the only thing I did not like about the helios A8X is the colour. and also the logo colour same as black .. it needs a special night vision to see the polygon written on the body in the daytime. I think polygon should introduce some brighter colour with contrasting logo in these bikes. they need to show their polygon bike right ..not shy away to hide their name. it feels like they are so shy to show their own logo which is weird.
@@pbenjlo Congrats Pierre! Wait no freaking way! It comes with garmin mount?! Maybe in your region it does comes with it which is definitely a plus point :)
Generally i would aim for hybrid bikes with 700c tires for more efficient pedaling. Means using the least energy from Point A to B. Giant Escape, Polygon Path or Decathlon's Riverside 400/500. Really depends on how much you are willing to spend :)
Winspace Hyper easily the best possible upgrade for best bang for buck. There are tons of options out there worth considering depending on your budget :)
Cam Nicholls reviewed the A8X and said it weighed 1.6kg but rode like 2kg wheelset. Since good wheelset is quite expensive, I wonder if this is a good value proposition after all?
@WiserBiker hi there, seeking your advise. The website recommends S for riders with height 162-170cm and M for 168-176cm. How did you feel about riding the size S? I am 171.5 to be very exact and I am wondering if I should down one size
@@WiserBiker I like to speed ride in the morning for around 1.5 hours. Just to keep my adrenaline flowing (This include flat terrains and mountains). Any opinions?
Good video. Like the presentation. Agree with the colour issue. It would be better to have another option since its the exact same frame with A7 & A8 (actually prefer A8 colour) .Heard no stock for this A8X even in Malasysi. Is there problems in Polygon side for this model?
Thank you Adrian! Oh yeah, we would love the color of A8 if we can ever choose. This just means how high demand is globally 😅 Shortages everywhere unfortunately
Hi Alex, for Size S the whole bike weighs 7.9kg. The wheels are pretty heavy, they are 1.8kg which we are sure if you can easily swap out to a pair of much lighter wheels :)
@@alexmark9147 absolutely but i believe that is the industry norm. For most bikes, they provide average wheels for you. Maybe their consideration is that people will change out to their preferred brand of wheels hence not much point for them to use a quality pair of wheels. We might be wrong 😅
review this: try buying a M frame with a 40cm wide and 130mm stem cockpit....dare you. and yes, that bar (40x130) is made by vision. they have it on their site. so, dare you....

Love your review. Very thorough. You answered all my questions. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for your kind words!
Excellent review. This is certainly in my bucket list.
You won't regret it :)
Curious to hear from people who've bought the A8x, thoughts on the matte raw carbon finish?

What’s the Helios brand manufacture country?
Indonesia 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Nice ! I'm waiting for mine this week, can't wait to ride it.
Does it come with the garmin mount for the Vision bars?
Awesome Pierre! Unfortunately it does not come with the mount, do get yourself one soon! Hope to hear from you again after your ride with Helios!
@@WiserBiker Just got my A8X and I received the Garmin mount in the box :)

what budget bike would you recommend for food delivery? max 1000sgd but of course the cheaper the better!

you don't like the entity wheelset because it feels heavy. so in your opinion, what wheelset is suitable for this bike?

Or Elitewheels Drive 50D
@@beatapindel3955 Another solid recommendation! We are blessed with variety of choices in the market :)
@@beatapindel3955exact wheels I've ordered too. Have Elite Marvel 50D on my CAAD12, and they're absolutely fantastic quality for the money too.

Great review. May i know what bike size r u riding and ur height pls?
The one we tested is size S and rider height is 172cm 👍🏼
i’m 1.73. Do u think S size may fit me as well as from size chart, it states recommended size is M. 😅
I am 170cm polygon recommends the S but I decided to get the Xs and it fits perfectly.

Does this bike significantly differ from Helios A7?
They use the same frame same across all the Helios. Just that the components used are different
@@WiserBiker Thanks for your insights. I am still debating between S8D and A8.
@@AhamedIfham Hahahaha. What kind of ride are you into? S8D has a more relax geometry while Helios is more aggressive for more speed

Woww..nice bike from polygon. Weight full bike??
Bike without pedals weighs 7.9kg for Size S. Swap out the wheels and getting the weight down to 7.5kg is not difficult at all :)

Quite expensive for polygon bike. That's why you have to preorder
Nice review! Too ex for weekend cyclist. 😅 Very nice bike.
Yeah have to admit its expensive for weekend cyclist. However it is definitely worth the money for people who want to pursue speed :D
