Yep. Was my favorite pitcher . I wanted to pitch when I was younger. Had a chance but didn’t have the control but probably could have with proper coaching. And that uncle Charlie of course ….
It’s interesting irony how it gave him the confidence he wanted “to be able to say no” but not being able to say no is exactly how he got addicted to it
Matter of fact I can tell y’all something a lot of people doesn’t know’but Doc’s hidden talent is being a dj Doc is just as good as dj jazzy Jeff on the turntables Fareal “ God Bless the Doc
I feel so bad Doc and by him telling his first foray into his life of addiction made me remember what it felt like my first time as well. The rush of adrenaline I felt when he described what the house looked like. Just imagine how great he would have been if he wasn't in the life of addiction.
I remember the story that Daryl Strawberry told about how he and Dwight owed a local drug dealer loads of cash and the drug dealer called NY Mets management for ransom and they had to pay it cuz he was holding them hostage before a game.
Me and my father are huge Mets fans and my dad being around the 80s he always tells me and to this day about the story of Dwight Gooden and Darryl strawberry.🍓
The best Mets team ever. I only paid attention to baseball a few years and the mid 80s was it. I was born in 73 so right around 13 and 14 years old. It was the dream team.
This was just like me, I was extremely shy as a youngn, and as I got older (20's) and got a taste of cocaine (with the help of alcohol) I got cofident and could talk to the ladies and got addicted (4 about 30 plus years) some good times some bad.
So good to see him not grinding. I love Doc and Strawberry. My best party ever was night after night of Mets and RedSox. I was hung over for a week after a week + of non stop drinking
God, have saw Doc threw the bad times in his life he look and sound like my Cousin David From Oakland. David live by the baseball field growing up. He was a nice looking man. People have to be careful who they hang around and the choices the make . A lot of people ask me to smoke weed , I said Hell no . I smoke Benson & Hedges
I can't count how many people who have told me they started using coke or crack with a woman. It's mind boggling. Makes the story of Adam and Eve so relevent.
Not the devil. Thats y’all’s problem. Always want to blame a third party to promote religion. The issue is YOU. Lack of wisdom, knowledge, education, intelligence, being easily manipulated by peer pressure.
I applaud VLAD for not interrupting a legend describing turntables and albums.
Doc was a force to be reckon with back in the day,His curve ball was deadly!!
The devils temptation is no joke ..
He always come when your on top of the world to bring you down to his world
Also the temptation of “what drugs can do for you” really hits hard on people who’s shy and don’t want to be, like Gooden was by his own admission
@@joojoobaw like I said ..the devils temptations..sex drugs..money..etc
@@mojojackson9390sex it the devils temptation now? People are weird believing in make believe
Man I remember watching him pitch. Sweet science of pitching at its best. His rising fastball was AMAZING.

My childhood right here. I only watched baseball a few years and 86 was one of them.
I always wanted to catch up with Dwight Gooden’s backstory

A woman was the reason i did coke my first time too. 😂😂😂
It's always a friend or a romantic relationship.
@@yizzlekizzle2311 most obvious statement ever 😂 what else, somebody would just wake up one day and go “hey I wanna try this drug all by myself”

Still a great athlete to say the least. Now is his best performance after baseball.
