So it is no surprise that Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan chooses his words with the care of a man handling a box of matches in a petrol station.
“Fear is not the right word,” he told the Telegraph in an interview in his Yerevan office this week when he felt about the danger of a third war in three years.

Look at any map from the antiquity. Armenia is one of the VERY few that existed then and still does, with the same people, language, etc. They've been balancing between empires (and barbarians) for a few thousand years now, nonestop. There's nothing new here.
And for a sizeable portion of that time, they were protected by their younger but much more powerful orthodoxbrothers in faith - Ru, Peter the great, and subsequent rulers ...all helped prevent their identity being erased, byOttomans etc.

The entire purpose of this interview, was to set him up against Putin, he did well.
The British policy is directed against Russia so they try to press on its allies. Pashinyan understands that very well so didn't give any answer, being aware that his answer would be directed against Putin.
Nikol is like a democratic West European leader; alas his neighbors are Azerbaijan and Turkiye.

This man doesn't care for Armenia, he wants to know if armenian authorities are going to arrest Putin in case he visits Armenia or not. These are his concerns in reality, not the dangerous situation that Azerbaijan can attack Armenia.
The exact opposite. This man knows the facts and knows that the dream of a great Armenia is actually a utopia. He knows he's hurting his people. Armenia established a state in a mountainous area between two Turkish states. If he does not establish good neighborly relations with us Turks, he will never see good days. We have no hostility towards Armenians. We even have a historical common past. But Armenians abroad dreaming of buying land from neighboring countries completely harms the Armenian people and state. It will be worse.
The Prime Minister of Armenia can be careful in his words, knowing that our ally Russia is in tact our worst enemy.
The Armenian people refuse this and demand the withdraw from the dead CSTO ant from other agreements with Russia and see their future with dedicatend to Europe!

Im a British/Armenian citizen and i just wanted to inform everybody reading my statement that i agreed to what our Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.As i said he spoke very clearly stating that he can not have the power to use any legal force against Vladimir Vladimorvich and that question should be asked to lawyers,court,armenian national court,police.Yes to some people he is a bad Prime Minister due to the loss of our land Nagorno Karabakh but he is doing a great job keeping relations with Azerbaijan stable he is making our Army more developed making relationships with the European Union and USA stronger which will always be a advantage for us.

If Armenia was attacked by anyone, Russia would defend it. Nagorno Karabach was not even recognised by Armenia, so Russia could not intervene according to CSTO agreements.

As an American Armenian who also lived in Armenia and Russia, I have to say I am proud of my nation's ability to handle itself with dignity and grace. And if there is one thing I'd like to remind all Western journalists is that Armenians are an extremely resourceful, resilient, and proud nation and will never admit being in awkward or weak position. After all, we survived genocide and still have one of the most influential diasporas in and cultural influences all over the world. So let's talk about how important it is for the West to build strong connection with Armenia instead of how Russia is bullying Armenia. Russia has been and will be a bully for a long long time so why to even talk about it.

Pashinyan tries to make Armenia understandable to the world. Sometimes I feel ashamed to see the leader of the country being have to explain things which people are supposed to learn at the age of 10-12: very basic logic. Sadly, the fact is, as a society, most people have be “9 years old” for at least the last 30+ years…

I suppose, Pashinyan has to be good in improving economics. This interview was absolutely empty: we haven't seen any plans or visions on what he wants to do or where he plans to go, it was like a small talk in the bar.
His country held a sizable territories of neighboring country Azerbaijan for decades, destroying cities and cultural objects, ruining mosques and graveyards. And if anything was planted there, it was fields with millions of mines. Hundreds of thousands of people from both sides were forced to flea for their lives. Calming this conflict won't be easy, but it worth all efforts from both sides.
He was a "journalist" before this, and not a very Good one like Chris Hedges, more like a Dana Bash, Rachael maddow or Blitzer. Pretty much a mealy mouthed-script reader...and empty verbiage generator.
Pashinyan hasn't been dealt a bad hand. He was the dealer, and he rigged the deck against Armenia.

I just don’t get the idea of crying when Armenia is having a claim over the legal territory of Azerbaijan. The legal territory which is supported by UN Security Council.
That territory never belonged to Azerbaijan. It is now occupied.
As if Azerbaijan doesn't have any claims over the Armenian sovereign territory. They got Karabakh back, what else should they want?
