Few Puerto Ricans know that the most arrogant and self-centered nation in the world needed the help of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 to gain their independence. Soldiers from Puerto Rico, under the command of Bernardo de Galvez governor of Louisiana, fought for the American Revolution for the independence of the 13 American colonies, and they also fought at Bunker Hill. The 4th of July should be celebrated to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 QUE VIVA LA REPUBLICA DE PUERTO RICO 🇵🇷
Under the command of Bernardo de Gálvez, soldiers from Puerto Rico played a significant role in the American Revolution. Bernardo de Gálvez, the governor of Spanish Louisiana, led a diverse force that included Puerto Ricans and other Hispanics. His troops captured key British-held cities such as Baton Rouge, Mobile, and Pensacola ¹ ². However, there is no historical evidence to suggest that Puerto Rican soldiers fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill. The Battle of Bunker Hill took place on June 17, 1775, and was primarily fought by New England colonial militia against British forces³. Bernardo de Gálvez's involvement in the American Revolution began in 1779 when Spain entered the war against Britain⁴. So, while Puerto Rican soldiers did contribute significantly to the American Revolution under Gálvez's command, they did not participate in the Battle of Bunker Hill. @ he was black. I’m a mixed person from Puerto Rico. My grandpa was a black man. And so was Albizu. I understand the nuance as I didn’t see myself as a mixed race person growing up in PR. But, once I moved the states, I learned to get in touch with my black ancestry. It’s a good thing that we tend to leave out of our bios. Race isn’t the same thing on the island as it is on the contiguous US. Here, we would have way more power in numbers if we understood that we are all one. There are so many interests betting on not telling our true story. Inside and outside the island. For example, PPD cannot let their base know that their party was originally composed and fighting for the island’s independence. But Muñoz sold his soul to the US established and betrayed Albizu. That’s when all the persecution against independence started. Not from the PNP, but from Muñoz.
Nowadays Puerto Rico is facing a truly historical moment. People are tired and sick of the ups and downs of the traditional leading political parties which have done nothing but pilfering the countries budgets and hampering real progress. But new alternatives are surging, including going back to using coalition movements, a practice that had not been used for over a century in Puerto Rican politics. Youngsters are taking the lead in facing the current political issues and offering new insights and hope to the political scene, turning their backs on the traditional and archaic parties with their old-fashioned and disinformed ideas and giving their support to a new breed of young but well-educated leaders. I sure hope this short film serves as an inspirational device to bolster that new hope. A full-length movie on the subject, with such high quality of cinematography and excellent acting is urgently needed, in order to capitalize in this new political and cultural renaissance.

@@TheStefanp10This was after the First World War in the early 1930s if I'm not mistaken. The Spanish where here from 1493 to 1898.
Can we get a full bio pic please! Well done!
Nice short film. Acting was good. Nice introduction to history that isn't well known. Very professional.
We are losing the youth.. please bring back a documentary to represent this man who fought for our country Puerto Rico
This needs to be a movie!
Great short film. Needs to be a documentary on Albizu and his work fighting the oppression of U.S. colonialism on the people of Puerto Rico.
Que Viva Puerto Rico LIBRE
Long live our Freedom fighter Pedro Albuiz Campos
Excellent performances and great job on the overall production. Kudos! 👏
Amazing! Short, yet so powerful! ¡Maravilloso! ¡Corto, pero aún poderoso!
Espectacular!! Very good actors and tight script. Leaves me thirsting for more. If you keep these actors you can make a full feature film. Te felicito! Keep it up. Godspeed. ✊🏽

Today im in puerto rico saw my great grandfathers grave w the nationalist flag wavering over his site. (Look it up all black flag with a white looming cross) - nationalist flag. This has distilled a new found of life in me to know the real puerto rico and how i can make it better!!

I'm proud to be Puerto Rican 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷 viva puerto rico I love this film
Thank you for this short, but impactful historical account that demonstrated the content of a man's character, and not the color of his skin.
My great-great-uncle Rafael Martinez Nadal, who was the third Senator of Puerto Rico, fought for the same causes.
God bless you for the work you're doing.🙏
Bless you for being so kind
Que viva Puerto Rico libre del colonialismo
Excelente! bravo! now the full film
I just subbed. We need more of this. Puerto Ricans need to stand proud of their heritage.💪🗝️👑
If only men of such integrity ran Washington DC.
I’m so glad I came across this video ❤ proud boricua right here !!
You are so kind thank you!
Love his PR pride!
Thank you for making this film 👏 👍 muchas gracias
How come I have never seen this short before? I am a proudly graduate of the first high school that bears his name. (Esc Superior Pedro Albizu Campos in Levittown, PR).
NO PODRA SUPERAR. 😢
I would love to see a full length biopic… this is amazing
Viva Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 Libre
Art is a means of communication, it's used to assist in motivating the masses, to create changes socially and economically. 🔱🇵🇷🔱. Amor Boriken
This was awesome, you should make a movie of his whole life story
I love seeing important turning points in history brought to life, especially ones that aren't as well known as they should be. Great work! The story was very elegantly told.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent film....I moved to this island last year from Philadelphia and I've been learning about it's history ever since and I love this island and it's people immensely..
Love that!
You have to make the full movie
in addition to this film, Nelson Denis, book "a wat against all puertoricans is a must read.
Here after Bad Bunny’s release if DTmF. An awakening call for Puerto Rico’s youth to reclaim their island and fight with honor like Albizu did. Thank you for not letting him and his sacrifices be forgotten.
I've heard from many folks who were recommended my short film from Bad Bunny's. I am truly grateful, since he has released that awesome project my short film gained like 100,000 views!
Well done. 🇵🇷
Tantas historias hermosas de mi linda Isla Puerto Rico. Y ahora tenemos toda esta corrupción en la Isla! Me alegro de que Don Albizo Campos no esté vivo para ver esto!
¡Porque le hemos fallado!
I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL ALBIZU CAMPOS & MY BELOVED 🇵🇷 . ALBIZU & I SHARE THE SAME BIRTHDAY 9/12. WHEREVER WE GO WE SHINE LIKE THE 1 STAR ON OUR PRECIOUS FLAG!
La palabras claves : RESPETO, RESISTENCIA Y LEALTAD.🇵🇷❤
This MAN is a bigger hero than we will ever know. He helped Valero with the Irish Constitution and struggles for independence. Exposed plots of genocide against minorities. Made enemies of the establishment. Challenge the statues quote every chance he had.
WoW muy bien pero quiero ver la pelicula completa , please is amazing !
Great piece of work
