This game has an amazing platform to build off of for a current gen remaster. It is a shame Genki is dead. With some updated graphics, physics, in-car view and more tracks. It could be a top seller if promoted properly.

@@ChannelNotFound it's the next best thing but what I don't like about modded assetto with touge and shutoko is that no one ever truely battles in public servers, it's all just lot's of cruising and new comers crashing too often. Also no public servers care about balance with their car packs.

One very interesting thing about this game: You need to actually match engine parts (3 parts in each section) to get the most out of it, a "Critical!" label will appear if you happen to have 3 parts that is best matched to each other installed on your car. At this point the engine will have its highest possible output available.
This is one of the great PS2 games on nearly almost the end of the PS2 life cycles. Graphics look close to the PS3 I wish they had this for PS3.
yes, i discover it now and im surprise with the graphics... and the engine building parts i think is the top of what i found in many games, including new... becouse it make you feel like real tuner
This game had such an amazing layout of courses. Narrow and challenging appropriately too. The gymkhana mode was awesome too, a great learning tool
not to mention dirt tracks & random dirt patches to make it harder

I like how things get super intense at 19:22 when hakone becomes available(Like it telling you "yo, these tracks gonna fuck you up"). Then just goes back to fun dopey menu music.
Reminds me of tony hawk's downhill jam. Not one of the best tony hawk games, but menus and things like that were awesome.

I've been playing this game on a burned copy on my PS2 and I drive an S12 with 231hp. All it takes to learn how to drift correctly is tons of practice.
You're gonna put all that practice to use on the track Hakone Nanamagari, which is my favorite track by the way.

I remember when i was a spoiled lil kid my mom bought me this game ( kaido battle with blue car on the cover ) i got so mad because i want another racing game, i never play this until moved out.. about 10 years later

Took me a cool ass minute to figure out how to actually drift in this game but once I got it down I would slide like butter. The technique I used before hitting a corner was slamming the brake, quick tap on the e-brake while turning in and shifting down then IMMEDIATELY letting off the normal brake and gassing out while counter-steering. If you’re playing in auto, just do all that without the downshift (obviously because you can’t). If you’re driving an AWD, you do the same but you won’t really need to counter-steer. FFs are prolly the easiest to get points in for drifting cuz it’s hard to lose your control and hit a wall.
Another tip in getting cars quicker, if you have a car that has upgrades but you wanna sell it for a faster car, if your old car parts are compatible with the new one, just strip your old car n sell it so when you get the new one you won’t have to buy those upgrades again you can just install it. I also sell all the car parts separately if I’m selling a car for another with non compatible parts. You’ll get more money that way rather than just selling the car with the upgrades. I made millions by just doin that alone lmao.
This game was so overlooked because it wasnt as flashy as other street racing games

I’ve been researching this game quite a bit. I can upload some Cheat Tables to where you can experiment with them. Also the Art Category is easy to access too.
You pretty much need to force the game to read that set though
and funnily enough I can change current car coordinates to get out of the maps too. Took some searching to find the correct coords in Floats, but well worth it in the end

When early in a game... a 350Z rival spawns yet you cannot buy one until after you defeat one of the Omote Rokko, Nikko or Shiga Kusatsu slasher.
Yes. Fairlady Z33 isn't available to buy in a new car dealership until you defeat one of the Stage 3 bosses/slashers.
@@metaliczic96 Correct, the Supra A80 also joins the one S3 unlock requirement, the NSX-R and facelift FD requires all three slashers in S3 defeated.
For example, the R34 GT-R requires you to approach one Yeti or Miracles, but the Evo requires beating either of them, the Clio and RS6 requires both. If i beat Hiroshima before Hakone, the S1 unlock requirements already apepar (eg. SR20DET-powered S13s)

countdown 321 go = 2.999-0.000s and go
drift fail = stop judgment (it should be judgement but we appreciate how the dev struggles to translate them)

You can use pcsx2 to emulate the PS2 and use an iso of this game to run it on PC, I played the first game on it with an Xbox One controller and it's worked fine, downloading this game rn

@@KanzakiZD no idea but I got 8 gigs of ram and an integrated Intel card which is only capable of 512mb of vram at maximum that's all I know, I believe I got like 1.8GHz but I'm not sure

@@KanzakiZD hm I'm not sure, it might just be the iso itself that's causing the issue, I mean it's a PS2 game it shouldn't require a very good setup or anything, it might be the iso that is conflicting with the emulator, just a guess tho, I'm not really an expert on these things either

I remember beating the 350z with a barely modified mitsubishi mirage before, but for some reason i restarted my progress and never got to beat him again, so i basically gave up and just free run
buy the honda CRX as your starter car, set the gears in your car to 200k/ph and youll walk past it

You have to unlock it by beating an early opponent named lightning shift. Funny enough it's a takumi replica ae86 with the tofu sticker and watanabes

There’s a trick to it you have to get used to. You have to pick the right tires and right lines. It’s pretty hard cuz this game handles like no other haha.

I burned a dvd to play this in my ps2, and in the intro, the game starts freezing, and then it crashes, then I hear how the ps2 start doing sounds like it is reading the disc to start it, and appears a now loading screen, someone knows how to help me?

And the driving gameplay sucks in the European version. Worse is : you don't have the bosses vinyls in the US and EU versions. You have to play the original version to have them.

I hated this game when I was a kid, and I still hate it now. I actually broke the entire disk into tiny pieces back then, because it made me soo angry the handling made me aggravated way too quickly, and I broke the controller with it too.
