Bang on, 100%. It is not about the food. And if having no tequila is a huge issue for someone, do not go! Last March when we were in Cayo Coco, 90% of the time we were only drinking bottled water to keep hydrated, not liquor. You are so right, Cuba is not for everyone. Great video, Mike!
We stayed there in late March. The la Carte restaurants were good. The buffet was lacking a lot of food items. The staff was excellent from the lobby bar to th e beach. The beach was beautiful. We stayed in one of the units. It's a very easy resort to navigate. We both got really sick . We thought we had a gastro issue from something we ate. Our maid was excellent, she made sure we had plenty of water and clean room. When we got back home we tested positive for Covid. We figured out we likely contacted covid a few days before either shopping at Costco or the airport. Just wanted to let people know Covid is still affecting people so be cautious. Thanks for your videos you bring back memories of resorts we been to over the years. Also places we want to stay. We traveled the Caribbean and always had more fun in Cuba. Keep your videos coming. One thing you forgot the feeding of the shark at this resort. Henry
Another great video, your honesty about Cuba is so refreshing, you and Jenny are amazing at doing these. Videos, why would a shortage of some food or some drinks stop anyone from enjoying the beaches, the friendly people, the sun, the peace and lazy days of enjoying yourself. This resort looks really nice, Varadario has a bit of a young people party place, which keeps people like Lorraine and myself away, but it looks amazing, thanks mike for another informative video.🎉🎉🍺🍺🍸🍺🍸🍺🍸🍺🍻🍻🍺🍸🍸🍹🧉🧉🧉🧉🍷🍷🍷🍷

Hey Mike. Great walk and talk on the beach. Been watching your videos over the past year. For sure Varadero is the best bang for the buck. I was at Iberostar Selection Varadero back in January. It was a good time. No complaints. Food was decent throughout the week and as usual the beach is the best part! Watching you walk along that beach is making me miss it a lot. I think I'll be coming back. Been researching places. I'm thinking of Melia Las Americas. Not sure if you've been to that one but if you have let me know if you've made a video on that one!
True Mike, My experience is along the same lines as yours. Love CUBA, the people and the beaches. Great to get your validation. Sharing this video with my clients.
Love this! Expectations vary, people really should do a bit research before hitting up any destination. Cuba is special, I've travelled solo and it's the one place that makes me feel at peace. The calming waters, the beach walks, it's why I go and will continue to. The food? I really don't care, am not picky and figure stuff out on a day to day. As long as there's beer hahahah. But that's just me.
Problem with the Facebook pages is there are always the people who go to the same hotel that defend the staff and not the experience of the hotel stay.. they will have horrible conditions and still say it has the best staff and great hotel.
