If there was either an opportunity, or simply acting according to the situation, then you could create a real version of it, having all the materials and equipment for this?
What am I leading to. You see, we have all watched movies and perhaps played games about the apocalypse and the occupation of the planet by extraterrestrial beings. Your cardboard inventions are an example of this, that it is possible to make everything from any material. I may even prefer that such a time may come literally soon, when weapons will play a major role in the defense and mass destruction of such creatures.
