i love how in this first season as it goes on thorfinn goes from the main character to a background character that u almost really dont even think about in some episodes, i think the reason for it is to show how ever since he first join askellad he literally hasnt progressed as a person. for the past 10ish years hes had 1 simple goal while we see everyone else move forward thorfinn is just stuck

3:37 THANK YOU , he is doing the right thing ( unifying a bunch of barbarian mad men under one flag and giving them meaning and good purpose ) for the WRONG reasons ( his beef with both fathers 🤦♀️)
The final episodes of this season are pure tension as the spotlight is placed directly on Askelad and Canute.
I love how we all go through those conflicting feelings when it comes to Askelad; We condemn his actions but we fall for his charisma, knowing his story we empathize with him even knowing the violence he leaves in his wake.
The same conflicted feeling causes Canute in this moment, when he talks about creating a paradise on earth even if he has to become a demon, confronting God and rejecting his "love."
Thorfin leads a similar debate, justifying his violence in the pursuit of something honorable like avenging his father's death. And as viewers ourselves, it also forces us to constantly question the behavior of each character.
I am excited for the reaction to the following episodes, the conclusion of this first part leaves you breathless.
