Have had my Mkii for a little over a year now. Just added the Atomos Inferno for RAW recording & a 3rd onboard monitor! SmallHD FOCUS in front (lightweight) , CANON CLAM (shooter side Back 1/4 20’ , & the Shogun on a tension ballhead in the rear (cold shoe/back handle). This machine have made its money back and then some. My clients are never disappointed
I think Canon should make a MARK III with RAW, 4K444 and 4K@60P and perhaps a C500 Mark II with an 8K sensor which can downsample to 4K for those customers who want shaper images.
I adore my C300ii. Yes no 4K60 is a bummer but it has a lot of stuff I look for in a pro-camera absolutely nailed. Weirdly, I only wish there was a lower bitrate 4K codec for quick turn around/burn in work. 410mbps isn't always suitable for that kind of work, so you need to drop to 1080p - not ideal. The 8bit 4K codecs in the XC10/XC15 or C200 would be a great addition to this camera.
I was thinking the same thing - in HD you have 8, 10 and 12 bit options which is excellent choice - in 4K it's 10 bit 400mbps only which is great but sometimes you need a little less to get a little more record time. Lot's of people are saying how good the 8 bit 150mbps is in 4K (UHD I think) on the C200 - I've yet to try that but if it's as good as many people reckon it is then I think it would be suitable (possibly even ideal) for about 50% of my current work... The C300ii has other advantages though including multicam...
What is nice is that is sharp enough but not overly sharp. Just right feel and range of flexibility. Do prefer an external monitor but thats about the most I can scream about. It is small enough to get anywhere. Curious if this works with Ninja 5 with prores raw.. The only issue I've had with the proxy files is that Premiere requires some sort of reformatting to be able to recognize which ones are proxy and being able to link to the full res file. The auto focus is pretty seamless even face tracking ... never heard of the option to add a touch screen for focus.. no ones ever told me that.
It won't work with the Ninja 5 and Prores raw as the Ninja 5 can't get an SDI signal into it. Thats the same with all cameras that output raw, its all over SDI currently Yes, they enabled support for the C200's touchscreen in firmware. So if you buy that separately you can use it with a C300 II Carl
@@ProAVTV I thought it was understood that Atomos would be adding the SDI spigot using the small multipin port in the back? So you'd have to buy the C200 touch screen as hardware to turn on the firmware already available. Now the one thing many of us ask... why no 60 over 24 in 4K... processor power or just wanting us to buy the more expensive model.
It’s high enough quality, but not really designed for use with a crew, more for solo operators. Their C700 is basically a version of the C300II designed around working with a crew for a feature film or high end commercial. Carl
The non inclusion of an internal raw/ mezanine low compression or 4k 444 option on a camera that costs THIS much is very hard to understand. Black Magic gives us not only internal raw, but also 444 prores for $4000 less than this camera. With a $10000 camera, being stuck in h.264 is tough to swallow for me. Also I believe no 4k 60fps. Canon seems way behind industry standards.
Plus the canon dslr lineup has been capable of internal raw 1080p since the 5d3, but they didn’t do it. And if memory serves the 1dx didn’t do 4k60 either.
I've never been able to figure out why Canon cannot allow it record 60 over 24 in 4K... Processing power?? Hard to believe... maybe they just want you to buy the more expensive one. Frankly I do like the 60 fps on the GH5s I shoot along with the C300M2 so I have that frame rate covered... albeit not at 10 bit.
What seems to be giving you problems with grading C300ii footage? I've found it to be the exact opposite. Super easy to grade with incredible flexibility for an internal codec. I know a lot of other people who sing its praises also for the same reason.

Would the C300 MKII be a good goto camera in 2024 for talking head interviews, long events, or wedding ceremonies and receptions?!
Most definitely yes! 👍🏾
So would you say that the C200 mark 2 has better slow motion capabilities than the C300 Mark 2
Wait - they removed the mechanical ND filters on these versions?

How big are the file sizes when using 4k 410mbps? The host said they are small and manageable but higher than the TV requirments.
You get approx 42 minutes per 128gb cfast card. It’s a very good codec and cuts nicely.
@@philscanlan7321 what editing software do use for thst codec?

Благодарю. Очень интересно. То что доктор прописал. Что мне нужно было то и узнал. За описание к видео отдельное спасибо
Awesome perfect product for me. Going to buy. Thank you bro for the review
No problem glad it helped.

Thanks for the info, what's the resolution of cropped 120fps? 2k or HD?
Does this camara take Lexar Profesional 1066x CF 128GB cards?
pfff u wish!!

Why not high budget feature film

What lav mic/setup are you using? sounds great, wanna recreate
Its the Sennheiser AVX system with the MKE Essentials mic

The most used TV documentary camera and the most demanded camera in rental houses. The c300 is "the new" betacam LOL.
Gee…..at around $14,000-$16,000 Australian dollars…..this camera better dress to impress!!
what a type of lens recommended for a film shooting ?
preferably with glass lens. Good luck with your shoot.
How do you feel about the Canon c500 I know that's an old camera but what's your all over review on it
I would choose the C200 personally

Canon has being paying for this videos lately, but that doesn't change the fact that they sell outdated products extremely overpriced

Exactly, the canon lineup didn’t have any 4K 60 until the c200. And they don’t offer any industry standard mezzanine codecs on any of their cameras.
Plus the canon dslr lineup has been capable of internal raw 1080p since the 5d3, but they didn’t do it. And if memory serves the 1dx didn’t do 4k60 either.
They wanted to sell the 1dc instead that was thousands more expensive for the same exact camera.

to record HD 444 do you need to have external recorder?
nope

You can do 1080p or 2K 12 bit 4.4.4 internally

It’s a pain to grade the c300. Overpriced and outdated.

C300II has terrible CMOS smearing. This is purple strips all over the frame, when you are shooting high contrast situations.
