I see some people don't know the real borders of Balkans. The biggest city in balkan is Istanbul and Turkey's european part in balkan has a population about 13 milion and is bigger than kosovo, montenegro or slovenia. I am a Yugoslavia born Turkish, and my family has a history araound 400 years in Prizren and there are 1.5 milion Ottoman Turks still live in different parts of BALKANS. All nations of balkan came from somewhere to balkans so does that mean non of them are Balkan people??? Last nation came to balkans are turks and it's about 700 years!!! 700 years is enough to say WE ARE BALKAN PEOPLE.
Our music, our living style and even Rakija makes us people of balkan not nationalities or religions. I wish a good future in peace without extremists. LIVE LONG BALKANS :D

We, albanians and greeks are the only people in balkan who use zurna/gayda, and have our own instruments in our folk music. I find albanian way of playing klarnet very good, but bulgarian music has an unbelievable spirit. I hope soon we will share FYROM.

@NazliCanBeyza first, learn the difference between "country's" and "countries". second, our roots are not from mongolia. turks are genetically and culturally quite diverse. third, balkans were part of turkey for many centuries and you can still see the legacy of that coexistence both in the balkans and in turkey. in language, music, food, etc. millions of turkish citizens have balkan ancestry, including the republic's founder and first president (ataturk). denying this connection is plain silly.
@NWOROBAMA but wouldn't globalisation bring people culturally together while still contributing cultural differences defined by mere distances? every few kilometres u travel in europe culture changes and ppl speak different dialects, and that's within countries. so does a border and national pride really make a difference?

You can not say that there is no relation with Turks and Balkans. Turkish people has been living in south east Balkans fore more than 500 year. So there is a cultural interaction of course. When you listen the Balkan Turks' music, it is obvious that there is always a feel of Balkan harmony structures and rhytms. And plus this, there is a Asian, Persian and Middle Eastern influences of course because these people passed this path from Middle Asia to the Balkans.

Really nice, fully balkan peace! Yes its sad that everybody hates everyone, we are all the same. We lived togheter in tousands years before in one country, and now we just made small countries and started hate each other. But, i love the whole balkan!
