You remind me of a young Bob Ross. Not as much in your style or technique as much as your attitude. It's refreshing. I love your work. You make me want to start painting again.
Great, thank you. Shows I’m right to be patient and not afraid to paint over and redo what I’m not happy with. Poly, poly. Or slowly, slowly and love every step along the way is the key.
I have stumbled across your video by accident and found the step by step very interesting. I am hoping to paint a camp-fire as well into my modest paintings. Granted, I am still learning the process of painting and by watching these step by step, I can gain valuable insight on fine tuning the steps. Thank you again. Angela from Australia.
Wow! I am really learning a lot from you. I was watching you painting the fire and than skipped a part of the video, and was surprised by how the whole environment suddenly was lightened up by the camp fire. You really catch the atmosphere. Wonderful! Thanks for sharing this so other people can learn from you.
Hi Chuck, I love the way you paint, your paintings are so realistic, so lifelike, I can picture myself inside them lol. Thank you for showing us how to paint fire and make it look alive. I know I'm going to be coming back to your Tutorials for illustrations as many times as I need to when I'm painting. Your colours and choice of landscapes, skies and water are awesome!!!
It's a great painting, very serene and peaceful looking, love it! But.....one thing missing from that fire are the little glowing embers that fly up as the fire burns. You have great talent with the brush.
That painting is gorgeous!! I'm so impressed!!! Thank you for the advice, I'm drawing on an big canvas tomorrow and I want something to do with flames so I can practice. So thank you for that!
I am learning to paint. I always did portraits like my Marilyn on my profile picture. But to paint like you do would be a dream! Your painting is BEAUTIFUL!!! Thanks so much for this wonderful tutorial. :D
Awesome, Man. Should I be trying to be as particular as you about detail on small canvases, Chuck? I'm finding it very hard to fit all the details in on my 8" x 8" canvas.
I love your work so much thanks for inspiring me, I've been wanting to paint fire ,this helps a lot. Do you always use the soft bodied paint and why? I have heavy bodied Goldens could add ore water or glazing medium?🎨🎨❤️👍🌈
Good to see I'm not the only one working with fingers :D Great work, love it! Ok, correcting myself ... just went thorugh your facebook and homepage and I'm absolutely stunned by your paintings. So damn beautiful ♥ Keep up the good work!
Several years ago I painted a fire on the beach. Wish I had seen this first :) You are never to old to learn, right ? Do you use any specific canvas? It looks like it might be really smooth? I love your work. Thanks
Thank you! I do use fine weave canvas. This is fredrix knickerbocker rolled canvas mounted to board. Yes you can repaint the fire! After years it should be just fine for anything over the top
Dude... I envie you. I'd give something for your skills. I consider myself a hobby landscape painter. Every time I watch your videos I have two feelings: the first is amazement and the second can be described as: Holy sh*t, I still got so much to learn. However, thank you very much for sharing your talent!
Do you have a facebook or Twitter account as well? Also, do you work with people one on one via video chat? I really admire your work and Im not a real good painter yet and I'd love to learn how to do some stuff but a little slower pace for my beginner self lol
Christen Chandler, If you follow Chuck Black on RUclips, you will learn a lot. He doesn't hold back. Another thing that I just put together, "today", is that if I have a question about a certain subject on painting then I can put it in RUclips's search box and put Chuck's name there then you will find that he's covered the subject in a different video but shorten you question as much as you can, like "How to fix a mistake - chuck black", or "struggling - chuck black" Or you can just ask the question and see where that takes you. But Chuck definitely teaches a lot and hits on so many subjects. I've only been learning how to paint for a year and a half and I find that I learn the most from Chuck Black (for composition ideas, certain artists issues and color mixing) John Magne Lisondra (especially for mixing colors, composition). And then for brush strokes, I think it's good to first learn how to do some decorative painting, too. It helps to get control of the brush. You can learn this from Pamela Groppe and RENJITHA ANOOP and maybe Donna Dewberry. These are my observations. We each have our own best ways of learning and this is a good start that you can try, if you want to. We certainly can not become a pro overnight but practice, practice practice. One book that I've got says to paint something everyday, even if it's just a small amount of practice, like a tree, clouds, water, foilage or , fire or just grass or fur etc... Keep in mind that your first tries will not look perfect but then you'll see improvements as you keep going. When I've got a lot of other things that I've got to do then I may do some decorative painting in my mixed media pages. I started dating everything so that I can see my improvements. Believe me, my first decorative strokes were horrible, to say the least. But I kept going and even in the same day, maybe on the same page, you can see that you're doing better. Now, things are starting to look like I'm painting some things that look like what I'm trying to paint. The brush strokes definitely help with painting other things, like landscapes, seascapes, animals fur, portraits and etc... I hope this helps. Good luck and Happy Painting.
This guy ( Chuck Black) is an amazing painter. Also his tutorials are not time lapsed and they’re free!! What an amazing person!!
You remind me of a young Bob Ross. Not as much in your style or technique as much as your attitude. It's refreshing. I love your work. You make me want to start painting again.

It's a great painting, very serene and peaceful looking, love it! But.....one thing missing from that fire are the little glowing embers that fly up as the fire burns. You have great talent with the brush.
You're a talented guy. I wish I had 1/10th of your talent. I've only just started painting and I've changed so much of the seascape in working on.
That painting is gorgeous!! I'm so impressed!!! Thank you for the advice, I'm drawing on an big canvas tomorrow and I want something to do with flames so I can practice. So thank you for that!
What an amazing picture. Beautiful.

so good man! thank you for the video
You're welcome, thank you!
Beautiful picture, but then you are a fantastic painter
Great artist
I love your work so much thanks for inspiring me, I've been wanting to paint fire ,this helps a lot. Do you always use the soft bodied paint and why? I have heavy bodied Goldens could add ore water or glazing medium?🎨🎨❤️👍🌈
You could, but it would not cover as well. The soft body acrylics have a higher pigment load when thinned down which is why I like them. Thank you!
I wanna live there!
Good to see I'm not the only one working with fingers :D Great work, love it! Ok, correcting myself ... just went thorugh your facebook and homepage and I'm absolutely stunned by your paintings. So damn beautiful ♥ Keep up the good work!
Hah, great!! Thank you so much!

Inspired from Flathead Lake, Montana
Chuck, is that saran plastic wrap that's taped to a palette?
Several years ago I painted a fire on the beach. Wish I had seen this first :) You are never to old to learn, right ?
Do you use any specific canvas? It looks like it might be really smooth? I love your work.
Thanks
If I went back to that painting( I think is used spray varnish on it) can I repaint the fire? Yours is so much better
Thank you! I do use fine weave canvas. This is fredrix knickerbocker rolled canvas mounted to board. Yes you can repaint the fire! After years it should be just fine for anything over the top
sir,i want to paint nature like u from whence are u?tell me sir,i like your amazing n most beautiful paintings.
Do you paint on panel? I have recently started painting on MDF board and I really like it.

It wouldn't let me sign up. I love your videos
If it says too many requests then you might already be signed up! :)
Do you have a facebook or Twitter account as well? Also, do you work with people one on one via video chat? I really admire your work and Im not a real good painter yet and I'd love to learn how to do some stuff but a little slower pace for my beginner self lol
AH! I just saw your facebook info. I didn't click the "more" button. LOL

Poxa queria saber q tinta é essa🤔
How long does a painting take you to finish?
at least 50 hours most of the time. Thanks Mindy
Wow that makes me feel better.
Glad to know its normal to feel like the painting is never truly “done” 🤣
wow! youtube added a save feature. but $10.00 a month is alittle to much right now, too bad.
is this acrylics or oils
Acrylic :)
Thanks much iv got to start on a commission peace for a firefighter. I needed tips on flames 👍🏻 much appreciated
I like this video, but I think the fire needs smoke
Please put a video which is complete and not fast forward. It will be good to know and learn.
Thank you for the great step-by-step. I think it'll help me a lot with where I'm stuck on my painting.
IG @sammyfrankeart
Paint the knockers on that chick?
