FYI this bike is pretty easy to assemble out of the box if you want to avoid build fees and removing reflectors. All I had to do with mine is put the stem on the steer tube and put the front wheel on. Rims come tubeless ready with the strips installed and came with the tubeless presta valves. No dork disc with mine since I got the singlespeed version. This bike is a great deal if you’re looking for a solid bikepack-ready mtb with modern geometry.
This one was already assembled and on the floor. Even with all that I still got it for an amazing deal. Reflectors and dork discs are easy enough to take off. Anything frame in this price range and bought out of a shop, pre-assembled. It's a 99% chance these things will come already on the bike. All good though. Not my first rodeo taking that stuff off, haha 😆
I absolutely love my UnitX, but I have to admit that it is much more enjoyable to ride since I put an un-fancy 100mm air sprung Manitou Markor fork on it. I use both MTB and gravel wheelsets (and several more tire sizes) regularly on it. It is joy to ride. Enjoy!
Thanks! It is great bike! One of the main reasons I bought this bike was for it all-rounder, versatility. It will likyl take many forms in tits life. I am currently enjying the rigid fork, and have plans to utilize the mounts, come spring. I can see myself easily putting on a pair of 100-120mm fork on, at some point.
Thanks! It was on my short list for a few years now. After a few rides i can saybim not disappointed with the bike. If your husband can get his leg over one for a test ride. Take it. Might just find what he is looking for.
Don't know where I heard that term, just known I've been calling them that since I was a kid, haha. From what I understand. They are to prevent over shifting of the top cog, which can cause damage to your derailleur. They are kind of a mute point on modern, clutch, derailleur systems IMO. But not a huge issue to remove.
What is your hight, if i may ask? Looking for a correct size for 6 ft body. These new progressive geo Units are almost comically long, ride like a bus...
I am 6'4" and am on an XL frame. I found the reach with the 60mm stem a bit long, and washy feeling. I shortened the stem by 10mm and dropped the rise to 0° Now it feels more attuned t9 what I run in other bikes.
@@JustJake77 I also got a great discount deal on the year before model, the blue one, i was eyeing the unit x models and waiting for a discount, so when it came i pulled the trigger. It is a nice and versatile bike, hope you enjoy yours..
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it. My own safety? Personal safety is subjective, at best. I have over 40 years of experience on bikes. My level of comfort VS safety will likely be far more relaxed than others. Simply due to the number of hours in the week I spend riding. If you watch other videos of mine, you will see I ride some fairly advanced and technical riding. What laws am I disrespecting? There is no law in the BC traffic code, in relation to having reflectors and dork disc's attached to a bike. They are only required by law to be on the bike when sold in store. This bike is primarily from riding off-road, and here, traffic laws don't apply to off-road/logging/gravel haul roads. They are private. Traffic laws don't apply out there.
Sweet looking bike man !

Check out the Tumbleweed Persuader handlebars- perfect rise and back sweep options. Definitely look at em….
The raw ones look slick as!
Great looking bike. Congrats!
Thank you!
Nice bike looks like a great ride and a fun bike to have. My husband is looking for an all-rounder and this is one of the bikes on his list.

Its a great bike! You can put a 120 SID on it and it becomes a good little trail bike!
Agreed!
"Dork disc", lmao! Never heard that one before. Isn't that for protecting your freewheel/casette from dirt etc.?

Pie plate is another one we use in the bike shops.

Well, below the sticker price. Too good to pass up.

Nice! Yes I am enjoying this frame. Definitely checks many boxes, for me. Glad you're enjoying yours!
Rear hub very loud
Loud hubs are a good thing when living in a rual area. Plenty of wildlife encounters here.
With such disrespect for your own safety and the laws of your country, you have nothing to bring to the table for me.
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it.
