@@MonkeyNessI have Majora’s Mask for the 3DS but I haven’t played it yet because I’m playing Ocarina of Time and in the Spirit Temple and I’m on the TwinRova fight.
For the gunpowder thing. It's important to note that a "gun" is classified as a firearm that is a metal tube that is loaded with ammo and fired through combustion. Cannons are guns. But crossbows are not. It's why in countries that have strict gun control allow crossbows. Just thought that would also be neat to know, considering the next fact was about Link's Crossbow training. lol

It's up there, for me! My favorite Zelda is always changing, depending on my mood. Some of my favorites are Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Link's Awakening. :)
Majora's Mask is like my Top 3rd Zelda, first being Windwaker and second being Link's Awakening. The atmosphere, the characters and the mechanic of the 3 day cycle make the game really tense and I love it.
Great video. You briefly mentioned Twilight Princess serving as a continuation and final chapter of the Hero of Time's story, which is something I think a lot of fans gloss over or even miss. People get the Ocarina of Time parallels easy enough, because it follows the general format and layout of that game, but the Majora's Mask links are more narrative and thematic so they can fly under the radar a bit. The Hero of Twilight heals not just the Hero of Time but the Twili, who are pretty evidently intended to be the dark tribe who created the Majora's Mask, and allow them to make up for their past misdeeds by assisting Link in defeating the true evil. That ad hoc trilogy in the series is probably my favourite section of the timeline. If you play them as a trilogy, you really see just how easily they flow from one to the other.
@@AdvancePlays thats the same Link, there’s plenty of different wats to look at it. The hero of Twilight meeting the hero of Time is cool and all but I don’t consider TP a game in the Hero of Time’s arc.
@@chrisbeach423 But the trilogy isn't about a single character, it's about a greater theme of the unstoppable procession of time, regret, death, legacy, and healing. All 3 games comment on these interconnected ideas. The Toon Link trilogy, which in btw Spirit Tracks is a different Link, is about the destruction of an old world and its traditions, and the founding of a new one. It's not just "here's a guy in his first adventure, then the middle one, then the last one"
Definitely some stuff I didn't know yet, very nice! I think the big theme from Ocarina of Time returning in this game is kinda tragic. "Good Blood" has a really good video on Ocarina's theme. You spend your childhood getting bullied for not being a "real man" with a fairy companion (kokiri culture is weird), and this theme of being seen as a powerless kid keeps returning. Then you become an adult through sword shenanigans, you save a bunch of sages that all seem to symbolize key milestones of adulthood, and you beat the big scary thing and become the hero you've always drawn yourself to be. And Zelda goes "you're missing 7 years of your life, go back". And it doesn't work. Because Link has speedrun all of these key adult milestones, and he's stripped from the version of himself he always wanted to be. And the only one who remembers that version of him decides to fly off. And then Link gets his nose kicked in several times in quick succession and we call that game Majora's Mask. First off, the game robs him of even the little growth he's had; oh, he's old enough to ride a horse now? I'll be taking that. Remember your childhood bully doing a little breakdance to stop you from going places because you don't have a sword because you're not a MAN? Welcome back! Haha, look, this kid can't get married to the girl he loves because he's a man stuck in a child's body! Why aren't you laughing? Hey, wanna see children ripped away from their parents in Woodfall? Wanna see it happen 3 more times? Wait, you were brought here because your fairy companion had other business and you decided to chase it because you have a parasocial relationship to this symbol of adulthood? Have you met Skull Kid, who has two fairies, is eternally childish and has severe anxiety about his friends leaving him to do other business? How about Tingle, who is 35 and obsessed with when his fairy will come to him? It's all hitting a little bit close to home, innit?
Complete speculation, but I can imagine that after Skull Kid turns you into the deku scrub, he would use the mask created as a result to mock you by transforming into you. Rather than the mask salesman using the song of healing to transform you back, you would steal the mask of your child/human form back from Skull Kid during the fight atop the tower. Makes sense to me, but again, purely speculation.
In the manga, the beast's armor could grant wishes because he had eaten so many people who wanted to defeat him, that their wills infused into his armor and made it magical. I just thought it was so interesting
Majoras Mask is one of my favorite games on my Nintendo 2DS, i never played on the N64 Console version but i actually really enjoy this game lot so much good memories i been playing. 😌❤
I reccomend the 64 version if you can give it a try. The bosses are better designed, the inverted song of time gives you more time to work with than in the 3ds version, and best of all: the zora swimming is actually fun
Consider playing the original version once. The OoT remake was great on the 3DS, but for some reason they changed things on the MM remake that make it not as fun.
At the end there when you're talking about the burden Link carries with him, I want to point out that the hero of time saved two worlds and no one knows he did it. Hyrule where he's sent back in time erasing everything he went through, and in Termina where because of the time loop to everyone else it just looks like their giant guardian deities saved the town from the moon, not Link. He doesn't even get to enjoy the festival at the end. The hero of time is the saddest Link of them all.
I think the horror and the darkness hidden behind the bright colorful and childish art style is one of the biggest reasons why I love this game so very much! I also knew all of these secrets, but that is probably because I love this game so much and learned everything I could about it.
Big props to you for putting this video together even without a capture card! The struggles of having to work with what you have are real and you did great!
the funny thing about the stock pot inn rupees is that in the 3ds remake they actually took away the ability to use the zora barrier inside the inn, but if you use the restricted items glitch to put a bomb next to the masks in the lobby, you’ll still get the rupees from them
Majora's Mask is probably one of the most controversial games in the series. Most people who play it don't beat it, but most people who do count it as one of (if not) their favorite Zelda games.
Interesting fact about the Ikana River spitting you out at the swamp, there's a Gossip Stone somewhere in Ikana (I forget where, might have been Stone Tower? Idk) that actually tells you as much if you use the Mask of Truth to interact with it.
I didn't like majora's mask the first time i played it. It was because i was too young and was frustrated by the time mechanics. They based the whole thing off of some videos they were shown of Majoras Mask before the game was actually released that’s why there’s a bunch of cut areas and story beats in the manga and why some events play out very differently from the actual game. The manga may not be canon but I think the bonus chapter could be, it atleast fits well with the lore of MM.
