THAT is what I remember our family dig being like when I was a child. We almost broke that poor (nice) Lincoln Mark VII my mother drive.
Several years back, I took my family to share the memories. The best we were offerred was a scoop of DIRT from a backhoe spread out in a field. No digging, nothing to find but the tini-tiny fragments that were once likely part of a quartz crystal. I SO wish I could share the experience with my wife and son!
It makes me sad today.

Shaun Sim there is a guy in Salida, Co with a rock shop downtown that did just that. Not at this mine, but near Mt. Ida in a similar area.

These guys are pulling out over 10,000 pounds of amazing, terminated Quartz and I dig for so many hours and find tiny jagged crystals. This is unfair lol.
