Many of their tunes reached the "megahit" status; some have taken home many Grammys. Right after Simon and Steven left, the show began sliding off the track. Unfortunately, Nicki dampened and stained the atmosphere. From there, the talent seemingly got weaker; the show barely had it's head above water. Sadly, the past few seasons were a sharp contrast from the days of Kelly, Carrie, David Cook, Adam Lambert (the most gifted vocalist ever), and a few others. Idol recovered a bit on the closing. I also think America got it right by awarding Trent the Idol---From the live vote, he and "Porche" were the frontrunners. Ryan's last farewell words could not have been better. That said, I smell something down the road.

Love Steven Tyler. Lauren Alaina worked with my special needs daughter when they were in Middle school together. She flew us out to see her on American Idol she sang, "The Climb". All my daughter wanted to do was meet Steven Tyler, so Lauren went and got him. He was so sweet and kind to my daughter. He sat with her for a good 5 minutes and security kept telling him he had to go. He left with telling my daughter he loves her. And she loves him. ❤

The irony of this is performance is that if he auditioned for American Idol and wasn't famous they wouldn't have thought his voice was a proper "pop" voice and probably would have denied him.

I have always thought that Aerosmith sucked after the 70s. After seeing this, I actually want to see an Aerosmith concert now. I will suffer through Dude Looks Like a Lady as long as I get to see the band crush this one awesome fucking song.

So true! How many judges have you seen, that begun in late 69, had a debut in 78, broke up, came back in 84, getting high every day, almost lose his voice, getting more, more, more hits in mid 90, with Crazy, Amazing, Cryin' and Don't Want To Miss A thing, then getting high again everyday, and then, after 40 years of rock, sex and drug live STILL able to do that at 1:47.
