also don’t do enough test cuts so I need to pay much more attention to that. Thank you so much for all the tips and tricks, really really helpful. I didn’t realise there was a premium blade available, I might have to treat myself to one of those! Can’t wait to check out your e-book too! ❤😘

I use 110 lb cardstock. I cut square shape cards. It cuts them out fine. BUT...the corners are not smooth. Does anyone have any suggestions for mat and settings. I have the Cricut maker.

Hmm that is strange! I usually ask myself these questions first: Is my cardstock completely dry (it absorbs ambient moisture)? What kind of cardstock am I using? Is my blade sharp? Am I trying the intricate cardstock setting?

1:22-1:32: Ah, ha! I first experienced this in December while making holiday gift tags (i.e., snowflakes, etc.). I tried cleaning my blade and then ultimately bought a new blade, thinking that was the issue. I'll try adding more pressure if this occurs again.

Wow! Thanks for sharing all your research with us. It helped! PS - I always get a grin when I hear our European friends pronouncing it "Cry-cut". We call it a "Cricket" in the US - due to the little cricket logo.

I was so hopeful when I started watching but darn.. I have, over time, tried these tips and honestly, I feel like I am trying to trick the machine into doing what it is supposed to be doing! The latest fiasco was a stencil I made and chose the mylar setting. It was a lengthy cut, I made sure it was cut twice and I could see that it was cutting but surprise, most of the pieces were cut "almost". So frustrating weeding and using an exacto and scissors to complete the cutting. I only got a section done and decided it isn't worth it.
The black cardstock info was helpful. Thank you! Just subscribed.

I'm sorry you couldn't find exactly what you are looking for. If you have tried everything and are trying a similar design to what I did in this video - and it still doesn't work - It might be your machine. I would recommend trying to find another machine to test it on. Perhaps your machines mechanics are just slightly out. They require such delicate calibration (by the manufacturers, nothing we can do like we calibrate for print then cut - this is something totally different), that perhaps there is something inside the machine that is wonky.

Kelly I love your videos! What are your thoughts on this, I’m attempting to print out colored text and emboss the entire text of this as shown in the emboss video with the get well soon card. I can’t seem to figure out the way to do this! Is this operation possible?

I havent tried, but you should be able to using the print then cut function, but lining everything up would be quite tricky, especially if you want to use a template.
