I’m old and since watching RUclips I have bought many, many brushes, and damn, except for powder blushes and bronzers and highlighters and Hourglass powders, I almost ALWAYS use my fingers. For foundation, eyeshadows, blending! In the old days I did own a few brushes, but mainly we used our fingers. Why are people grossed about using their fingers? Just wash your hands after! Plus, I am constantly touching/massaging my face. And I have great skin for 69.
I don't know why people in the comments would be insistent that fingers not be used on the face, but in any case, Bobbi Brown seems to usually suggest using fingers as the preferred application method for most of her products and that is mentioned in the instructions for this pencil. "Start by applying a touch of Eye Cream to hydrate and prep your under eyes. Allow it to fully absorb before applying The Neutralizer Pencil under your eyes, inner eye corner, and wherever else you are experiencing darkness. Use your finger to tap the product into your skin and cover evenly without tugging the product off. Once the darkness is covered, layer The Face Pencil directly over these spots, again tapping the product into the skin but this time blending into your natural skin tone for seamless skin tone."
Lisa, people lose their ever loving minds. I have never seen anything like it. It's a youtube phenom. I laugh about it all the time. It's why I always have those "I am being gentle on my eyes" caveat because that's part of it. "YOUR EYES!!! THOSE FINGERS AROUND YOUR EYES!!!" or "STOP touching your FACE!" It's SO strange.
Long before we had all the brushes, sponges, etc…we used our fingers and the foam pads that came in the eyeshadow pallets. Sometimes your fingers apply the product best. But it’s not the “RUclips” way, so it must be wrong and people feel the need to criticize. I prefer it sometimes especially as I get older ( I will,be 50 in a few months) because it makes the product melt in better.
(Unless you meticulously wash them every single day), There is much more bacteria on your foundation brush and/or sponge than there could ever be on your freshly washed and sanitized hands. The worst for me is that concealer doe foot that we apply to our under eyes and then stick back into the tube 🤢

I just received my jones road neutralizer pencil and face pencil in the mail and went looking for a video to learn how to use them correctly and found this video. Your video helped me understand how to apply it and you had great tips! I am in my mid 30s and completely clueless about makeup and rarely wear it (mom with a 2 year old!) and wanted to learn what products work well together and this video really helped me out! I loved your honest review and your carefree personality and how straightforward you are! I also really liked how the jones road pencils applied to my face and think I prefer it over a traditional liquid concealer. I’ve subscribed and am excited to watch more of your videos 😊

I pulled back in horror at that pink shade . I also really do not like the closeness of the shadows and the round shape of the compact. I agree with what you said about trying to use it for cheeks. I have used the Jones Road Face Pencils and do like them. I am intrigued by the corrector. It really covered and brightened. Yes, you probably don’t need to put anything over it. Again, I have to tell you how very pretty your hair is.🤩🤩🤩

I have lighter skin than yours but still have just been using the #6 neutralizer pencil (which is now called Light Peach) on my undereyes without any concealer or foundation over it. I think it looks perfectly fine. This has been one of my favorite makeup products of all, and so I think it's good that they are expanding the range and drawing attention to it by making it into a separate product.
YES! For those who don't like to moisturize first, it could be a problem but, for the rest of us, I agree. And yes, even tho now it's technically a neutralizer only, it's still perfect as a one and done concealer shade.
I like the color corrector from Jones Road ( and lip color) but I have an issue with Jones Road. They have a high limit to get free s/h. And once I wanted to order several items but one kit wasn’t available so I paid the s/h to get the other items. I received an email a couple of days later saying they had a glitch on their site and the kit , which was a limited addition, was wrongly marked sold out. I contacted them asking if they would waive the s/h since I just ordered several things. Never replied back. Actually emailed them twice. BTW, waited like a day or two and then kit sold out. Sorry for long message but I guess I’m wondering if it was just me or do others have a terrible experience with them, customer service?
Never be sorry for a long comment. First of all it’s not even long at all! Secondly, this is why we’re here as a community. I hope others read this and can let you know their experiences. That’s terrible. And it makes no sense. Why would their customer service not get back. Now I have to apologize for going on and on but ever since Covid lockdowns when customer service went into the home rather than on site, it’s just been no good anymore. I used to be able to call the brand on the telephone and talk to them and now you can’t do that anymore and reaching customer service is hit or miss which is really quite shocking. We would not have stood for this before 2020 honestly.

In this case I was excited to try the brand but with it being exclusively sold on their site and, to me anyway, to meet I think it was $75 for free s/h seems excessive. By the way, I’m the one who ordered the perfume, Shower, and I told you it basically smells like ivory soap. And it does but since I have it, I spritz it along with a vanilla perfume. I kinda of like it that way.

Jones Road is a brand that has peaked my interest, but I haven’t purchased anything from that line yet. I used one of Bobbi Brown’s foundations, highlighter and bronzer before, and I have always liked her aesthetics. I think her Jones Road brand would be great for someone with mature skin, which I have. Her new foundation sounds intriguing, as does the color corrector pencil. As far as the Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess palette, I think it’s a pass for me. I purchased the Bronze Goddess Lumiere palette last year, which featured violet shades on the bottom and warm shades on top, with a gold highlighter shade in the middle. I think it’s a much more flattering palette than this year’s version. I guess what throws me off is that bright pink shade thrown in with the warmer colors. They’ve had some pretty palettes in the past, so this one is a let down, IMO. It will be interesting to see what fragrance they’ll come out with in the Bronze Goddess label.
The EL palette is pretty as an eye palette, but you can’t just stick in a random pink in there and call it an eye AND face palette. How are you supposed to get a blush brush in that little pink pan? I’m guessing that was the main issue you noticed right away. Let’s see if I’m right… Yep!! Yay!! 🎉 You did make it work, though!! 💪🏻

I know they own Tom Ford, and i hope they do not ruin my Honeymoon palette, and they own/buy many beauty companies. I think that is how i want to think of them. I mean, Rebecca, if you are so many years in this business, why making a palette with quite nice colours, but so not practical to use? But that's just me. Jones Road, maybe! Did not wear to much makeup lately, tonight, or actually last night already again, Netherlands here, i used that palette from Kosas, you showed us, the Undressed! That shows how personal a makeup experience is. It's known here on RUclips, i believe, as boring, well, when leaving this so, so, shimmer for what it is: it's a perfect way to start over the canvas, or the eye primer, above crease, in crease, outer corner, light shade under brows, i just love countless brown shades to choose from, and end with some shimmer (have high pain level, but wanted to congratulate my sister and brother in law, GO for the Birthday's) so only 3 Suqqu shimmer shades blended, used a Victoria Beckham eye wear stick for under my eyes and define extra the outer corners, the VB what's it called, its late here, the darker brown anyway, you know, i'm sure, Chantecaille mascara cause every other ruins my lashes more, done. Was maybe 5 minutes, this eyelook, which is quick for me, tired, but i wanted to look more put together. Dark circles, used Gucci concealer again, but i finally listened to my friend and our friend GlamGirlChelsea, to put that Danessa Myricks loose powder under the eyes, i have since a short time the translucent and the pink, i mixed, matched, hubby said you look like 18. I said do you glasses darling? 🤣53 here. But he meant, or saw, men do not really have an opinion about makeup, he saw, i think that it looked more smooth, and dark circles more closed, or how to say more away, my English is going more and more bad, have to go to sleep. That Kosas palette, you did not find it boring by the way, is super! I hope every brand comes with 10 shades of brown, all matte, when they are good, i buy them! And than simply mix and match. Can i do that when i search between my Suqqu, Chanel etc quads, yes of course, but i was lazy/tired, and i want a back up of this fool proof cannot go wrong type of palette. I totally agree, that pallet is not for cheeks L O L! I am all about multitasking, but it needs to work with the tools and things of people are going to be using. Seems a little actually quite underwhelming. I definitely like the bronzing stuff, and I have been interested in using something like that mainly the Fenty body source, but I’m always afraid that it’s gonna get all over my clothes.😂 not in the market for any kind of color corrector, but that pencil does seem pretty nice. Is it drying?
But Stephanie you’re not wrong. It is the size. You can’t get your brushes into it even the eye brushes and the colors kind of move into one another. The highlight shade is right next to the black liner. So you’re right

I actually did order it yesterday but I am incredibly appreciative of you bringing it to my attention as, many times, I will miss release especially when it’s a luxury one like that because they release a different times in different countries. So I’m grateful that you thought of me. What did you think of the ordering process on that louboutin? I feel like it was impossible to scroll through the shades and figure out which one you should be as they didn’t progress in order and did not show it even on a model. I bought a light medium neutral and my fingers are firmly crossed. Let me know how yours goes

I have a very small face and since I am nearing 40 I had to switch to smaller brushes for more precision especially for blush placement so the size of those pans would not bother me. The depth and intensity on the other side is probably too much for my light complexion. Thank you for your review ☺️ It's awesome as always 😊
I love a resort collection. Never buy them but I love looking at them. The estee lauder bronze goddess range always catches my eye. I've never purchased though.apart from the perfume once.

Hi I feel color correctors make a huge difference..it started for me with the becca eye brightner..always is my first step prior to foundation and concealer... good to know it is not overly creamy.....

Confession time. I've been using the Maybelline age rewind brightner for years. I love it. It doubles as concealer and shadow base. (For my pasty behind anyway) I never think about getting a color corrector to try.
I bought mine early when only Belk had it and that was their descriptor. I now see what you're saying and I suppose by "face," on Belk, they meant highlight but really my point still stands and that main highlighter shade is butted up against the black liner shade EEK! Danger! haha. ❤️
I dont have particularly large fingers but there's no way i'd be able to pick up some of those shades without getting the others next to them on my hands 😂😂😂

I had to look up that palette because I was so confused! It says it’s an eye & face palette, but in the details it states that one shade can be used as a highlighter. I find that very misleading. And why is that pink in there? Definitely spend your money on something else!
You can’t get your face brushes in the teeny weeny pans, the color of one pan ends up in the other pans . . . I like lots of Jones Road products, but not the pencils. Too much tug. I’m a Pixi color corrector woman all the way.
Ok. I'm going to give a longer answer than you wanted. If I am going out and it has to be PERFECT, then that red/orange thing from Cover Fx is AMAZING. If I'm just running around being normal me, then it's the newest Tarte in apricot all the way, in the stick with the doe foot.
For which product? The pencil? Either one actually! But I used my Fusion Sonia G brushes for it. Bobbi Brown recommends fingers because of the warmth of the hand but youtube audiences do not like that haha.

But he meant, or saw, men do not really have an opinion about makeup, he saw, i think that it looked more smooth, and dark circles more closed, or how to say more away, my English is going more and more bad, have to go to sleep. That Kosas palette, you did not find it boring by the way, is super! I hope every brand comes with 10 shades of brown, all matte, when they are good, i buy them! And than simply mix and match. Can i do that when i search between my Suqqu, Chanel etc quads, yes of course, but i was lazy/tired, and i want a back up of this fool proof cannot go wrong type of palette. You know Risa, from Risa does makeup, she rated it more high than the one from Mario! Ok, this is to long, you can also delete it, gonna sleep, sending you lots of love!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤

I totally agree, that pallet is not for cheeks L O L! I am all about multitasking, but it needs to work with the tools and things of people are going to be using. Seems a little actually quite underwhelming. I definitely like the bronzing stuff, and I have been interested in using something like that mainly the Fenty body source, but I’m always afraid that it’s gonna get all over my clothes.😂 not in the market for any kind of color corrector, but that pencil does seem pretty nice. Is it drying?

I actually did order it yesterday but I am incredibly appreciative of you bringing it to my attention as, many times, I will miss release especially when it’s a luxury one like that because they release a different times in different countries. So I’m grateful that you thought of me. What did you think of the ordering process on that louboutin? I feel like it was impossible to scroll through the shades and figure out which one you should be as they didn’t progress in order and did not show it even on a model. I bought a light medium neutral and my fingers are firmly crossed. Let me know how yours goes
@NotFitforPrintBeauty I watched Charlotte holdcroft and she's usually 1 shade up and warm olive so I ordered the 2 neutral shades in that category light medium and medium neutral. It shipped in an hour after ordering and got to me in 2 days.

I have a very small face and since I am nearing 40 I had to switch to smaller brushes for more precision especially for blush placement so the size of those pans would not bother me. The depth and intensity on the other side is probably too much for my light complexion. Thank you for your review ☺️ It's awesome as always 😊

I love a resort collection. Never buy them but I love looking at them. The estee lauder bronze goddess range always catches my eye. I've never purchased though.apart from the perfume once.

Hi I feel color correctors make a huge difference..it started for me with the becca eye brightner..always is my first step prior to foundation and concealer... good to know it is not overly creamy.....

Confession time. I've been using the Maybelline age rewind brightner for years. I love it. It doubles as concealer and shadow base. (For my pasty behind anyway) I never think about getting a color corrector to try.

The website indicates a “9 shade eyeshadow and highlighter palette”. I don’t think it is meant to be used for blush.
I bought mine early when only Belk had it and that was their descriptor. I now see what you're saying and I suppose by "face," on Belk, they meant highlight but really my point still stands and that main highlighter shade is butted up against the black liner shade EEK! Danger! haha. ❤️

I dont have particularly large fingers but there's no way i'd be able to pick up some of those shades without getting the others next to them on my hands 😂😂😂

I had to look up that palette because I was so confused! It says it’s an eye & face palette, but in the details it states that one shade can be used as a highlighter. I find that very misleading. And why is that pink in there? Definitely spend your money on something else!
AND, sorry I was yelling haha, the one main highlight shade is BUTTED UP AGAINST (yelling again, will calm) the BLACK LINER SHADE (there I go again).

You can’t get your face brushes in the teeny weeny pans, the color of one pan ends up in the other pans . . . I like lots of Jones Road products, but not the pencils. Too much tug. I’m a Pixi color corrector woman all the way.

Ok. I'm going to give a longer answer than you wanted. If I am going out and it has to be PERFECT, then that red/orange thing from Cover Fx is AMAZING. If I'm just running around being normal me, then it's the newest Tarte in apricot all the way, in the stick with the doe foot.

Issues: using brushes? Creme and powder??
For which product? The pencil? Either one actually! But I used my Fusion Sonia G brushes for it. Bobbi Brown recommends fingers because of the warmth of the hand but youtube audiences do not like that haha.

I'm sorry but that EL palette is beyond MEH its just ugly! I looked at it on the Nordstrom site and it seems it's all eyeshadow and one highlighter shade. Nowhere does it say there is a blush in there. Funny side note, the site says SHADOE not SHADOW

Hmmm, you know my feelings on odd palettes layouts and shapes. Who thought this was a good idea? The layout is awful and not functional. Estée Lauder needs to go back to the drawing board on this one. I love Estée Lauder but this is a no.
