  • Stingray was made in 1963 using a combination of electronic marionette puppetry and scale model special effects. It was APF's sixth puppet series and the third to be produced under the banner of "Supermarionation".

What's your favourite episode of Stingray? Who's your favourite character? Let us know!

Thanks Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, actors and crew. I enjoyed them growing up in the 60s and 70s. Still do, in 2023.

Stingray, for me, was and remains the best Supermarionation vehicle of them all... followed by Thunderbird 2.

I loved this show when I was a kid. Didn't miss an episode. Watched Fireball XL-5 and Thunderbirds as well. Gerry Anderson was a genius who knew how to entertain.

Start of Stingray probably most exciting start to any programme.

I was invited to a birthday party when I was age 6 and would have been the only boy there. But I didn't go as I would have missed Stingray on the Sunday afternoon.Anderson productions have always been part of my life, still is even though i'm now 61!

Finally! I fell in love with "Stingray" when I was a kid back in the 60's! Those opening titles still get me going!

It's amazing achievement how far puppetrey went starting with shows like twizzle and torchy the battery boy to stingray in just a few years

I wish I still had my toy Stingray from the 60s. Never missed an episode and loved the opening sequence with “beat to quarters” drumbeat. Anderson was a genius.

Wow, born in 1963, I never had these marionette puppetry series available to watch, but I'm sure I would've.

I got hooked on Fireball XL5 before I started school, but when I was in school, all that me and my boy classmates could talk about was stingray. I will always love watching the buildings being lowered underground. We didn't have a color tv then, so it was in black and white like Fireball XL5. I loved all the episodes.

Thunderbirds is my fav but Stingray comes a very close second. Opening titles always meant excitement and anticipation of another great episode. I'm in my 60s and my childhood was awesome thanks to the TV shows from the Anderson's.

These primer videos are great! I was seven years old when Stingray first aired, and I became obsessed with it. I saw the model and puppets on display at the Children's Exhibition in Olympia, too, and I think it was one of the driving forces that led me to a lifetime of model making.

Stingray appeared briefly in Aquaman, playing on Aquaman's dad's tv set.

I loved Stingray. Those mechanical fish scared the hell out of me, although I was only four!
