I’d like to imagine the city as if Halifax had stayed low-rise etc, though I didn’t get to see as much of Saint John during the trip than I’d hope, and it seems to resemble Portland quite a bit
The lesser known Portland! 😂 Maine is one of the more interesting US states to me so I definitely enjoyed watching this one. The city definitely feels more like the Canadian maritime provinces than the US lol
Definitely felt a tiny bit more urban than the Atlantic Canada cities, but feels so much more like those cities than the large cities close to it eg. Boston and Providence. On foot, it really felt like an American Halifax exploring!

Portland, Maine is very reminiscent of Saint John, New Brunswick in layout, economy and the like, in my opinion.
