I love watching Bazaar and Shops decks WHEN a content creator I like is piloting them. They're my favorites. When "I" am against them, I hope they mulligan to three, which is enough for them not to concede, so I can watch the pain and suffering.
Never really considered looking into legacy at all because of the price, but listening to your thoughts as you recounted your NYC run made me deeply excited about watching the Oath of Druids mirror
0.6005 for the first hand then 7 looks with 0.557 chance is 0.00998 so basically 1% chance to not see a bazaar in all eight hands EDIT: I forgot to account for the fact that, presumably, the opponent also did not see any Serum Powders any more past the first one. That brings the odds down to 0.036% or 1 in 2736 games... poor opponent
There's something super exciting about identifying a weakness in the metagame, and then having it payoff big time. Congrats again on the big win. It's clear that you deserved it.
Dredge player might’ve had force of vigor green card in their game 3 hand where they dumped the bazaar which is their best attack vs an actual oath, but the show and tell punched a hole thought that plan
33:20 You could have traded a mox for their Dungeoneer before tinkering, and then taken the initiative next turn even withoug the Portal. Edit: Never mind, you adressed that in sideboarding
In round 5, I think it would be a mistake to name artifacts with Serra’s Emissary. Nettlecyst could still kill you thru pro-artifacts, as Phyrexian Germs are not artifacts.
I think I'm missing something about the Lotus Petal you draw after this Wasteland activation - couldn't your Mox have tapped for the last Show and Tell mana, relieving you of the need to draw a mana source?
So, people can sorta fall into the trap that, oh, it's a fetchland format, Revolt is free, which especially in Vintage is REALLY not true. There's 4 fetches in the deck. Sure, there's also black lotus and lotus petal, but cracking black lotus just for revolt.....
Silly questions..... is Atraxa really more productive to oath than Emrakul or Ulamog? Emrakul is so much harder to remove, annihilator ends games. Would it be different in multiplayer or 2HG? My meta is super removal heavy so card like Atraxa isn't gonna stay on the board.
There are builds of oath that use different monsters for different reasons. Atraxa pitches to force, is useful with flash, stabilizes vs creatures out of dredge/initiative/etc from lifelink, and looking at 10 cards should provide protection and/or a second Atraxa so you’re better against removal. None of the bigger monsters do any of that.
Why do vintage players scoop so quickly compared to people who play other formats? R3G1 the opponent had potential outs since they didnt know the force was in your hand.
Because when the opponent has found their win condition and you know you can't deal with it even with perfect topdeck draws, it's time to go to target next game. The only reason to play it out is if you think your opponent can show you more of their plays/deck contents/hidden tech you aren't already aware of to influence your sideboarding for the next game, but some decks (and players) just don't work with sideboards very well. One thing you have to remember, though, is that when you are playing people online, you never know what's going on where they're at. Emergencies can and do pop up sometimes.
@@ericfortin559 Except that I was specifically talking about an instance where the opponent had outs. Like I see this all the time watching vintage leagues.
Flex slot, as in flexible slot. When you build a deck, some cards are set in stone (you will always play ancestral recall, oath of druids, the moxes…), it other cards are powerful but can be substituted without changing the deck too much (thoughtsieze could become a force of negation for example, and the deck would play mostly the same). Those cards are flex slots because they’re the first one to change when you customize your deck.
Super excited for all the people complaining about the title being a spoiler
They should have seen the headlines by now
Bazaar mulling to oblivion is always the best feeling in magic. They are and will always be the enemy.

Nah it's Jewel now
So long as the cross hair is not hovering over Doomsday, I will remain happy.

I will never get tired of watching this deck crush.
We need Frank Karsten for the math on the mull to one+powder without finding a bazaar 😂

"Vamp for Oath, elk the priest" is my new favorite sentence
Always a great time watching you play this deck
Was a very fun journy to watch. Congrats again on the Lotus win!

Everyone has that deck they could watch Bosh play forever. This is mine. A beautiful deck in the hands of a master.
Dredge player might’ve had force of vigor green card in their game 3 hand where they dumped the bazaar which is their best attack vs an actual oath, but the show and tell punched a hole thought that plan
"Turn one fuckshit"
Thanks, im stealing that
Future/present Bosh n Roll, please tell Past Bosh n Roll this is the deck to bring to the NYSE Open.
glad youre such a nyse guy :)
I put Oath in one of my commander decks and it really does just win the game immediately most of the time it's very powerful.
Can’t believe the intro doesn’t have you holding up that beautiful trophy and lotus from NYSE yet smh
There’s a pre-recorded backlog. It’s already queued up for future vids
Nice!

The topdecks in the first two games were ridiculous... Opponents blanked you every game and you just ripped the nuts off the top 😮
This just in! Oath of druids is a good deck!
Round 5, Game 3 - Sometimes they just get a bicycle hand. Sit down, keep pedaling, don't crash into anything, win.
In round 3 with the tinker for portal line, you could have swapped your mox for the dungeoneer to get a clear board
Oh yep you found the line after lol, this is why I watch you ❤
In round 5, I think it would be a mistake to name artifacts with Serra’s Emissary. Nettlecyst could still kill you thru pro-artifacts, as Phyrexian Germs are not artifacts.
What happened at 27:43 ? How did they get two Wastelands?
One had been in play for several turns, the other was the last unknown card in hand.
I think I'm missing something about the Lotus Petal you draw after this Wasteland activation - couldn't your Mox have tapped for the last Show and Tell mana, relieving you of the need to draw a mana source?
What does cutdown kill that fatal push doesn’t out of curiosity ?
Killing Lurrus without revolt I this the big reason cut is played over push
Archon of emeria as well

Is that extra Black Lotus going to help finance black bordered Power?
This rules so much
Searching?!?! But you won!!
Gratzgratzgratz

What boost did Jewel Shops get from MH3?
Sink Into Stupor is the big one. They can also use Vexing Bauble effectively.
Is Sphinx of the Steel Wind better than Blightsteel Colossus?
Yes
VINTAAAAAAAAAAAAGE
I understood “Flexslot”. Does it mean flexibility or is it for the flexing? Great videos btw.
It means deck slots that are flexible, so you can fit different cards to fit the current meta
