When you turn on mock locations and run the game, there will always be an error for the GPS. This has been an issue they created in order to prevent people from faking their location.

Well spoofing isn't made for every one . i did the same thing you did and i was set to the exact location i preferred but there was no gyms or pokestops. The worst part is my location couldn't be detected..
Is it safe to use wifi while doing this? Like if I travel somewhere an hour from my house, yet I'm still on home wifi, could that cause issues or lead to a ban? I'd hate to have to use my data, but I figure it would be the same if I were to actually travel anyway.
+Shamila Gunawardena It seems you got a soft ban. Spin a pokestop for 30 to 40 times till you can get Pokestop items and then you are good to go. Else if pokestops are working fine then use great balls or diff techniques to catch Pokemon.

If you travel too far from where you live, you can get a permanent ban. To avoid that, you should stay in the city you live in.
