These songs are just wild. To think this is fifty plus years ago when many of us were watching this. And now there are DVDs of the Groovie Goolies show! Pretty heady stuff, folks.
I just happened to think of this little jingle on sat morn cartoons when I was a yungun😊. Sit watching all morning with big bowl of honey comb, frankenberry or fruit loops. Would love to go back to those days....
We can still feel the final marks of psychedelism in the cartoon - not the lyrics, of course, but the keyboard and chorus, a glorious time. I grew up laughing and watching these cartoons, wonderful ones. Thanks for it !
I was 8 years old. We played outside all day, rode our bikes fearlessly, all over town and suburban South Jersey, and our moms never worried or questioned us (as long as we were back on time for lunch and dinner). I sometimes wonder, was it as truly ideal as I recall, but I know - it was. This song takes me right back there.
Awe, maaaaannn! This brings back such great memories of my childhood. Saturday morning cartoons back then, were the absolute best! Thanks, for uploading this!
",The Rolling Headstones" "The mummies and the puppies". "The Spirit of 76" and "Frankie, Drac and Wolfie" Those groovy goulie groups were something else
I was stationed at FT. BRAGG NC. it was Saturday morning in the day room. We had the TV on kids cartoon show. the Goolies. playing this song. I found myself singing it. It was played on the top 40 station often.
The green Gravestone, his name is Hudson Rock was my first cartoon crush. In 1978 when I was 11 everybody was into the Groovy goolies, except my sister who was really into Super Friends. But The Rolling Gravestones went the hardest and has the best songs and lyrics. I had a teacher who had a crush on Drac and I just had to tell her how much cooler Hudson Rock was. Hudson Rock was so much more of a badass.
Miss these cartoons & the times that went with it!........Glad I grew up as a kid during it!
ya me to best time to be a kid

1970 was a good year to be a kid in America. 😎

Hey I remember this from when I was 5 years old, back in 1971. Haven't seen it in more than 50 years. Thanks for posting this!
Maybe you can help me figure out what the heck that box is singing in "Cling Clang"

I remember this when I was 10 years old back in 1969 I just only wish you could go back in time and reliving the good old days
The voices of Frankie, Wolfie. Hauntleroy, Dr Jekyll and the Mummy were all voiced by Howard Morris aka Ernest T. Bass.
Wow, the things you learn... it's me, it's me, it's earnest t!!
Oddly, this looney tune charted two years later in 1971 by "Daddy Dewdrop" with few revisions
I loved Daddy Dewdrop's "un-edited" version, but the Saturday Morning-friendly take he did is pretty awesome too!
+Felix Brown This is the original version before CDaddy Dewdrop's hit. Is it STILL Dick Mondo on lead vocal. That's his real name
Issued on MGM's Sunflower Label.

I still sing this to myself when I'm at work. ha ha ha ha
Yea, I'm too old! This song comes to mind every now and again.
BOY this REALLY takes me back !!! I watched them every Sat. morning !!
came on sunday morning after tom & jerry here... the last time...
@@anotherhunkydory REALLY ???? I LOVED THIS SHOW !!!
A Rolling Head Stone gathers no boss
Now I know where the Boom Chicka Boom came from!? Groovie as fuck though! Like damn!
Hagatha! Filmation's answer to Warner Bros.' Witch Hazel.
Words fail me to describe how brilliant the GGs were to a kid ...altered realities and possibilities ..
The Rolling Head Stones!
They look kind of Flintstoney !!
Wow that's awesome!!
I wish the punk band Groovie Ghoulies would've covered this.
Incredible!!
Total Title "Chick-A-Boom (Don't Ya Jes' Love It)"
Don't do drugs kids ...
If that's the 'Girl in a Black Bikini' I would rather die!
Who did the actual singing?
Sounds like Peter Wolf from J Geils.
Richard Monda. Aka Daddy Dewdrop, who released a second version of the song the following year.
@@rwlwrestlingleague2975 With a Different Group.
This was great! How the hell did we get stuck with garbage like Beavis and Butthead?🤮
Only the chorus is any good. And that was absolutely not a black bikini. 😆
Would you want to see Hazel in a real bikini?
nope
Love it
