I got REALLY lucky one night when I stopped at a jam session in Vancouver and Don came in and put on a show. I had no idea what to expect when this guy got up and was quickly blown away.
You know...I've heard alot of guitar...I've heard alot of harps...crap, I've heard alot of music in general....but....nothing compares so far to this.....the ambiance of that music...is...so enchanting to listen to. I could go on forever talking, but I can't discribe the peace I feel from listening to this

It's called a harp guitar. It has the standard number of guitar strings but also includes the bass register strings to expand the possiblities for composition. There are many great players composing on Harp guitars. Look for Michael Hedges who brought his own unique style to the Harp Guitar.
