    Plácido Domingo, perhaps the best Tenor ever, directing the Berliner Philarmoniker, ESPAÑA de Chabrier. This peace I first listened in concert in the Lincoln Memorial in Washington in 1975. I was with my most dearest friend, David ALVINS, deceased of the Covid19 in NYC on March 2020; for ever I will associate ESPAÑA with David, who sure is smiling at me from Heaven. God Bless you my darling.

    There was a craze for all things Spanish in France in the mid-19th century, as exemplified by the popularity of Prosper Mérimée's novella "Carmen," which later was turned into the opera by Bizet (1875). This wonderful, lively work by Chabrier is a part of that craze.

    Chabrier, great French composer, also has an Habanera which is simply delight.
    The first time I went to Washington D.C. it was being played in front of the Lincol Memorial on a sunday sunny winter morning. I shall never forget that magic moment

      I agree that Chabrier's Habanera is simply a delight, and have played the solo piano version. This piece, Espana, which I'm hearing for the first time is also elegant, charming and delightful

    Great composition by Chabrier. Emil Waldteufel used it as a basis for the waltz Espana.

    • @angelmendez6638
      @angelmendez6638 11 месяцев назад

      No es un vals, es una jota, el acento melódico siempre cae al tercer tiempo, la armonía es básicamente tónica y dominante.
      Las partes lentas (coplas) suelen ser cantadas.

    • @MrBertillo

      La obra original es una rapsodia para orquesta y está compuesta por Chabrier en 1883, pero partes de ella aparecen en el vals de Waldteufel que también se llama España y es de 1886.

    Pas mal mais pas tout à fait aussi réussi que la version de Beecham. Le philhamonique de Berlin est un peu raide dans cette musique qui doit être jouée humour et légèreté mais aussi un allant et une énergie qui ne faiblit jamais. ici, il y a quelques baisses de régime.

    Por favor Srs.: ESPAÑA se escribe con "Ñ" y no con "n", lo mínimo que se les puede pedir es que respeten la gramática de todas las lenguas, en este caso la nuestra: la LENGUA ESPAÑOLA. Muchas gracias. 🇪🇦😤😤🇪🇦

    1:11 "Tristan und Isolde de Richard Wagner, « qu'il entend en 1879 à Munich, le bouleverse ». En 1880, il choisit de se consacrer entièrement à la musique. « À partir de 1883, il passe chaque année plusieurs mois chez sa belle-mère, à La Membrolle, près de Tours, où il composera la majeure partie de son œuvre pendant les dix années qui lui restent à vivre ».
    3:12 ! Je connais bien le boulevard Richard Wagner...à pied jusqu'au C.Cial les Atlantes...5:38 ! :°
