- Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to unroot your Samsung Galaxy Note 8 w/ stock firmware in case you mess up rooting, end up in a bootloop, or want to update a rooted Note 8. I did not succeed to root the second time after first root attempt fail. I got the error 'Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed'. During the first attempt my device unexpectedly rebooted and bricked.

followed your instructions step by step but somehow after i selected BL,AP,CP and hit start, these lines in odin only go till sboot.bin.lz4 and there is no green bar or words like system,recovery on my odin-window. am i missing something?

I have just rooted my galaxy note8 and after rooting i noticed the titanium app started to give trouble and when i restarted my phone thinking it would solve the problem the phone would not boot. All i am seeing right now on the screen is a circle with a lightning bolt sign in the centre and some sort of small red writing on the top of the screen. i have tried several times to reboot the phone but to no success. No, once you flash TWRP, you cannot get OTA, not sure on warranty with Huawei phones though.

You probably won't answer this but you're the only one I think might be able to help me. I've looked all over the internet and can't find any help. I rooted my note 8 fine, but stupidly updated it and lost root. I re-rooted it and must have accidentally added a file that's not supposed to be there, as I'm stuck in a bootloop and get the error about "only official released binaries are allowed". I've tried to go back to the stock firmware but Odin ALWAYS fails. I've changed the cords and ports and everything. I can't boot into recovery because I can't turn the phone off. I let the battery die but even that didn't help. I have an SM-N950F. Is there any way you can please help me?

The unroot method is for all variants. However for rerooting is only for exynos.

You gotta flash them before rebooting otherwise u gotta wipe data and start over.

I had the same problem. This is because you are trying to flash an old firmware which will cause a downgrade of sboot.bin. Downgrades are not supported on the note8 hence this causes and error.
So to fix this problem you have to download a version of the firmware newer than the one installed in your device. The best way to do this is to use a software called samfirm which can be used to download the latest version of a samsung firmware at very fast speed.
Note: if you internet connection is not steady doing the download you file will be deleted at the end of the download because of CRC32 mismatch . so either you use a steady connection or uncheck CRC32 check.
I rooted my note 8 and unrooted it using your method ....but secure folder and sam health not working after unrooting.....is there a fix for this after unrooting...???

Very nice! I use Samsung pay a lot and here in my country just a few stores supports NFC payment, unfortunately. MST can be used anywhere in here, unfortunately only samsung pay has it ... I think that's the only reason I still don't root ☹
