Farmers tend to do what farmers want unless you pay them to do otherwise. Cheap leases have few perks, while big money leases tend to get special ag treatments. My advice is get some guarantees on paper before you pay. Things like maintained water levels, when and how the soil will be manipulated, and blind/s placements. Most Arkansas farmers are great to work with but there's always that one...

Check out Delta Duck leases out there in northeast Arkansas. They own Duxmen outfitters. That is Who we lease from and they have tons of options along the Cache and Bayou Deview. They are a little bit more on the expensive side though. How do you go about leasing your fields? Do you talk to the farmer directly or do you lease from a sub lease agent?? I would love some information. Thanks! ohh and we are from Bama also! Roll Tide!

Roll Tide! I prefer to work directly with farmers, most of the time as they are my kind of folks. However, there are some turds out there too. I’ve been hunting the same area for about 12 years so I think it helps network being in one area as opposed to moving around. I like to be in an area close to public land as well since I do a good bit of that. My advice is be honest and upfront with whoever you talk to and do what you say you’re going to do, be good to the farmers, communicate and respect their land and the resources. Things are really hard to screw up with that approach, I’ve found. Bad reputations spread much faster than good ones.

My recommendation is to ask local people and see if you can get a name of a farmer or land owner. it helps if you frequent the area and begin hunting around others. Follow me on instagram and send me a DM. I may have something for them, depending on what they're looking for.
