I watched Scot's original video first, then Harry Nardi's and yours. I have never known reviewers review other reviewers before. It was like mates protecting their own. Scot's review, even if you disagree with his points, was him honestly giving his opinion, and this is his right. He did not need to follow this up with so-called humorous videos giving 'honest trailers ' mocking the creator, which I have previously felt were a form of bullying.
Why can't Scott have his honest opinion? Does a reviewer have to like everything. Can Scott's facts be different from your facts? Let us reviewers make our choice. I can listen to Scott's review and listen to your review and make my own choice. Harry attacked Scott. I don't know anyone. Scott defended himself. When someone attacks me, I attack back. As someone who has been in magic professionally, and as an amateur, for over 50 years. An inventor, handmade manufacturer, lecturer, and magic teacher in my life, thank you for all that you do, and have done for magic. No one is perfect, and no one will like every effect out there. Never lose track of who you are. It is most important that people are honest with themselves, about themselves. And if we are, and are doing our best to live honorably, then don't let other's opinions of you become more important than what you know in your heart to be true. Otherwise, to use a metaphor, they will be driving your bus, not you. You will have given them too much power over your own emotions. Whatever you do with your channels, I appreciate all you have done, and have learned much from, and through you. Thank you, Craig. Stay true to yourself. All you do for the community is amazing and very much appreciated by most. Craig, you are a brilliant magician and creator. You should be at the vanguard of bringing magic and your inspirational work to many not at the vanguard of being responsible for deconstructing and feeling obliged to right the wrongs of what is the negative side of magic or the community. You don’t need to rant or be an apologist, rise above it and be a role model and evangelist for everything positive. Your balanced reviews are welcome but you don’t have to be the defender of other magicians or their tricks, the decent members of our community can part police this. I watch you one minute and am inspired by your brilliance and to be honest I then watch other videos as you rant and swear and wonder why you need to really do them. You declined to do any more rants a while ago and yet you’ve allowed yourself to sink back to these against all that you held true to not doing them. I’d just invite you to step back, reflect and go back to being the inspiration to many of us that you are not a ranting Mr Angry, for which you may have to apologise (even if you were correct in principle) BTW, I despise the trolls and vile people that post, but you are a better man for ignoring and rising above it, life is just too short….and if your quality of life (or your family’s) is affected by it, then forget social media.
It's not always like this, my advice is to get some books and old L&L DVDs and mostly ignore the forums and new tricks. Once you figure out what you like you'll find that only a few things coming out each year will actually interest you. Good luck
I don't have "The Fall" , but it appears to be an incredible Effect ... I would certainly LEARN it and then USE it. The story of the Magician doing "Card Thru Glass" is the perfect set-up for the Effect and justifies the piece of plastic. I have always loved the Audience responses to Visual type penetration Effects and this would absolutely be the one to do in a Close-up Demonstration. Since I first began back in the '70s, my 'go-to' has been Tarbell's "Card Thru Handkerchief" , but it is more of a Parlor or Stage Effect. "The Fall" looks like a real 'Worker" to me ! 👍
Having never used the Fall, I can’t speak on its merits. I did watch the review and it did strike me as being personally upset in a way that surprised me. The only thing I believe about your response video is that the anger and cursing doesn’t help the situation. Also, I think that it brought attention to his review and therefore allowed more people to watch it. You are clearly a passionate person, and you have people in the magic community that you like. I’m sure you have people you dislike. I find your honestly about your friendships to be a good thing. If you were only a magic reviewer, I guess that could be an issue. But you are a creater and a working professional, so of course you are going to know and be friends with people in the industry. It’s silly to be upset about that.
I thought this was a pretty harsh review by Scott. However the part that I found absolutely disgusting, was where Scot said at the 28:30 minute mark, “Harry, you stick to staying in a shop and demming stuff for magicians, and I’ll stick to reviewing stuff, yeah? Clearly, Harry, you don’t know anything about performing magic in the real world.” This is clearly an insult that was not necessary. It blatantly belittles Harry as not being good enough to do anything creative, and tells him, in no uncertain terms, that he should stay within his lowly social class not attempt to rise above it. The sheer arrogance of this insult, does not foster good relations within the magic community and begs the question, by what authority do you, Scot, claim the right to disparage Harry’s character? And, Scot, by what yardstick do you measure yourself, that you indirectly claim that you DO know something about performing magic in the real world? You may not like trick nor find it practical, but underlining your review with an insult shows you up as having a lack of manners and grace. Be an adult and apologise.

There is a reason why so many come to you. People are just too quick to judge. I think it comes from a place of jealousy most of the time. You say it how it is and call yourself out when your wrong. Non of these trolls will ever do that. I love what you do. You helped reignited my passion magic, For example I allowed my MC apprenticeship to expire due to some comments made by existing members say I didn’t belong. But now thanks to you I’m now working back towards that, starting with my local club circle (Sheffield) I’m auditioning tomorrow to join, next goal by summer will be to pay the rejoin fee and so my MC exam :) and it thanks to people like you Craig! I do think not showing full performances in the trailer is a bit pointless. As soon the trick is available someone will buy it and post a full (sometimes bad) performances on youtube that magicians watch anyway. At least if its in the trailer the creator can make sure it looks as good as possible.
Craig, as a magic hobbyist, while I may not agree with ALL of your opinions (that's just me), I can honestly say that I absolutely respect EVERYTHING you do and share with the magic community. You're a real working magician and a quality creator, and I feel your videos are always honest and trustworthy. Keep it up! Also, it's amazing the amount of work you do, helping other magicians in multiple ways. So just know there are more people who appreciate what you do than those who try to tear you down.

A rant out is better than a rant bottled up. For me we need more honest revues If I was still working and looking for a new idea to perform I would seek out as many revues as time would allow me long before purchasing because not all effects fit into my style of performing when I was. Everybody has a tone of speech that cannot always come across as constructive mine been one of them. Your Channel as is your young son's filled with honest revues a plus for me. I object to you tube magician performers who promote and idea/effect that is not there own and the originator does not get credited nor any money made through sales. That's my rant. ''Stay constant'

I think everyone has screwed up on this topic. Scott gave a shit review of a product I don't think he quite gave enough attention to. However as you said, people are free to post a video of whatever they want. It's unfortunate that thousands of people have NOW seen his review and believe him. It's the old David vs Goliath thing. Everyone is picking on him so he must be right. The Alakazam review of his review was poorly thought out. Nardi continually says he was "moaning" about this or that. Of course Scott now feels "attacked", especially with his new found "fame". At the end of the day, Scott can say whatever he wants. Again a very sad drawback of social media. NO ONE can be held truly accountable in this online world we've all created. The magic community IS cliquey.. if that's even a word..lol.. you have Ramsay's crew, Dancy's crew, Flom's crew etc. I'm waiting for a magic drive by with sponge balls!!!! Craig, remember that there are more people that like you than people that dont. Yes, you are opinionated, loud and so on. This is a problem for people who cant see you beyond your skin. It is very clear to me that you care about what you do, and that you are a good person. I can see the emotion in your eyes during this video, especially near the end. You are no narcissist, it is clear. You dont get 15k subscribers by being a disliked person among a small niche group of people. 15k followers in a channel that is solely creating content for magicians is a lot of subscribers, and you dont get that amount of subscribers if the majority of people in the magic community dislike you. People who hate things or dislike something tend to talk about it a lot more. It is just human nature, we like to voice our opinion about the things we dont like, more than the things we like. So this is why it seems like there are so many haters, because the haters are sure to tell you they dont like you, but the large majority of people who dont hate you are more likely to just not say anything. Its like when something you dont like happens to you during your day, you tell that to your wife or friend or girlfriend, you dont mention all the things that went right. This is what haters do.

Magic clique? I don't know about that. I am a nobody in magic, a keen amateur, a hobbyist, yet to 'properly' perform in the real world. Yet the likes of Peter Nardi, Andy Smith, Wayne Goodman, Paul Gordon and John Carey have all interacted with me, given me advice and encouragement, and made me feel a very welcome member of the magic community - and I am very most definitely not part of any kind of clique.
Without wading into the whole saga and whether every syllable he said was 100% true to the nth degree, he was right about not buying it. Sorry but there is not a chance in the world a worker would actually have this in their repertoire. It's a moment of mystery but so awkward to perform and just feels grubby and amateurish. This is an absolute drawer filler. (An aside, I'm curious what's with the becawwz?)
Maybe consider turning off comments for every video except the Q&A ones. Can't we all just get along? None of this really matters, its just silly magic tricks, a storm in a teacup.

Like me you are a very outspoken guy and you don't mind telling the truth and exposing people who try to rip us off. In all the videos that I have watched yes there have been times when I stopped and thought "wow thats a bit OTT" but I have never heard you be unfair, biased or untruthful in your reviews and videos. You say in this video that you know that you are a controversial character and so am I in many ways. This always brings people out of the woodwork who enjoy slagging us off and shouting their face off just for the pleasure of winding us up. I have been hurt and emotionally destroyed by people like this and it has restricted me in so many ways. Then someone gave me the answer to the problem - IGNORE THEM. They HATE being ignored. They thrive off our responses and our constant attempts to justify what we do and why we do it. Every single time we respond to these halfwits with no life, we feed them and drive them on to do it again and again and again. We have to preserve our own mental health so why would we allow people like this to destroy us? OK if some people don't like you, so what? You have to ask why they keep watching your videos if you are such a knob? The reason is because they want to get material that they can use to wind you up again. I have a new mentalism trick coming out at Blackpool, it will be my first release and I am dreading the dumb stupid comments from people who have never released anything and been through the process of development and polishing a trick ready to sell. Secondly I have always and still do hold Angelo Carbone in the highest order because he knows he is a great creator and not a performer. He is a good friend and knows where he is in magic. It must be VERY difficult to deal with trolls & people who find it so necessary to insult and slander your efforts. My only advise is to treat them with the contempt they deserve and carry on. The magic community needs you !!!!!
Craig, you are a brilliant magician and creator. You should be at the vanguard of bringing magic and your inspirational work to many not at the vanguard of being responsible for deconstructing and feeling obliged to right the wrongs of what is the negative side of magic or the community. You don’t need to rant or be an apologist, rise above it and be a role model and evangelist for everything positive. Your balanced reviews are welcome but you don’t have to be the defender of other magicians or their tricks, the decent members of our community can part police this. I watch you one minute and am inspired by your brilliance and to be honest I then watch other videos as you rant and swear and wonder why you need to really do them. You declined to do any more rants a while ago and yet you’ve allowed yourself to sink back to these against all that you held true to not doing them. I’d just invite you to step back, reflect and go back to being the inspiration to many of us that you are not a ranting Mr Angry, for which you may have to apologise (even if you were correct in principle) BTW, I despise the trolls and vile people that post, but you are a better man for ignoring and rising above it, life is just too short….and if your quality of life (or your family’s) is affected by it, then forget social media.

It's not always like this, my advice is to get some books and old L&L DVDs and mostly ignore the forums and new tricks. Once you figure out what you like you'll find that only a few things coming out each year will actually interest you. Good luck

I don't have "The Fall" , but it appears to be an incredible Effect ... I would certainly LEARN it and then USE it. The story of the Magician doing "Card Thru Glass" is the perfect set-up for the Effect and justifies the piece of plastic. I have always loved the Audience responses to Visual type penetration Effects and this would absolutely be the one to do in a Close-up Demonstration. Since I first began back in the '70s, my 'go-to' has been Tarbell's "Card Thru Handkerchief" , but it is more of a Parlor or Stage Effect.
"The Fall" looks like a real 'Worker" to me ! 👍
Having never used the Fall, I can’t speak on its merits. I did watch the review and it did strike me as being personally upset in a way that surprised me. The only thing I believe about your response video is that the anger and cursing doesn’t help the situation. Also, I think that it brought attention to his review and therefore allowed more people to watch it.
You are clearly a passionate person, and you have people in the magic community that you like. I’m sure you have people you dislike. I find your honestly about your friendships to be a good thing. If you were only a magic reviewer, I guess that could be an issue. But you are a creater and a working professional, so of course you are going to know and be friends with people in the industry. It’s silly to be upset about that.
I thought this was a pretty harsh review by Scott. However the part that I found absolutely disgusting, was where Scot said at the 28:30 minute mark, “Harry, you stick to staying in a shop and demming stuff for magicians, and I’ll stick to reviewing stuff, yeah? Clearly, Harry, you don’t know anything about performing magic in the real world.”
This is clearly an insult that was not necessary. It blatantly belittles Harry as not being good enough to do anything creative, and tells him, in no uncertain terms, that he should stay within his lowly social class not attempt to rise above it.
The sheer arrogance of this insult, does not foster good relations within the magic community and begs the question, by what authority do you, Scot, claim the right to disparage Harry’s character? And, Scot, by what yardstick do you measure yourself, that you indirectly claim that you DO know something about performing magic in the real world? You may not like trick nor find it practical, but underlining your review with an insult shows you up as having a lack of manners and grace. Be an adult and apologise.

There is a reason why so many come to you. People are just too quick to judge. I think it comes from a place of jealousy most of the time. You say it how it is and call yourself out when your wrong. Non of these trolls will ever do that. I love what you do. You helped reignited my passion magic, For example I allowed my MC apprenticeship to expire due to some comments made by existing members say I didn’t belong. But now thanks to you I’m now working back towards that, starting with my local club circle (Sheffield) I’m auditioning tomorrow to join, next goal by summer will be to pay the rejoin fee and so my MC exam :) and it thanks to people like you Craig! I do think not showing full performances in the trailer is a bit pointless. As soon the trick is available someone will buy it and post a full (sometimes bad) performances on youtube that magicians watch anyway. At least if its in the trailer the creator can make sure it looks as good as possible.

Craig, as a magic hobbyist, while I may not agree with ALL of your opinions (that's just me), I can honestly say that I absolutely respect EVERYTHING you do and share with the magic community. You're a real working magician and a quality creator, and I feel your videos are always honest and trustworthy. Keep it up! Also, it's amazing the amount of work you do, helping other magicians in multiple ways. So just know there are more people who appreciate what you do than those who try to tear you down.

A rant out is better than a rant bottled up. For me we need more honest revues If I was still working and looking for a new idea to perform I would seek out as many revues as time would allow me long before purchasing because not all effects fit into my style of performing when I was. Everybody has a tone of speech that cannot always come across as constructive mine been one of them. Your Channel as is your young son's filled with honest revues a plus for me. I object to you tube magician performers who promote and idea/effect that is not there own and the originator does not get credited nor any money made through sales. That's my rant. ''Stay constant'

I think everyone has screwed up on this topic. Scott gave a shit review of a product I don't think he quite gave enough attention to. However as you said, people are free to post a video of whatever they want. It's unfortunate that thousands of people have NOW seen his review and believe him. It's the old David vs Goliath thing. Everyone is picking on him so he must be right. The Alakazam review of his review was poorly thought out. Nardi continually says he was "moaning" about this or that. Of course Scott now feels "attacked", especially with his new found "fame". At the end of the day, Scott can say whatever he wants. Again a very sad drawback of social media. NO ONE can be held truly accountable in this online world we've all created.
The magic community IS cliquey.. if that's even a word..lol.. you have Ramsay's crew, Dancy's crew, Flom's crew etc. I'm waiting for a magic drive by with sponge balls!!!!

Craig, remember that there are more people that like you than people that dont. Yes, you are opinionated, loud and so on. This is a problem for people who cant see you beyond your skin. It is very clear to me that you care about what you do, and that you are a good person. I can see the emotion in your eyes during this video, especially near the end. You are no narcissist, it is clear. You dont get 15k subscribers by being a disliked person among a small niche group of people. 15k followers in a channel that is solely creating content for magicians is a lot of subscribers, and you dont get that amount of subscribers if the majority of people in the magic community dislike you. People who hate things or dislike something tend to talk about it a lot more. It is just human nature, we like to voice our opinion about the things we dont like, more than the things we like. So this is why it seems like there are so many haters, because the haters are sure to tell you they dont like you, but the large majority of people who dont hate you are more likely to just not say anything. Its like when something you dont like happens to you during your day, you tell that to your wife or friend or girlfriend, you dont mention all the things that went right. This is what haters do.
Be yourself and love the haters from a distance

Magic clique? I don't know about that. I am a nobody in magic, a keen amateur, a hobbyist, yet to 'properly' perform in the real world. Yet the likes of Peter Nardi, Andy Smith, Wayne Goodman, Paul Gordon and John Carey have all interacted with me, given me advice and encouragement, and made me feel a very welcome member of the magic community - and I am very most definitely not part of any kind of clique.
Without wading into the whole saga and whether every syllable he said was 100% true to the nth degree, he was right about not buying it. Sorry but there is not a chance in the world a worker would actually have this in their repertoire. It's a moment of mystery but so awkward to perform and just feels grubby and amateurish. This is an absolute drawer filler.

This is the sort of childish, "tit-for-tat", self-justifying nonsense - from all sides - that delayed my return to magic.
Craig my friend please read what I am going to say carefully and make yourself a life changing promise not to let these people wind you up. Like me you are a very outspoken guy and you don't mind telling the truth and exposing people who try to rip us off. In all the videos that I have watched yes there have been times when I stopped and thought "wow thats a bit OTT" but I have never heard you be unfair, biased or untruthful in your reviews and videos. You say in this video that you know that you are a controversial character and so am I in many ways. This always brings people out of the woodwork who enjoy slagging us off and shouting their face off just for the pleasure of winding us up. I have been hurt and emotionally destroyed by people like this and it has restricted me in so many ways. Then someone gave me the answer to the problem - IGNORE THEM. They HATE being ignored. They thrive off our responses and our constant attempts to justify what we do and why we do it. Every single time we respond to these halfwits with no life, we feed them and drive them on to do it again and again and again. We have to preserve our own mental health so why would we allow people like this to destroy us? OK if some people don't like you, so what? You have to ask why they keep watching your videos if you are such a knob? The reason is because they want to get material that they can use to wind you up again. I have a new mentalism trick coming out at Blackpool, it will be my first release and I am dreading the dumb stupid comments from people who have never released anything and been through the process of development and polishing a trick ready to sell. But be assured if anyone dont like it then fair enough and if they attack me and slag me off - well they may as well talk to the wall. Because I DON'T CARE. Craig yes nearly everyone agrees with that. Firstly I have no idea who Andy Smith is? Secondly I have always and still do hold Angelo Carbone in the highest order because he knows he is a great creator and not a performer. He is a good friend and knows where he is in magic. Noel is a very good creator but he just bummed out on this one, it happens and I am entitled to and will say so. I disagree with you on this effect and the way it’s been dealt with. Whats the problem with that? He has been peddling this effect for years and it’s always been rubbish imo. We don’t really do that anymore. It’s very frustrating when you spend a lot of money on a trick that’s totally unworkable. We have spent thousands on magic which has been terrible
