- BATTLEMODE is DOOM Eternal’s all-new 2-v-1 multiplayer mode. Developed in-house at id Software, BATTLEMODE features all the fast, frenetic and ferocious combat that defines DOOM’s single player. Fight across six unique arenas, and with 5 playable demons. All future maps and playable demons will be free for all players.
Play as either a fully loaded DOOM Slayer, or on a team of two player-controlled demons. The Slayer and the demons’ objective may be the same - destroy the other side - but their playstyles are entirely different. Which side will reign victorious? Find out in BATTLEMODE when DOOM Eternal launches on November 22, 2019.

As a longtime Doom fanatic, this multiplayer mode really doesn't tickle my funny bone at all.
Say what you want about Doom 2016 MP, but the classic TDM and DM sessions were reminiscent of the golden age of arena shooters.
YES its not the best but it scratches that arena itch
I mean most of what they show like the cat and mouse never happends unless there demons then it's as simple as run away over and over and demons win 100 percent of the time

I REALLY hope they expand on this game mode with the DLC that comes out after release. This seems like a really awesome take on multiplayer, something that could even turn in the competitive e-sports scene if they play their cards right. My only concern is that it will become very repetitive after a few months without any innovation on the game mode itself. It would be cool to have a different mode with bigger teams and slightly bigger maps. Like maybe 3 demons against the Doom Slayer and one UAC Soldier/Body Guard. Or 5 demons against the Doom Slayer and two UAC soldiers. The UAC player/s could have similar traits as the doom slayer but have slightly less hp and do less damage, but they can call in reinforcements for a squad of AI controlled UAC soldiers as a special ability just like the demons can. And maybe another mode where there are objectives that have to be completed in order to win the game instead of just fighting eachother. Or you could have a sudden death mode where you only have one life and if you lose all your HP you start bleeding out and a team mate has to revive you before you bleed out and perma-die. There's a lot ID can do with this formula and I just really hope they push the limits to their fullest potential and don't play it so safe that it gets stale and ultimately squander such a unique multiplayer experience.

No kidding aside I guess it's a matter of where you get your gaming news & if you keep tabs on upcoming games, I heard of it when the first gameplay footage was released in 2018 but of course I look for it as I'm a huge doom fan with all Xbox doom games 100% completed (achievements not just gameplay) with the exception of this where I'm down to DLC's & multiplayer which was why I came here to see what it was like before trying, prefer to play with friends so wanted an idea of how many we would need to be to play as far as I can figure you can do it with as little as 3 but can't seem to find out if you can be more than that 🤷♂️
I honestly wished that they would have taken notes on the praises and complaints of DOOM 2016's PvP and tweaked/reworked it to make it more balanced and even more enjoyable.

This at least makes a lot more sense than Doom 2016's multiplayer 1) because there's only one Doomguy, so it doesn't make sense to have a bunch of them, and 2) Even if there were multiple Doomguys, Doomguy fights demons, not other Doomguys.
@@jareddemarzo8196 Let me introduce you to Doom 1, 2 and 3 MP. You were all Doomguys fighting other Doomguys.
And people absolutely loved the Multiplayer of Doom 1 and 2. Doom 3 MP, while respecting the classic arena shooter principles, was too cramped and verticality was virtually non-existent.

This is id who is developing this. Not Bethesda. Bethesda is publishing it only. id guys are awesome. They've promised free multiplayer content after launch with maps and more demons.
This game is indulged by fanservice and made by people who actually loved the franchise, unlike those ludicrous ones like Borderlands.

So, this mode I have experienced a hit or miss. Some matches are intense and fantastic, but others are slow and boring - it just depends on who you play against, but it is really fun.
not a fan of the mobile-game'ish UIX... scale the ui elements by around 50% and it'll look a lot better!
Also, pls add more darkness and shadows (simply lower the sun's angle?). The lighting in this video looks way too overlit imho.

@@archivehans Well, it's true it's not hard. However, it's not pick a gun and have fun game mode. It's definitely not easy to master and since demons require cooperation to win it may be way too frustration with randoms. My opinion is that it's going to be a fun game mode that everyone will forget after a month due to all these extra rules.
It's like other assymetrical multiplayer games like Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th. Compared to them, this is a little easier. Largely because the teams are only two demons. I doubt people will forget because assymetrical multiplayers and the faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar more complicated mobas and overwatch games are doing good.
If you want this to be mindless fun then it can be. It's not like you have extensive thinking to do on loadouts and team comps. Just pick a character and start playing.

All ya had to do was get rid of
-"free 5 kill demon runes and Gauss cannons" in DM and TDM.
-Lower weapon switch speed
-fix the walk/run animation speed BC doom 2016 looks like everyone is speed skating.
MP sucks. Bring back traditional MP. Doom always had DM and also introduced it. Don't scrap something that always was a part of Doom.

Just make more single player, get rid of the multiplayer. No one actually asked for it, its gimmicky and we already have other games that have already established competitive expectations ie csgo fortnight etc
We are getting 2 more single player campaign expansions. But Doom franchise is the pioneer of modern day FPS multiplayer so despite it being a single player focused game, multiplayer is still a big part.

This looks terrible. They should have just improved the play quality of arena pvp. Doom is the perfect game for a x,y,z axis combat erena pvp. Doom has the potential to be a balanced destiny pvp style game. I would drop d2 if doom became a good xyz axis, mostly gun and balanced traditional arena pvp with some abilities that charge slow like a super. The last dooms pvp movement and weapons behaved clunky (hit registration) especially on console. Smooth those things out and add in the new dash ability and some good maps and pvp could be a highlight. Bungie fucks pvp up more and more every season. They have proved their incompetence. This leaves a huge void that many are craving to have filled by another developer. Keep the ttk average around .75-.85 seconds. I have played doom from the beginning. The game could be so much more then a 1 and done. It could be a twitch phenomenon with good pvp and a weekend pvp event similar to trials. When I played rage 2 all I though was damn this could have been a real fun, fast and chaotic pvp game. The void is empty. Who's going to fill it?
this MP is bad. make a good mp, like doom 2016 or just remove it entirely. Literally i regret having to play battymode for a handfull of trophies. the thought of it just pisses me off, like it's just a way to scrub money for future dlc. FULL SP, or full BOTH but not this.

Fallout76 isn't made by id. It's made by Bethesda. id didn't make young blood either. id is a separate studio that Bethesda is only publishing for. Also, this isn't moba or battle royale. It's asymmetrical multiplayer like DbD and Friday the 13th. Also, I haven't heard anyone make complaint on the graphics except you. What exactly do you dislike about what you saw? Be clear instead of randomly mouthing off.
