Good afternoon/night Hey I want to know how to play a church song with more colors. I don't want to play the same boring four chords so a video about making a song better whether it be making melodies or short run would be helpfull.
How about Southern gospel. It has “licks” to create the fill-ins, lots of octaves, (I’m not sure what you call things, I just create them !😉) The Gaithers, Collingsworth here on RUclips. Would love to know more!
Man I love your videos! They inspire me to want to learn so much more on piano not only on improv, but also love the runs you use to explain your tricks!
Cool tension transitions. Exactly the spice am hunting. Sometime the left hand was playing wide ie not just bass note dropping. Am gonna figure that out but will appreciate a video on that. Thanks mate
Yep! A lot of what I was doing is rhythmic syncopation with the left hand! Study how I do it here and in other videos AND if you want to REALLY learn it, explore my online courses here: www.improvpianotips.com/
im intressed in a video that transforms a normal song like left hand chords and right hand melodyline in a nice gospel song and with your thougthprozess about this i think it would help many!
Hey there ! Just wanted to tell you your video tutorials are great and really helping to improve on my talents. You've got a special way to teach, really motivating and inspirational. Surely, I won't hesitate to go for your premium contents when I get the funds. I am your new subscriber, keep it up ! Cheers, Elyel.
I like this. It adds much to my music library. Kindly would you cover about that same tension for advanced. Keep challenging us to become better. #From Kenya.
I have noticed that there are so many variations of gospel jazz chords it can kind of be confusing. Sometimes i want to upgrade my simple chords but i sometimes dont know where to start. Can you create some exercises to help expand gospel jazz chord skills please? It would totally help
Hello Kimberly! I totally agree with you. If you want expanded gospel, jazz chord skills, I suggest trying out my paid lessons on my website. I have a section with over 7 hours of Jazz, Blues & Gospel!
Hey Nik, love all of your videos man! I’m recovering from a stroke and have stumbled across your channel which has helped me so much. On this one in particular, what you play during your “little jam session”... I slowed it down and have managed to learn it, just have to work on it a bit... among other things LOL! Do you have any other videos where you break down this kind of style? Take care!
2:13 its not Add2 its sus2. Add2 would be CDEG not CDG. For example Cadd4 (CEFG) and Csus4 (CFG). One is literally adding a note, the other is replacing the 3rd with whatever note the sus is (2nd or 4th)
U got a new subscriber! That was insightful actually! But I also wanted to know about the advanced method! :) Now may you make a video on tritonic substitution? Thanks !
I've tried to learn, from tutorials like this, and I don't know about you, but a curriculum that fits my learning curve hasn't appeared. Hopefully ppl get this tutorial, cause I really didn't get this tutorial, too many things going on in the screen, and not enough chord progression, explained properly, IMO.
I just found you on line. I like what you d do and how you teach, however I feel just a bit lost. I currently play by chords and music, have kind of dabbled for years but really desire to learn more now that I'm older and an empty nester. I'm just links of bored with what I'm doing and need to advance now. But it feels like your way above me....

Greetings sir. Am really blessed by your videos and I want to get to you sir. So I don't know how I can get to you directly online. am a cameroonian and in Cameroon
Hi awesome vid. I am wondering being a musicteacher this program you are using would be a big help for me. Whats it called? I mean that in your vid you can see The chords/notes on the screen while explaining.
On these tutorials, do you by chance have these on a pdf that can be downloaded? It is hard to write the chords down and try not to miss anything. Just wondering. If so that would be great and much appreciated.
Awesome video- just subscribed. Could you please help me with something sir? I'm also a music creator, but I don't know how to set up my video recording so that I can show a virtual keyboard above the actual physical keyboard I am playing? I'd like to find out which software to use, or how to set up my recording, so that when I play notes on my Alesis Keyboard, the notes light up on the virtual keyboard and the note names are displayed on the screen. I also would love to have the chords displayed as well as the staff with the notes being played, just like in your video. Can you please help a brother out? Thanks! Chris
Good lesson.. can you make a content about making boring songs sounds interesting. Similar to what you just did? Like making it better and sounds interesting, then teach what did you do.

I would love a video on jazz melody:)
Hello and thank you for the comment! Would you clarify what you mean by jazz melody? Are you talking about reharmonization? :)
@@playpianobyear reharmonization bro
@@playpianobyear well I was thinking more about composing jazz melody and some melodic theory, but reharm sounds cool also:)
I know what y'all mean, thanks for the comments:) I meant basic principles of jazz melody like tension and resolve and perhaps interval relationships
